i was tuning my violin and my A string came off I'm trying to put it on but i cant and i have instrumental the day after tomorrow can you please help me
This is the worst approach towards the violin basics I have ever seen. The strings are gonna stretch. Anyone will pick up on that. I wont go on. This wasted my time.
the quality of the sound of violin comes from where the strings or the body itself because what if I bought a cheap violin and replaced the string with a better one so will it be good??/
@nyks114 If you want a good sound, get a good violin, and in turn, get good strings. Good strings will not automatically make a student violin sound like an Amati, and putting Astrea strings on an Amati won't automatically sound great. After many years of playing myself, I've come up with my own blend of different string makes that suit my violin best. I'm not entirely sure if that answers your question as I didn't fully understand it, but I hope this has helped!
Well he did say 448.. so maybe it's tuned to that. As far as I'm concerned don't most musicians (I'm talking non orchestra like stuff) tune to 440Hz? Actually come to think of it isn't the standard orchestra frequency 435Hz?? Well I suppose you just pick a relative frequency to tune from and stick with it.
The pegs will settle eventually. Next time you put new strings on, I suggest you apply some peg compound to the pegs. This will make them easier to turn.
yes, guitar tuners will pick up just about any sound. If you have an electric tuner you'd have to have an electric violin, but with a standard tuner with a microphone (say a cheap 15 dollar korg tuner) it'll pick up the pitch of anything within its range, IE guitars vocals pianos violins etc.

how do you tune your violin with a piano. What is the difference between the bottom peg and the top?
