  • Ladies and Gents, let it be known; that was about as perfect as you can get for a shot. The white background is perfect for concealing the inherent warping of frame interpolation.

  • how the hell.... it was laggy then with optical flow it was smooth as, that's beast right there

  • what fps?

  • how do you make it soo smooth mines at laggy in optical flow

  • Where do i control the shutter speed?

  • I have final cut pro & when i use optical flow, its ends up lookin wavy, like it has a shadow that follows my body, how do i get rid of that?

  • @Joshneal85 that is because you shot your video with low shutter speed. Use shutter speed as high as possible.

  • @sanderbesems O ok, where do i go to control that shutter speed?

  • @sanderbesems O ok, where do i control the shutter speed at?

  • PLEASE MAKE A TUTORIAL!!! i don't get how to use optical flow with final cut pro X and its drivin me crazy!!

  • how'd you make it smooth? there's some warping when i try it.

  • how many fps did you record the footage at?

  • front nose on a handrail.....

  • how much slow mo is this??

  • That was the best Optical Flow effect I've ever seen. not even joking. :O

  • holy shit thats sick

  • is optical flow already on final cut pro

  • @sk8kid1926 yes. It is in FCP X, and Motion 5. Apple made FCP X one product, you don't have to export to Motion anymore

  • optical flow = basic twixtor :D

  • @HapplyFace it's free and very good

  • @HapplyFace same goes for time remapping in after effects.

  • @HapplyFace lol

  • can some one help me I'm filming with the sony new vg10 and i don't know what settings i should set it to. to get the good slow mo

  • People, With stuff like this you just need to have plain backgrounds for it to work and show good results (like this one here ) If you look at other stuff on youtube of optical flow its all horrible because they have complicated backgrounds, if you want your slow motion to look really good you must have; High shutter speed AND plain backgrounds. then you achieve really nice slow mo like this one.

  • People who say FCPX is iMovie pro... All I can just say is that FCPX ain't bad, just that they are noobs with the new simple interface.

  • @dagr8master i agree FPCX FTW !!!

  • how long does it take for the optical flow to analyzee?

  • NEED HELP OPTICAL FLOW IS LIKE THE CLIP SAYS ANALYZING OPTICAL FLOW WHAT DO I DO NEED HELP

  • @BHFhq just wait. optical flow is a memory hungry beast, its one of the hardest things you will ask FCPX to do. Just wait for the render to finish

  • @pbennettuk thank you

  • Optical flow is a quality setting in the Retiming (speed) interface. Optical flow tracks individual pixels in each frame (based on color and structure) and creates new in-between frames that look like a film camera that is over cranked (Ie shot at 48fps and played back at 24fps). In regular slo-mo, each frame is repeated to create the effect which result in judder but may be preferable if you want a stop-motion effect. Avid has a similar tool called Fluid Motion.

  • how many fps was the video shot at?

  • Comment removed

  • What shutter speed?

  • It's included in FCPX... It's not a default setting tho.. you need to tell him from "Normal" (Default), "Blending" and "Optical flow"

  • is this some type of plug-in or is this included in fcpX

  • @Am3ricanMuscleMan Included.

  • What fps/shutter were you using though?

  • cause pretty much it looks like the same thing, if you have an actual camera that has shutter and atleast 60fps. X is nothing to be proud about I think.

  • whats optical flow?

  • this is final cut pro X!!! iMovie PRO?? come on! this is amazing!

  • coley!!1
