  • WOW lots of work getting all of those antennas up. Hood luck on the 80m and 160m. With the right space you could make a curatain array between towers. Anyway couldn't just browse away from your video without saying fantastic work there during the solar low. Numbers are up for a little while so good DX to you.

  • No wonder I hear you on 10m when there is little else from NA Ray :-)

    Speak to you again soon

  • is this what ham radio operators get when they win the lottery??

  • Awesome....I'm so jealous:) 73 de W9NYX

  • Hey do you talk any on the 10M band? Not sure why anyone would need so many like beams for 10M, but that is quite a sexy set up there. I'm asking Santa for your array's. 73's

  • holy cow, I wish I had a fraction of antenna and obvious knowledge as you have, Great video, thanks for sharing.

  • Nice antenna farm ;-)

  • nice

  • Very impressive and neat antenna farm installation!

I live a second floor apartment with balcony mounted or indoor dipoles and running 30 watts on the average, mostly PSK-31 or CW with a Yaesu FT-950. I would be happy with just one of those towers and a tribander yagi beam or a quad!

I am sure that you have quite a bundle of coax cables running into your shack as well as an array of coax switches that identifies each antenna.

Thanks for the video and hope to work you someday on HF.

  • Hi,

How tall are your towers? I want to get an idea on how high I should make my 2nd tower.

    73, Richard/VE3RHD

  • Beautiful setup. You are making me feel so bad living in a two bedroom in Manhattan with an indoor dipole :-(

  • WOW! I just started studying for my license, but I live way out in hilly timber country about 20 miles from the closest repeater and am dreaming about a set up like you have. I think I'll need it. I don't yet understand about half of what is going on in your video, but I'm looking forward to learning.

Quick question (maybe a dumb one): Is lightning a concern?? Do you have a rod on the towers or near? We have bad storms in my area, so I'm not sure what to do about that, if anything.

  • Very nice antennaststems :) Awesome work"

  • Hello W2RE

You have very nice setup and thank you for the 20m QSO during the contest

  • Goodness..... I hope you are tied off up there. Beautiful country.... OMG!!! Impressive. Do you need help?

  • Fantastic farm, congrats!

  • @ZXROMEO Ham radio is not for everyone, certainly. I just don't get the hostility some people have toward the hobby. Why it is any less cool in 2009 than 1955 is not so clear. You learn a lot of things about physics, electronics, weather, geography, mathematics etc. I am not a ham myself, but understand why some people can find it fascinating. As well, there is a certain rugged individualism behind being able completely to supply you communication needs and not rely on the "system".

  • WOW! This is impressive! Really nice antenna farm my friend

  • sorry just saw your shack video very nice!!!

  • Very nice setup. I can see you really enjoy this hobby very much. Do you have a youtube showing your shack?

  • Great setup! You should be able to work God :)

    Tom, ak2b

  • @raccoonnyc actually I work him all the time, without any towers! shh! "I let my license expire" you just need a clean antenna, "heart" his handle is "Jesus" he's quite active most mornings and evenings.

  • Great antenna farm , Love it !!!

  • It is overwhelmed to the phenomenal scenery and the antenna farm.

  • Hi Ray, thanks for our QSO half an hour ago.

My girlfriend was always complaining about my simple 5 elments beam for six meter. UNTIL she saw your movie with 3 towers. Now she doesn't complain anymore. So I have to thank you for your great movie. :-)

By the way, it's an amazing antenna system! This declares your great signal from tonight!

  • Thanks for the contact Paul. You were very loud with 100W.

    I'm on5dl contact you 31/09/2008

  • As you can see, Ray, W2RE does NOT fool around when he does something!! He does not fool around when it comes to his amplifiers either. HE RUNS A KING CONVERSIONS CONVERTED SB-220 FOR 6 METERS AT 1500 WATTS OUT!! Ray knows the "right stuff" for ham radio.

  • Excellent work! Hope to hear you on the air!
