  • Nice! I'm looking to teach in South Korea as well and this vid just gave me hope.

  • What are those people arguing down there for? I think I could be helpful about knowing ESL jobs in Korea. Coz am Korean and am a job agent too

  • thanks for sharing!

Was this your first lesson with these students?

    Were you teaching conversational English?

  • Kinda lame how they give them all "English" names

  • its standard practice in all language classes. when i took spanish i had a spanish name "Rico"

  • what made you teach in Korea? I have a lot of questions !LOL

  • Great job Connie...I am also an ESL Teacher in Southern Spain. I wish my students were as well behaved as yours. Keep up the good work....Steve

  • Alright Ms Hall keep up the GREAT work and don't pay any mond to haters...they are around every cornere...Great illustrations. The kis\ds look really happy to be there too and they are certainly learning...which is the ultimate point...to teach.

  • Interesting cricket batting stance ;-)

  • Look at my little sister teaching in S. Korea. I am so proud of you and I enjoyed watching this video immensely. You have some really great teaching strategies in place. I am loving all that positive reinforement. I miss you, but keep up the good work. Yes, I love curry too...hehehe. Tell your students hi for me.

  • OMG Ms. Hall was my teacher in middle school here in Miami, Fl its really cool to see her over seas.

  • Which Bighead BooBoo is this?

  • lol Yessenia =)

  • Yes, except the teacher seemed to confuse USA with UK (for double decker bus and Big Ben).

  • Pay attention please. The video is edited. It's a 45 minute class.

  • Team USA vs Team UK in the activity. As in the point for answering Big Ben Double Decker Bus goes to USA (Team USA). They kids understood. Keep up.

  • What do you mean keep up? Edit it better! This is how YOU chose to present your teaching.

I now see that you do say "team USA," but consider this. That tecnique might confuse the Korean kids. Had you given the teams colors for names so you wouldn't have to the winning country's name, in this case "USA", while asking about a British landmark (Big Ben). Even though you are referring to a team name, you are, in essence, reinforcing the wrong country name to beginning students.

  • Oops! In trying to cut it down to 500 characters, I accidentally took out the word "refer" in the above post "...you wouldn't have to refer to the winnind country' name..."

  • Why are you wasting ur time? The understood that's all that matters. You should be less judgemental especialy if you can't make your point properly. I am so tired of you. It's sad that these children are smarter than you.

  • They aren't beginners. Wow! Stop making things up to make your point. Grow up.

  • I said "seemed". Speaka-de-english?

  • wow smart kids :D

  • cute class! n they're really good for their age.

  • How did you overcome racial bias? as far as the most preferred teachers are white? and what program did you go through to teach in Korea? Thanks

  • There are many schools in Korea who don't hire Blacks. I have alot of experience in this field so that was a great help. They also liked the fact that I didn't speak with an African American accent. Its sad that they think that way but that's life.

  • Wow are you serious? I had no idea, but I did figure it.. I'm African American and I've been wanting to teach overseas for about 2-3 years now; I've been doing much research and

I still have lots of questions.. so if you have the time, can you please help?

  • sure I'll help you as much as I can. I'm going home on January 14th. That makes 2 years in Korea.

  • Talks in natural voice. This is very important.

The "teacher talk time vs. student talk time" ratio is a little off. I hope the kids get more time to do real talking, like telling stories, in the rest of her class.

  • Teacher/Student talk time isn't off because it's a lecture class. They are supposed to exercise their listening skills. Notice my emphasis on pronunciation and intonation.

  • wow! i'm in the process of getting an assignment to teach in south korea. i have a few questions for you. do you have an email address?

  • woah these kids r quite clever. and dats a well good teacher
