ah, shit yeah....sound factory 93/94...was like church & a dead show combined, lol, with father junior at the controls...remember we divided the dance floor by the 4 columns into 9 squares, named for brady bunch - i was usually found in Peter...ya never knew who you who would show up in Alice, and NO ONE would be caught dead dancing in Marsha...would arrive at 3am...get my brain ready by 4am...dance until my legs started cramping 11am?! loved my fellow churchgoers...nothin' like it since...damn
Damn this brings me back! My boy and I first found this joint by accident on a Saturday because Tunnel was too packed and wouldn't let us and our girls in. We followed people up West 27th to SF, but once inside and before we paid, I saw it was gay night, so we bounced. But outside we talked and HAD to go back in because the music was BUMPING! Junior was jammin' and we danced with our chicks for 6hrs straight! After we found out Fridays was straight nite and Junior was there too, SF BECAME HOME!
I saw him play at Cream Liverpool in the mid 90's. He sucked. He emptied the room. Probably not his fault though, as the sound we all wanted was a progressive trance. It was all about Oakenfold then.
@grinboy Happy Mondays, "Stinkin Thinkin" Remix. It's on YouTube. I don't think it's a junior remix, even though it's listed as one on YouTube. I think someone else produced that track...
OMG- I feel like i just got there and found all of my friends in the left corner by the stairs. This maked me so happy , but a little sad too. No better party ever was or has been since- *SNIFF*
Can anyone identify which version of "You used to hold me" he's play at around 4:03 . It goes, "you used to kiss kiss, you used touch touch, you used to love love . . ." Any help greatly appreciated:
Karen Pollack - You Can't Touch Me, Murk production released on Emotive Records Circa 1992 but i think it was re'released about 2 - 3 years after that... i think
@cfierro94 as do I . This is the ORIGINAL SOUND FACTORY, you the one that opened at 1am & closed around noon on Sunday....... To bad music isn't what it use to be....
What I wouldn't do to have that feeling again. Nowhere has ever felt like that. The tribal ... voodoo sun, fierce ruling divas, happy mondays. liberty city, MK, Irma records cuts. The lightning would strike on that dancefloor and take you away. NYC should take a lesson from then. A lot of Sunday mornings doing the walk of shame out of there and proud of it!
OMG LOVE THIS!!! seriously one of my favorite clubs, great music, great energy, great people...always ended up here and always had an amazing time...miss it, LOVE JUNIOR!!!!!
brings tears to my eyes.... u did make our lives..u gave us relief and a sense of belong with your music. werq me junior! the goddess of light and the sound......
Everything about this club is right! The people, the sound, the vibe, most of all the DJ and the MUSIC!!! Junior you're like what you're wearing: SECOND TO NONE
Best club in the world....feel special to have the chance to experience this live. There will never be another sound factory....it was the times, the music was fresh, and junior was a master during those times....his best....I lived on that dancefloor!
