  • These cars have no torque what so ever lol

  • @MultiChicklets Agreed

  • Yawn

  • i have a 2011 SI, mine apparently doesnt hit the rev limiter till around 9 or so.....data log check said i hit 8860rpm and one point...oops.

  • POINTLESSSSS

  • Pointless comment

  • @zorryan you gatta love all those comment!

  • @icewind0982 Not really sure how I got 53000 views, but whatever. LOL.

  • @zorryan simple honda civic on youtube XD

  • so true my freind pointlessssss

  • Useless video

  • Useless comment

  • Have you tried the limiter at 7k?

    Check out my vid.

  • or, get a v6 manual accord or s2000 and stop thinking your civic is a race car.

  • A v6 accord isn't a race car either. Neither is an s2000. They are faster than the Civic by about a second. My Civic isn't a race car either, but its as close to a race car I can afford at the moment.

  • i merely point out the irony of arguing over which civic is better when its not even the fastest inside its own brand. and you can get a few year old s2k or exv6 accord for about as much as a new si /shrug

  • Some people enjoy a new car that has a lot of fun bundled into it, rather than an Accord, which is bigger, or S2000, which is older. Plus, I see more s2000 and accord v6 than I do SI, and its pretty cool having a rarer car too, though that was not the reason I bought it. And I love how it sounds and the VTEC punch is nice as well.

  • HEy man! i agree with you, dont worry about that old POS telling you what you can drive, like, or could have got with your money, im in an FA1, and so badly want an Si! but i am happy with my car just like you bro! and rmemeber, you gotta love the haters because it means your doing something right!

  • I would rather have the S2K to be honest... And yes, I do have an 06 Civic Si, k20/K24.

  • Right an S2000 has only 2 seats, which they break in to steal if you leave parked outside... An Accord V6 is a little faster than a STOCK Si but wastes way more gas on the process... Can you mod a V6 Accord like a Civic Si? Its like saying the V6 Genesis has more potential than the Turbo Genesis... get your facts straight you faggot

  • I think I can beat this with a Geo Prizm

  • Yeah, this really isn't a speed test video, this is a "look how high I can rev my engine" video. I ran 15.2@92 at the track, not bad. Go get a stock Geo Prizm and prove you can beat me with that.

  • Well I was just joking but give me a Geo Prizm GSi..if you can still find one and I will give it one hell of a try!

  • That stuff still hasn't worn off after 35+ hours. Damn man i really want some of that shit. This is the real world. This is NOT Herbie.

  • Dude I want some of your drugs. If you think a 1.6 with 130hp 105lbfttq 5sp will beat a 2.0 i-vtec with 197hp 6sp Si you must be feelin really good.

  • How interesting you looked up the GSi information. I guess this is the real world...I didnt say I could beat you I said I would give it one hell of a try. Since you looked up the information do you know what 0-60time was for the GSi? What website did you find this info?

  • "I think I can beat this with a Geo Prizm" - Prizm2356

"...I didnt say I could beat you" - Prizm 2356

    Huh??!

  • I thought this comment posted already. Youtube wont let me post websites. Here is how you get there. search 1991 storm specs on google. It should be the 7th one down. The page is robietherobot : geo storm gsi 1990 - 1991 specs. Yes i know the storm is not the same as the prism, but they have the same engine, tranny, and almost the same dimentions. BTW the 0-60 is like 10.5 seconds.

  • or just search this on google: robietherobot : geo storm gsi 1990 - 1991 specs.

  • 0-60 in mine according to most car testers is 6.7, I think thats quite a bit faster than 10.5

  • Yeah thats what i was saying to Prism2356. He thinks he can keep up in a Prism. I have a Mugen Si and my 0-60 is like 6 seconds flat.

  • Who the hell comes in here and has the balls to even mention a Geo Prizm? I bet the computer you are using now is worth more than that POS car.

  • Comment removed

  • I already knew that, but thanks for informing anyone else that may be confused.

  • this is not true. The hondata n/a reflash lowers vtec to 4500 and there is big gains from 4500-6000.

  • Wtf are you talking about? I get 30mpg city EASY in my si when I drive it moderately.

And what do you mean "not as much power as you would hope from a car like this"?

By "car like this" you mean an NA 2.0L?

Point to an NA 2.0 that makes more power than a K-series. Oh, thats right, there aren't any... Please STFU kthx.

  • Comment removed

  • It does add up. But that's why there is a "normal" civic and an "SI". It obviously depends on your environmental beliefs, your budget, and what you expect out of a car. People, like myself, have no problem sacrificing 6mpg for a lot of fun.

  • uh oh, we've got a 12 year old here...

touche on calling be gay, you got me.

Its all in how you drive, kiddo. I'll show you 35mpg in my si on one tank, and then show you 6 second 0-60's on the next. Thats a combo that you'll have trouble matching in any other car.

Plus the regular civic puts me to sleep when I drive it... It has NO power. Its fine if you're a boring person and don't care about performance. At least you're not gay like me right? xD

  • Lmao. Who ever knew my one redline to 8k would bring so many 12 year old gay jokes. I have driven my parents civic around. Its fine for them and really it would be fine with me and the other 90 percent of the population. But I like fun and I like knowing I drive a Civic aroun that is far less common than the regular ones.

  • got your ecu fixed?

  • Only vtec can do that :-)

  • lol my stock galant hits the 8300 vtec noobs

  • And then grenades itself.....I could hit 10g if there was no rev limiter and if I wanted to kill my engine and get hit in the face with a flying rod...lol

Seriously, 8300? What year and what engine on a Mitsu hits 8300? I had a 3.0 Eclipse that only hit 6200...I doubt the 4's get much over 7. Maybe not though, prove me wrong.

  • year is 1993 and the engine is a 6a12 2.0 V6 24v

  • 2.0 V6? That's a really small v6. Is it fast?!

  • no 160hp but there is a vr4 version withs stock 260hp same engine only it got 4wd and twin turbo

  • the galant vr4's only run 190-210 depending on the year

  • A friend of mine has a car with a 1.8 liter V6. Its a Mazda MX3 I think, 1990-something.

And no, it isnt fast either :P Less HP than my 1.6 liter civic.

  • your mitsubishi has vtech huh

  • lol....hmmmm how'd that happen? *cough*RICER!*cough*

  • and how much power do you make at 8300? Right, your engine is just spinning. It cant breathe like vtec does so it makes no power.

  • Peak power on the SI's is at 7800. Anything above it is less. But it wasn't my intention to show peak power, just to show how high the damn thing revs...

  • right right. I was talking about the guy who said he could rev his mitsi up that high. I was just saying that no vtec = no power in that range. I actually drive an 06 si and it screams. I need to get a re-program though because its in the early vin range with a few little DBW glitches.

  • You dont NEED VTEC to make high rpm power...... Thats an extremely stupid comment on your part.

I know a lot of guys running small blocks who dont make peak power til 7,000rpm. Alot of the drag cars rev even higher then that. With a single cam and pushrods.

  • Yeah, you definitely don't need VTEC for high power in high ranges. One reason, Vtec is NOT a universal name for variable valve timing. Also, the main reason for variable valve timing is for good power up high without sacrificing power down low (or vice versa). Engines built for high RPM don't need variable valve timing, and they can make tons of power up high, but they may not run as great down low. VTEC helps eliminate these trade offs in engine power/rpm.

  • zorryan hit it on the head... just saw that

  • I'll clarify my point since you seem to jump on rhetorical simplifications which intelligent people would just read over in context:

by 'vtec' I mean variable valve timing. Every company calls it something different.

No variable valve timing = either no high-end power or no drivability. Its a rather simple tradeoff. Those small block guys who don't make power till 7000 rpm would get toasted on the touge by a vespa.

  • Ha, excellent. Whats a touge? And I wasn't jumping on any point, I was just following up to whatever was said before.

  • Who were you commenting to?

And I make peak power around 6300rpm and its no slug down low either. Peak torque comes in all throughout the 2-3000 rpm range, and hp isent garbage down low either.

You dont need VTEC, VVT, or whatever the companies want to call it to make power at high rpms and maintain streetablility. They make plenty of power, just peak comes in up high. Cam selection can get you damn near any rpm range you want.

VTEC doesent even give you a good hp range, its all high rpm

  • Who knows, I lost track. Either way, all of our points are valid.
