  • @92loserkid not IHRA prostocks...hey can have up to 815!!!! so can NMRA, PSCA, NMCA and other sanctioned bodies. NHRA is strict on prostocks.

  • For naturally aspirated engines nothing beats the sound of two of these coming off the line! The NHRA cars sound good but not nearly as good as the 800+ ci IHRA engines. :D

  • nhra burns out at 8500 rpms and shift at 10 to 10,500

  • between nhra and ihra its only a 15lb difference, and pooplicker94 is right, for a pro stock car its not that huge

  • These IHRA mountain motors are on average 1750-1850hp, going through the traps at 10k RPM's, these cars also have more weight than NHRA pro stockers which btw go through the traps at 12k RPM's.

  • lol they dont turn 10 k my friend. I believe the mountain motors turn about 8750 and NHRA prostock is limited to about 8500 by the NHRA. Check out this months Drag racer mag for teh facts.

  • NHRA pro stock engines aren't limited, they routinely run 10k through the traps. With the IHRA mountain motors 8100 - 8200 rpm is about the highest they spin them because the crank stroke is so long (over 5.7 inches) that the piston speeds are ungodly high and the pistons are almost outrunning the flame front. These engines have the highest piston speeds of any racing engines, around 8000 feet per minute!

  • this car is probably closer to 2000 hp, but thats off racing fuel, 118 octane or so, and carburators, thats naturally aspirated

As for experience...for one, its all about the NHRA...I work for a Pro Stock team, doing clutches...and know pretty much everyone thats run pro stock on a personal level.
