William DuVall is pretty damn good i must say, They put on a damn good show here in sturgis last summer! Their new album is pretty good also, I would have to agree though that Dirt is my favorite album, I like just about every damn song off that album!
Pretty cool to see William joke around with Sean like Layne used to do. Huge Layne fan, was lucky enough to see them with him on the Lolla tour in the 90s but glad they've carried on.

Many ppl had the same feeling about AC/DC when Bon Scott died and was replaced with Brian Johnson. Nobody NOBODY thought anyone could match up or replace Scott. But long story short the naysayers fell silent and the "power" moved on to achieve great things.
@MarcSylex The reason it worked for AC/DC is that it they didn't try to find someone who sounded like Bon Scott. There were plenty of fakirs out there, but the Youngs decided to find someone who could really work what they envisioned as stage two, and they wrote for the next chapter. If you are honest with yourself, you realize that Brian Johnson doesn't do the Scott era stuff well, and they know it and stay away from it. Cantrell is a legend, but he could learn from that example.

Many ppl had the same feeling about AC/DC when Bon Scott died and was replaced with Brian Johnson. Nobody NOBODY thought anyone could match up or replace Scott. But long story short the naysayers fell silent and the "power" moved on to achieve great things.

@MarcSylex The reason it worked for AC/DC is that it they didn't try to find someone who sounded like Bon Scott. There were plenty of fakirs out there, but the Youngs decided to find someone who could really work what they envisioned as stage two, and they wrote for the next chapter. If you are honest with yourself, you realize that Brian Johnson doesn't do the Scott era stuff well, and they know it and stay away from it. Cantrell is a legend, but he could learn from that example.

thnk i is BS! layne did make the band! If i wan't for laynes voice Alice wold have been another bar band watching MTV wishing they could do that. Sorry, sure the other band members are talented but without a front man the face of the band they are nothing. Layne was bigger than the band people wanted to see him and see what he would say what he would wear. Layne was and is Alice in Chains.

@runnersdialzero33 This album is much like Jar of Flies in the way that the songs are sung. Jerry sings most of the songs on JoF, while Layne only sings backup. Most of the new new album is the same way, but with DuVall singing backup instead of Layne.

It takes alot of balls to keep going after a band member died. Instead of congradulating the band on making a good album, you fucking whine about how they should stop and complain about the singer. They were close to Layne and as you can see, they realized they can't live in the past forever and are moving on. None of you knew Layne personally and refuse to accept the fact the band exists now. Thats just disrespectful.
