I love Robyn and all, but nobody can sing Hyperballad like Bjork does. I’m pretty sure I couldn’t take anyone seriously singing this song. Bjork covers are always weird, her songs are so unique that you really can only imagine her singing them.
Now, that doesn’t mean that Robyn didn’t do a bang up job! Bjork, who is sitting and watching the whole thing didn’t really blink an eye. Pissed or touched?

I highly doubt Bjork disliked this performance. Even in the unlikely even she didn't like Robyn's version, she had to have liked her effort and the fact she was being honoured by her. Much more likely is she was deeply moved by a very good cover of her greatest song, and struggled to contain her tears. That's how I interpret her expression, and the facts afterwards indicate she loved it - she emotionally thanked Robyn afterwards.

@stargza Robyn sometimes does this to get another kind of rythm in the music. And I think even others do to. It is not a mistake. If you study Robyn carefully on the video you can se and hear she is very sensitive to rythm.

Hyperballad is one of my favorite songs by Bjork and i love Robyn as an artist too, so this meeting, this cover is one special one for me...Robyn did an amazing job and we have to applaud her for this...it takes lots of nerves to sing in front of the original singer of the song...Robyn, U ROCK!

I love this cover so much, and I don't understand why so many people are speaking badly of it. And Bjork was clearly moved...if you can't see that then you know nothing about body language. I do not see how people can't like this. What WOULD be a good cover? In a great cover, the artist brings their own style to the song, kind of gives it a new aesthetic, but still ends up with a magnificent results. Check, check, and check if you ask me: Robyn nails this.

This is AWSOME!!! I'm a big Robyn & Björk fan... so it was a very delicious combination for me! Some people said that Björk was upset whit the arrangements, but I think she looks very happy & proud whit Robyn... she performs beautifully this song... LOVE IT!!!
@Vindrag What do you mean? Robyn looked very passionate and even a bit emotional at times, which means she was doing the song correctly. And we don't know for sure Bjork wasn't pleased, it hasn't been confirmed either way, and she did have a tear as if she was touched by it.
Next, Robyn got the rights to do the song from Bjork herself, so if it was really so bad I don't think Bjork would have let her done that. And third, Robyn was being very serious, she loves the song and respects Bjork.

This was terrible. I have a feeling that a lot of people who like this version like it because of the music or the lyrics, both of which have nothing to do with Robyn and everything to do with Bjork. Robyn's voice sounded forced and way to weak for such a powerful song. I think it was kind of insulting for the singer to take such an amazing song by such an amazing artist and make it sound so bland and unoriginal.

This is the version Robyn was doing.. its a completely different version than from the album/single/concert versions.. Bjork re-recorded the vocals for this version called Girl's Blouse..
What Robyn did.. is start with the very slow "Girl's Blouse" version.. and ended with "Subtle Abuse" version which has a faster beat towards the end !
As for me.. I say don't ever cover a bjork song.. trust me.. i've tried to do it so many times.. its like taking someone's thumbprint and trying to make into your own knowing that no matter what it would look awkward !

Hyperballad is one of my favorite songs by Bjork and i love Robyn as an artist too, so this meeting, this cover is one special one for me...Robyn did an amazing job and we have to applaud her for this...it takes lots of nerves to sing in front of the original singer of the song...Robyn, U ROCK!

I love this cover so much, and I don't understand why so many people are speaking badly of it. And Bjork was clearly moved...if you can't see that then you know nothing about body language. I do not see how people can't like this. What WOULD be a good cover? In a great cover, the artist brings their own style to the song, kind of gives it a new aesthetic, but still ends up with a magnificent results. Check, check, and check if you ask me: Robyn nails this.

By the way is clearly seen that Robyn is trying hard to follow Bjork's rythm style in lower tones but she is horrible. If they where going to make a tribute to Bjork, they needed talented artists, not popular garbage. This are things that I asume, Bjork with her knoledge and as a experience musician knows better than all of us.

To the people that think Bjork didn't like this performance, this would have been like someone reading her personal diary to her, she has never been in a situation like this before, infact, she hardly listens to her own music, apart from when she performs it. According to her drummer, Bjork was teary, which you can see, and thanked Robyn afterwards saying that it was almost too emotional to watch. Hyperballad was about one of her best friends commiting suicide, do the math.

It's about being in love, but after a while it gets boring, so you go out and show your destructive side to show yourself how ungrateful you are being. Then you go back home to your partner and wrap up in their arms and feel grateful again.

If it is (also) about a suicide, I imagine that bjork would not just be blabbing about that in interviews, out of respect for that person...

@Vindrag What do you mean? Robyn looked very passionate and even a bit emotional at times, which means she was doing the song correctly. And we don't know for sure Bjork wasn't pleased, it hasn't been confirmed either way, and she did have a tear as if she was touched by it.
Next, Robyn got the rights to do the song from Bjork herself, so if it was really so bad I don't think Bjork would have let her done that. And third, Robyn was being very serious, she loves the song and respects Bjork.

I love Robyn's style and her music, but she simply doesn't have the power to pull this off... Seems like the smallest movement gets her out of breath and slightly off key. The fact that any Björk song is a whopper to cover doesn't really help. So kudos for trying, but this one seems clearly above her station...

This was terrible. I have a feeling that a lot of people who like this version like it because of the music or the lyrics, both of which have nothing to do with Robyn and everything to do with Bjork. Robyn's voice sounded forced and way to weak for such a powerful song. I think it was kind of insulting for the singer to take such an amazing song by such an amazing artist and make it sound so bland and unoriginal.

I hear the only reason why they have Robyn wasn't because she's Swedish, it's because Mandy Moore couldn't figure out the words to "Ancestors" and a schedule conflict kept Samantha Mumba from doing a lighthearted rendition of "Where is the Line?".

This is the version Robyn was doing.. its a completely different version than from the album/single/concert versions.. Bjork re-recorded the vocals for this version called Girl's Blouse..
What Robyn did.. is start with the very slow "Girl's Blouse" version.. and ended with "Subtle Abuse" version which has a faster beat towards the end !

I ♥ Robyn but she simply does not have the pipes and breath for this song.. She's off key.. and her wording is also Off.. but its mediocre.. It is very very difficult to cover a bjork song.. no one can do it.. unless they change most of the song to make it easy on the average singer to sing it.. Bjork's singing is irregular.. i've never heard anyone able to pull it off !
