I remeber that when they used to support bands like the vines and the strokes, they became famous. Pete doherty said something really nice that he was simply impressed by craig nicholls when he just danced to this song at the soundcheck and encouraged them. Pete liked the fact he didn't care about their image or whatever.More people should be like that, they should care only about the music, not what media says...also I think the vines are pretty underrated

no other band gives me that feeling that the libertines do. they might not be perfect singers or the best guitarists but the music has something that not many other bands that are considered perfect have.music is not about perfection, it is about the feeling, the emotion and anytime i hear these guys, they make me smile and they get deep under my skin. and thatś the beauty of the libertines. their songs have soul.

I don't know how anyone could rag on the drumming or bass playing of the LIBERTINES... Those guys are the backbone to the sound of the Libs. If you like their songs, you gotta like the four of them, because it would sound different w/different players. Music doesn't have to be perfect (instruments or vocals) especially in rock n roll to sound GREAT all put together. My opinion coming as a fan who listens to the music - not a musician who makes it and might listen closer to the specifics.

To me, they are the most relevant band of the decade... Sure, their lyrics were poetic, their music stirred the emotions, but I a lot of bands make good music. Yet I enjoy bands and then sort of forget about them, but I always think of the Libs as part of me, because their music was more than just music. Their music was all-encompassing.

Not really. The Libs is the only band who I loved during my high school days and whose music and cultural relevance I still admire today. I used to liked the Strokes, The Vines, The Hives, etc but I don't go around writing overly emotional youtube comments about them 5 years after the fact. I don't often listen to the Libs anymore, let alone watch videos of them, because it's too nostalgic. That's why 2 nights ago I gave in to nostalgia, I couldn't control myself.
