Android 17 is my favorite DBZ Character. I hate how he wasn't even around that long! I mean he was on quite a few episodes in the Cell saga but Cell just had to absorb him and that pretty much just screwed up his life! He was on 1 freaking movie! @ILikeRice23 No, the android 17 in gt wasn't in hell to begin. He was still living somewhere out in the mountains until he was brainwashed by the fake 17 made in hell by dr. myuu and dr. gero. (this 17 you see in hell isn't the real 17; its a duplicate copy) Telepathically, the fake 17 contacts the real 17 on earth and controls him to open a portal connecting from hell to earth so that the fake 17 can escape and come to earth to fuse with the real 17. Hope that clears things up.

They also wished only the "good" people to be brought back to life, and this scene is after everyone is back alive again on earth. It's proof 17 is a good guy...otherwise he wouldn't be back again. I really wish 17 had more screentime. It would have been interesting to see how he acts as a good person along with 18. I wish they were still together.
For those that keep getting confused, 17 was wished back with the dragonballs on episode called "One more wish!". It is right after Gohan kills cell. One of the wishes was to revive everyone who cell killed (or his victims). 17 was one of them because when cell self destructed with goku that ended up killing 17 as well inside him. I don't know if anyone noticed, but Dragon Ball and DBZ have holes too. I think it's because is more easy saw the holes of GT, because it's too short. 64 episodes. DBZ have something like 240, and Dragon Ball have 160.
GT would be a lot better if they don't turned Goku into a child,don't made that Gran Tour saga,Pan like a main character and the other characters that were important in Z like useless characters.The story of the Baby saga and the Dragons saga is cool.But JUST THE STORY.And the only dragons that were useful were Syn Shenron and Nuova Shenron,the other dragons were like shit!

Ignoring the fact that 16 was actually pure android (and was in fact NEVER human, unlike 17 and 18 who started human, then were modified by Gero), the Dragon can only bring one back if the wish was made within a year of death.

The fact that 16 was not among those that returned only reinforces that, despite appearance and behavior, 16 was not considered truly "alive" by the Dragon's power to begin with, being, to put it bluntly, a machine. A sophisticated machine to be sure, with incredible AI, but a machine nonetheless.

@rxrs hes the original he was lets say absorbed by cell but 17 still manifested inside of cell gohan kicked cell hard enough that he regergetated 18 and so with 17 bulma put 17 and 18 back together though even when 17 and 18 werernt inside of cells body he still had their power after he absorbed them all he did was take their energy he could had just took their energy and let them go but he didnt long story short kid buu and super buu and cell are all dicks

@Ghuntu1 not to mention in BT3 theres a what if saga where 16 is sent back in time to kill goku as a child and it says so in the opening text scroll : 16 returns to the past when goku was a boy to confront and elimate him . and during the fight with android 8 (gokus friend) hes "ill terminate your circuits". before it was mild hinting but now its just a smack in the face it seems .

Well, if Android 8 could be brought back to life that leads me to believe that maybe Android 16 could be alive again as well. Android 8 is as artificial as 16 yet 8 is brought back to life by the Dragonballs after Kid Buu killed everyone.

Buu destroyed the Earth so 17 was killed again, but Vegeta asked Dende to revive the earth and everyone back with the dragonballs in the Buu saga. They also wished only the "good" people to be brought back to life, and this scene is after everyone is back alive again on earth. It's proof 17 is a good guy...otherwise he wouldn't be back again. I really wish 17 had more screentime. It would have been interesting to see how he acts as a good person along with 18. I wish they were still together.

For those that keep getting confused, 17 was wished back with the dragonballs on episode called "One more wish!". It is right after Gohan kills cell. One of the wishes was to revive everyone who cell killed (or his victims). 17 was one of them because when cell self destructed with goku that ended up killing 17 as well inside him. He lives his life in peace after getting wished back and this scene shows that he's always actually been a good person, despite his future self. Continued ->

I don't know if anyone noticed, but Dragon Ball and DBZ have holes too. I think it's because is more easy saw the holes of GT, because it's too short. 64 episodes. DBZ have something like 240, and Dragon Ball have 160.

@IamKingOfHearts Because 16 died 7 years before this, to Cell. This scene, and the wish in question that clearly brought 17 back, takes place at the end of the Buu Saga. Ignoring the fact that 16 was actually pure android (and was in fact NEVER human, unlike 17 and 18 who started human, then were modified by Gero), the Dragon can only bring one back if the wish was made within a year of death.

The fact that 16 was not among those that returned only reinforces that, despite appearance and behavior, 16 was not considered truly "alive" by the Dragon's power to begin with, being, to put it bluntly, a machine. A sophisticated machine to be sure, with incredible AI, but a machine nonetheless.
