@theotherdoomguy They re-balanced it with a patch. The twins are mid tier now. I'd say the game is pretty balanced now. Ryu, who I don't have too much trouble with, is top tier. Hakan actually doesn't suck anymore. Admittedly, the tier lists haven't been solidified for it yet, but it's better than AE 2011.

Unlimited Ragna wasn't that impressive, even by storyline standards, considering he even tied with a weakened Hakumen.

Considering Order-Sol is way more aggressive than the current Sol-Badguy, I'd say Sol has the trump card of his Gear transformation/abilities, which he can tap into as much as he want since he's a prototype gear.

Ragna barely has an imitation of the Azure Grimoire.

Are we talking Unlimited Ragna as he is normally? Or Unlimited Ragna with (SPOILERS FOR ALL) the Idea Engine, at which point he can bloodstain Hazama?

Assuming Order Sol's willing to use his Gear transformation, the fight's probably going to be nice and even.

@spdeew In the new official book that came out about Blazblue, it explains the past of one of the timelines. There was a character named "Bloodedge" who was an amnesiac Ragna who was split apart from the Black Beast after Nu took his half of the Black Beast. I believe his left eye and right arm were useless, unless he was near the Black Beast, in which he regains the use of the eye and his arm. Otherwise, he's one-handed with the other arm dangling uselessly.

They'd have the same movelist.

I'd like to play Overture if I get the chance however I'm honestly surprised that it's over (at least I think it's over). I kind of expected the series to continue. Finishing it now feels kind of anti-climactic. I was sincerely hoping for Guilty Gear to stick around, it felt so uncompromising in it's style and difficulty. I was never a master player but I always liked it's gutsy style and kickass music.

Never said it's over. And the most recent interview said that they're focusing on Blazblue this year and next.

And they certainly do not have any issues with Sega (not anymore at least.) and that they are going to continue Guilty Gear.

In terms of the characters you listed, Chipp is faster and much more badass than Bang ever could be. Ky has a son and is nicer in general than Jin. Ragna's just a little boy compared to Sol. And Eddie relies on corner lockdown instead of Ara's curse.

There's already a 2nd BlazBlue at arcades in japan which is going to be BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and it's going to have at least 2 new characters to the roster but only Tsubaki has been confirmed so far. There's also changes in the battle system, physics for most characters which either made most of them crappier (Jin players such as myself will rage about what they did; 5C -> j.B from 6C -> dash doesn't connect anymore), and additional movesets for some characters (I'm looking at you Tager!)

Most noobs won't have Gold Johnny available or even be aware of his existence, and gold and ex versions are never usable in tournaments anyway. Because most ex and gold versions are broken. Like with Gold Millia's insane speed and jumping, and Zappa's Raoh mode constantly summoned. Gold mode is also disabled online, so it's not usable anyway. However you still run into tons of kids that just spam grand viper with Sol and gunflame.
