You guys might think it's going to be a joy ride, but when you get out to the midwest and deal with the wind, heat, crap roads and drivers that would just assume run you over then move out of the way you'll be wishing you never started this thing. As a person that has mechanic'd for RAAM riders over the years it's a brutal undertaking even if you take plenty of breaks. And on a fixed gear it's going to be even more brutal.

More power to you guys.. My wife and I are considering the same thing and on a Fixie too. I personally love riding one and riding a fixie reminds me it's about the ride and not the speed.
