  • i want John back on doctor who, it would be interesting to see John act against Matt.

  • Dear John Simm,

    CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR FACE.

    It is fantastic.

    Love, basically everyone.

  • Awesome rack

  • I'd have loved to see his kids face... Now there'd be a yt clip! "Hey, kiddo, your dad's an awesome actor! Did ya know?"

    Haha...

  • he was a stunning raskolnikov........:D so suitable for him haha!!! loved it...

  • @tommygun834 I'm related to him.

  • how on EARTH did she manage to sit that close to him and NOT SNOG HIS FACE OFF?!?

  • sexyyy as fuckkk mann he is awwwh i love his acting <3 <3 <3 amazing funny sence of actor who got a cheeky side into his acting which is class!!!!

  • She should let him speak more instead of fangirling xD

  • I'm liking the shirt.

  • i can't enough of him!!!!

  • ive met john simm in spain . he walked past me and then i ran all the way back into the car park and i shook his hand.

  • John Simm is the best :") ;)

  • this guy could play Thom Yorke in a film...

  • @joydivsion77 That was *exactly* what i was thinking. And guh, he's so sweet <3

  • @joydivsion77 Seriously.

  • dude she's so in love with him.

  • WHO THE FUCK'S JOHN SIMM?!?!

    ~Montgomery Flange

  • I wish she'd asked more about Speaking in Tongues. If you've tried so hard to get John Simm on your show, wouldn't you try to ask him more than the usual questions that he's probably been asked a million times before?

  • John Simm rocks my favourite actor ever!!!! i liked life on mars and doctor who but i would have to say than he was the best for me in state of play, he definetly isnt a snob and he is super cute for any 12 year old girl like me but i will be looking foward to anything new he brings. I'm glad he cares about what the scripts are like it is really important and writing scripts is something i'm intrested in doing when i am older andway in short John Simn you are the best thing since sliced breadxxx

  • He is such a brilliant actor and his smile is the cutest i´ve seen since eccleston

  • John, you're not a snob just 'cause you look for the best scripts! More actors should do that, and that's why you are a favorite of mine. Keep doing what you're doing! :P

  • thats horrible he doe even look like a elf

  • i said i was joking and elfs are cute anyway <33

  • okay

  • brilliant in doctor who tonight

  • Im surprised his little boy isnt scarred from seeing his dad be someone as brilliantly insane as the Master. I was blown away on Christmas by how good and convincing he was as well as scared out of my mind. I would be scarred if my dad played the Master that well.

  • @relientk58 remember this interview was before christmas so he hadnt seen the most insane part of the master yet.

  • And the Master's insanity is wholely different from Sam Tyler's. There's no such thing as saying "hey, I've seen that somewhere before!".

Well, just saying. ;) I don't mind if someone disagrees, but I can't just walk by without saying a word when someone's dissing very decent acting. *g*

  • From what I've seen, John Simm actually is a brilliant actor. There's no point in trying to argue that. :p

Just look at his roles, they're all different characters and you can actually tell that they are. Unlike with some other actors, where you recognize the same manner of acting over and over again, that's not at all the case with Simm. You've got completely different personalities and mannerisms. And it's all completely believable - have you seen Sam Tyler under the influence of fever in LoM?

  • I'd like to see John Simm under the influence of fever in real life.

  • In reply to Torik0, I know, He's an amazing actor and his styles range a lot! :) I mean, take Hugh Grant, he's only played lovers in Rom Coms. :) xx

  • She's fangirl-ing over JS :)))

  • I would be too!

  • So would I :D

  • Life on mars, and Doctor who for one episode in 2007, also whats this thing about him remaking state of Play

  • Thom Yorke looks like this guy, except this guy doesn't look retarded :))

  • Is that the MI6 building in the background of John Simm?

  • Certainly looks like, but being blurry, hard to tell. Don't know where the windows face from the GMTV studio faces...are they facing SW?

  • It's not real...

  • Ok then, our attention can return to the uncomprable JS :)!!!

  • Wow, that interviewer must be a big fan of John as well. She just couldn't stop praising him. ^ ^

I already got see the play twice! It's great fun! I would like to see it again.

  • Love JS, so very glad the play is having a good run - I'll be seeing it in a month's time!!! More of a praise-fest than an interview - not that I mind a whit! :)

And I'm a self confessed Whovian (hard core - classic and new), and need it be said, my opinion of LOM? Whilst I didn't watch it in one (!) sitting - I do have the boxed DVD set, and revisit often

    I suppose I'm gushing...

  • ohhh sweet ****

  • Love John Simm, but seems somewhat uncomfortable in this environment, almost playing the part that viewers of this sort of froth like to see

  • He's excited to see himself return as the master and so am I!

  • ME TOO!!!

    John Simm is AMAZING

Couldn't love Dr Who much more XD

  • fuck off hes awesome

  • Everyone's entitled to their opinion m8, but yours is not based on the clear facts he's a brilliant performer. Not to your taste, move on, don't disrespect...

  • Give me one reason why he's brilliant and I'll agree.

  • Frankly, it's not up to me to convince you. People have different tastes, and if he's not to your likely, I'm more than willing to agree to disagree. I feel his body of work speaks for itself, where with every nuance of facial expression, eyes, voice and body language he conveys what his character is feeling. He morphs into the character and even when unsympathetic, you understand what that person is going through.

  • All which is what is expected of actors at the most basic levels.

Brilliant is a term doled out all too easily these days.

  • No,most actors don't hit the mark as consistently as this performer, neither do they portray the range of complex emotions and venues.

Again, you really don't have to agree, at all. I for one do not dole out accolades will-nilly. His body of work resonates with me. His performances are deep and thought provoking.Clearly we're measuring basic performance levels on a different scale, 'cos most performers do not make the mark. Many do, and they are the ones we should and do take notice of.

  • @terminegger: I think many here would disagree with you. Every time he plays a different role, his body language changes, his expression changes, his voice and tone change. Many people can say lines convincingly. But to adapt a different body language, to adapt different expressions and make your audience understand? That's never easy. Simm does it well and consistently, which is what makes him stand out.
