  • If I have a T-Mobile sim card in the Sprint iPhone 4S can i get calls and texts to both my Sprint and T-Mobile #?

  • @firecasey You are misinformed, the CDMA version of the iPhone doesn't have a sim card port, but on the iPhone 4s, all phones on all the carriers are identical, except to which carrier it is locked to.

  • If i have a sprint iphone 4s but is not longer activated with sprint, can i just put a tmobile sim in it? or do i have to jail break it and do all that unlock shit? or will it not work at all?

  • That's not possible. iPhone 4's and 4S's don't have SIM card solts on the side. They don't even have a SIM because it is not a worldwide phone.

  • @adalidfuentes1988 yes it works with foreign sim cards, i tried it with Digitel GSM, Movistar, and Telcell and they all work with 3G and with carrier selection and apn editing, but modem firmware changes.

  • @techguy0711 Question bud: I have an AT&T iPhone 4S and im traveling to Mexico pretty soon. I purchased a prepaid TELCEL microSIM, I will be able to just put it in while in Mexico, and it should work, correct? Just follow this glitch with the 'carrier' setting correct? Will TELCEL show up and not tMobile/AT&T since ill be in Mexico? Thanks!

  • also will it work for tmobile

  • will it still be unlocked on ios 5.0.1

  • I have a Sprint 4S that works with my H2O Sim and AT&T SIm but with Sprint SIM or T-Mobile it goes in to deactivated mode.

  • how do you deactivate an iphones sprint service on a cdma network

  • I have a Sprint iPhone 4S.

Can it be unlocked to be used with ATT or TMobile ?

    Please email me at Sandra.03@live.com

  • are the iphones bought after 11 november the same?!

  • @YasarzZ They said they locked them after November 11, but you can ask them to unlock if your account is in good standing

  • if i buy one from sprint does it need to be activated through sprint?!

or I can just buy it, travel back to dubai and then open the box over there without even connecting to sprint network once?!

  • @adalidfuentes1988 the thing is that when you put in the simple mobile sim card and it finds the network.. and you u dont get 3g is because the iphone DOSE not support the 3g and simple mobile idk why but simple mobile is a 3g network by the way just that the iphone wont give you 3g speeds but a tmobile 3g phone will...

  • hi im planning to buy one for mexico do you think it will work?

  • Hi everybody. I have 4 Sprint Iphone 4S need unlock them. They are sealed, never activated, clean ESN. 2 before 11/11 and 2 after. Have I to activate them using Sprint sim card and after that insert my sim card from other country? What to do with the other 2 units bought after 11/11? How can I ask Sprint unlocked them from my country? Im willing to pay for your help.

  • Good video

  • I think on this video. The iPhone 4s is factory unlocked and then he activated with sprint after that he use with T-mobile and still works with AT&T as well

  • @adalidfuentes1988 Most likely it is unlocked if you bought before November 11th. You won't know unless you try a foreign card

  • He he he

  • that shit crazy so if you buy a sprint iphone 4s and you dont put a sim in there its spint and if you do it becomes that carrier

  • @hollaatyoboyful Yeah, wish there was a way to manually switch it. I have to keep the foreign SIM card out while I'm in the US. It would be nice to have it in there and turn CDMA on or off using a soft switch. Changing SIM cards does mess up iMessage a little, it takes a while for it to go back to verifying my Sprint number as a recipient.

  • I heard that if should some specific model iPhone 4s?

  • @hitocause MD382LL is mine

  • What model number is this? Thanks

  • [NOT by tmobile or att] but by that foreign sim card provider since tmobile or att is letting that provider use them use their towers in the usa]. Hope this makes everything clear. And thanks for the clarification joe !!!

  • the only question that i have is...whether sprint has locked the iphones bought prior to november 11. I don't know how they can do that...but still wondering? And just wanted to say that this video clears everything. Iphone 4s bought prior to november 11 is sim unlocked only for foreign sim cards [sim cards outside usa] and if you try to use a foreign sim card within usa, it will use tmobile or att [the only two gsm networks] towers on roaming and the person will be charged arm and length

  • @57pritam Correct. They have not locked mine yet, it still works with a foreign SIM card

  • i got an iphone from sprint ,, can i use it on at&t ??

  • if i have my sprint phone, and i go to mexico will it work if i just insert a prepaid telcel sim card?

  • @shrek101 Yes. That's how I'm using mine. As long as you bought before November 11th or you ask them to unlock it if bought after that date

  • fuck this locked and unlocked shit

  • @simpson2221 Agreed. It's retarded

  • IS any inactivated Sprint iphone 4s able to work with other GSM carriers ?

  • @abdulali84 No idea. Without a jailbreak we will not know, as the phone will probably not work and will be stuck at the activation screen.

  • Like A Boss

  • nope once unlocked they cant re lock it

  • i dont get it :S isnt sprint CDMA?

  • @9T6Q yes but the new iphone 4s are global phones so verizon and sprint has sim cards in them and u can use another sim over seas verizon will unlock once ur account has been active 60 days in good standing i got 29 days left till they unlock my 64gb

  • @rallisonreptiles nice but i went to sprint to check out the iPhone 4S and it didnt have Sim Card slot :S

  • @9T6Q yes it does the iphone 4s does the iphone 4 dont

  • they locked the ones they sell as of today

  • This is not on T-Mobile at all. It's on roaming. This means that to use it you would have to have credit on the foreign sim and then you would be charged an arm and a leg to use T-Mobile. It's not unlocked in the classic sense.

  • @celticgibson dude...i mean seriously. it is using t-mobile towers becuz the foreign sim card does not have towers in the USA. If he travels back to whereever he got that sim card from [say DUBAI], the phone will start using the local towers in dubai and will work in accordance with mobile rates in that country. Its like if u take ur phone to england, it will no longer use sprint network but use vodafone's network on roaming and sprint will charge u arm and length for that.

  • so does that mean i can use t-mobile on the sprint iphone?

  • Well idk but I have taken my sprint sim card and I was able to make calls and go in the Internet :) :)

  • It is the same with ATyT

  • Really bad focus.

  • @Jonathan8599 Thank you for taking the time to troll. You are awesome

  • @MrHavanahjoe Thanks I get that a lot!

  • wait so you could without sim card and still connect to sprint

  • Comment removed

  • I live in uae.if I get a sprint mobile will I be able to use du/etisalat sim here in uae.tanx in advance

  • @MrHavanahjoe have they pushed the lock yet?

  • @samin0701 Not yet. I bought a Telcel SIM card on Sunday and tried it last night and it is still unlocked. Meh, youtube doesn't let me post a twitpic link

  • Wow...bro you obviously don't get it. When you roam on a foreign sim card it has to connect to a US network. In havanahjoe's case he chose tmobile.

  • Ok then why would tmobile work and not h20 wireless they are both us

  • do u have to pay full retail or regular 2 yr contract prices?

  • @jaounione This was bought paying a 2 year contract price. Not sure what an out of contract phone would do when bought from Sprint.

  • @MrHavanahjoe i have bought an out of contract iphone 4 S from sprint for $705.00 .. and it still works the unlock of course

  • @francescosuarez Cool. Is it unlocked for US SIM cards? Or do you get the same error messages I have seen?

  • @havanahjoe it's locked for US sim card.

  • So i can use a sprint iPhone 4a with h20 wireless which is Useing AT&T towers think of buying a sprint iPhone 4s and put it on h20 wireless

  • @jasonlane15 NO. H2o wireless SIM card does NOT work, it exhibits the same behavior as an AT&T SIM card. US carriers ARE locked

  • damnnnn nice

  • Was the du sim already a micro sim or did you have to cut it? I'm travelling to the UAE in a couple months. It would be nice if I didn't have to do anything other than buy the sim and put it in the 4S

  • @djnotepad I had to cut it. It was easy to do. I also cut an h2o SIM without a problem. Just line up the Du SIM to the Sprint one that comes with the phone and make sure the metal connectors are aligned and cut around until it's the same size and shape. You should be able to buy the Du SIM, cut and put in. Du might sell a MicroSIM now so check with them

  • Was the T-Mobile sim card you used from T-Mobile USA?

  • @00gsh No, it was a Du SIM card. I have not tried a T-Mobile SIM card but I tried AT&T and h2o without any luck. There is a software lock that disables the phone when a US SIM card (other than Sprint's) is in the phone. Du has roaming agreements with T-Mobile USA and that is why you see it on T-Mobile

  • when wifi turned off, what do u see a 3g or Edge on t-mobile sim?

  • @rynjsph I have no data with this SIM card, but I would see EDGE because the iPhone 4S, like all other iPhones does NOT have the AWS frequencies required to use 3G with T-Mobile USA

  • Where do you get this card? Do you get charges from Sprint for going onto another network? I've seen a couple of videos showing that the sprint network is slower than at&t (wayyyyy slower). So something like this would be great to use the at&t for web browsing when having a sprint phone, since I have been thinking of getting the sprint ipod 4s but have been questioning doing it due to the slow speed on sprint.

  • @ANNIEALBA That is to be expected. Sprint and Verizon's EVDO network has much lower theoretical speeds than AT&T's and T-Mobile's. I have not tested this with US carriers but I have heard AT&T and T-Mo SIM cards wil NOT work. This is for travelling internationally. Sprint will not charge anything because once on another SIM card you are not on their network anymore

  • did you pre order from apple or the sprint website???

  • @samin0701 I pre-ordered through Sprint Friday night and it was delivered yesterday

  • @MrHavanahjoe would the 'Du' sim work without activating the phone? or do you need to activate it beforehand.....i really need a international sim card to work more than anything else...im leaving the country in about a week...so should i activate it then just turn it off...so that sprint doesn't push the 'lock' to the phone?

  • @samin0701 I have no idea. They can still push an update to it if the phone gets any internet connectivity, even while your abroad. I have done some more testing and discovered that an AT&T SIM card does NOT work and I get the same with an h2o wireless SIM (US prepaid). It looks like there is a software lock that prevents it from working from US Sim Cards, but foreign ones work. If this is the case, I doubt they would push another lock

  • @MrHavanahjoe Oh ok...I hope it stays that way! If its not too much, can you test the 'Du' sim after 4 - 5 days?!?! That would be great if you can...Thanks!

  • @samin0701 Of course. I'll keep a close eye on this as this will determine if I keep the phone. I want to use a Telcel SIM card for when I am in Mexico

  • @MrHavanahjoe Cool! Yeah same for me, I won't keep the phone unless I can use it abroad(India) because I travel there a lot. Thanks again for the help!

  • @MrHavanahjoe Hey how exactly did you activate the phone with Sprint?

  • @MrHavanahjoe Hey how exactly did you activate the iphone 4S with Sprint?

  • @samin0701 I bought it from Sprint, so it was activated by them like any other phone. This is not the unlocked version of the iPhone that will be sold directly through Apple
