Bro I just got an 05 sti. It has the same turbo and meth injection system. It's pushing 538hp and 510lbft of torque to the wheels. It's quick. Yours is very nice.

i say go for the wrx first just because its cheaper and this will probaly be either your first or second car so go with something with a little less power to get used to.

thats just my opinion though..

i was looking for a subaru for atleast 6 months to no avail and wound up getting something totally different with almost the same power as a wrx only rwd.

@dwnrety1 I'm almost 19 got an 04 wrx sti for almost a year now, powers just fine and they are quite easy to drive. Mine has 305BHP and in a straight line it gets all the horses on the tar ;)

@dwnrety1 That's absolutaly correct. I did have my racing license at 17 and i'm still racing in the Dutch Mustang Challenge, so i'm pretty used to 300bhp+ and ofcourse the Mustang is RWD. And it's also i guess in the nature of the person.. Like i'm totally not agressive behind the wheel, but lots of people are.

Yes the gearbox can handle it, but 06+ STI has better syncros than 04-05 does. The gears themselves are almost impossible to break.

Nope is is a gt35r .82ar with the 2.5" T31 housing, it originally came with a Perrin rotated 35r kit but I've replaced the uppipe, downpipe, and intake with custom parts.

Damn! Yeah I am thinking that you got me with this beast. I have and 03 WRX with a GT30R set up. I have done just about all you can do without modding the internals. I am making 400whp and roughly 420lb ft of torque. running 11.7 in the 1/4 so I am not doing too bad, what are you running?

Nope, 2.0L still running the stock internals. If you have it set up right with a good tune you can run that much on the stock internals. And even then the pistons and the block can handle it, it's the heads that you would have to worry about. The stock pistons in the 2.0L WRX are actually alot stronger than people think and also it has alot to do with how much PSI you are running and I am running 18PSI which is the maximum recommended without beefing up the internals.

The pistons aren't the only weak point in the block. You will break something. That's not even a question. It's an inevitability.

Well yeah anytime you tinker around with a motor you risk blowing something up and it isn't a matter or if it will blow but a matter or WHEN. And yes the pistons are weak but the heads are weak as well. Trust me I know what I am doing I have worked on these cars for quite some time now. The stock internals can handle 400hp much more than that you are going to hurt it. but also it depends on your driving habbits and how much boost you are running.
