  • This is a very good example, well done

  • Is this fast forward?

  • We did that in Science...

  • I just posted a video response... it's a bit silly but it is another example of convection...

  • YOU BETTER NOT PUT FISH IN THERE!

  • Anyone else see the Pepsi logo?

  • so the convection cells just keep going around in a circle?

  • @bigbangirl1005 So long as there is a temperature difference in the fluid. In this demo, the water reaches an equilibrium temperature and ends up as a purple tank of water.

  • really good

  • My teacher showed us this in science :D

  • i saw this in class today

  • what happens if you do the experiment with red water and blue coloured oil?

  • @munem939 Why don't you give it a try. I'd expect you'd have issues with the different densities of water and oil (oil floats on water), along with their miscibility (ie, not mixing together).

Love to see it, got to try to find out!

  • This was awesome, and the best one yet!!

  • when i was in 6 grade our teacher was showing us science videos and she showed ud this one

  • My teacher loved this video and showed it to us because it tied with our science projects

  • This is what I am planning on doing for my science fair project.

Do you think you can give me the materials and steps for doing this project?

I really need help. Thank you. ;)

  • Awesome video! Thanks for helping me teach my kids about convection currents!!

  • i have this exam and its soo important this helped me a little

  • the video is made faster than it is origiinal note this also.....

  • @ucpj - Yes, this is true, if you try this demo it is slower. I sped up the footage to make it more interesting to watch.

  • Great video.

  • This was awesome! I remember a similiar expieriment in my school....

  • This is my science project too!

  • That's a perfect convection cell!

  • how does climate change change human temperature.. for example: when its cold outside how does that temperature get transferred into humans through their skin and is their a video or written information better explaining the process of heating or cooling into humans THANKS A BUNCH!

  • It looks a bit like a freddo frog!

  • thats pretty cool! :)

  • Thats really cool i hope my science teacher plays it tomorrow

  • Yep, I am a science teacher and this is by far the best and coolest way to see convection currents. Convection currents are all over the place, from weather and winds to refridgerators, hot water systems, household heating and the Sun.

I hope you keep having fun in science.

  • excellent!!!
