@SShichiroukun I haven't seen Pokemon in a few years (can't remember exactly how long it's been), but when I was still watching it I noted over-used plots, increasingly declining quality in the voice work and dialog/general writing, a reliance on the ol' 'Team Rocket causes trouble, captures Pikachu and/or random Pokemon, then gets beaten' plot, and what seemed to be an increase in 3D special effects that, IMHO, didn't exactly mesh with the rest of the animation.

@valiare1947 Hasn't it been Team Rocket > Pikachu > Random pokemon gets beaten. most of it was anyway. I honestly thought the voice work was bland to begin with. it's still just as bland. Agree with you on the 3D effects though, but it's a children's show. It's supposed to catch their attention and hold it long enough for them to buy as much pokemon merchandise as possible.

@SShichiroukun The voice work and dialog was never all that good, heck the early episodes are just as bad, if not worse than today's. But the voice work did get better as they actors settled into their roles and then it started declining again. And yes, the Team Rocket plot has ALWAYS been around, but they seemed to be a lot smarter back in the day. When I stopped watching Pokemon the only things Team Rocket was doing was digging trap holes and using in giant robots.
