@dlangables as far as I know iggy was fine with the idea of the movie while bowie was not, so they had to stick to allusions as far as he was concerned. as I understand they so took the liberty to blur the character of bowie by merging it with illusions he and his alter ego had created in people's heads instead. bios hardly ever work so I think it actually was a good thing to happen, for the movie as well as for bowie himself.
