I was stationed at the air base from March 1977 to October 1979, so I was there when Columbia Mall opened. My wife and I got over there once or twice, as we lived on 26th Avenue S., so we weren't too far from it.
Whoa!! The Columbia Mall was my 1st mall I've ever been 2!! Born in Grand Forks I remember always playin jumpin on these huge rocks in there. I 2 miss those good ol' days. I moved 2 West Fargo in 1990 and went on 2 fuck wit West Acres Mall. Now I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Miss ya ND
wow, the columbia mall in grand forks used to be THE place to go when travelling from winnipeg. now it's dead because target moved out of the mall. how sad.
Yep, when you lived in Manitoba and you wanted to go to 'the states', the first stop was Columbia Mall in North Dakota! If you were really adventurous, you'd go to the mall in Fargo. In the early 90's, there was this cool clothing store for women, but the dressing rooms had no doors! I found that so weird.
Hi, nshields. I grew up in Grand Forks. I too, remember that big ugly artsy thing outside of Daytons. I also seem to remember an ugly gray horsesoe type artsy thing outside of JCPenney. Well, anyway, I miss those times. People seemed to care about each other more back then.

Forgot to mention that I wouldn't mind seeing posted on You Tube the commercial where it said, "Christmas at Columbia Mall."

This was pure goodness from the past. Now if only some zombies were to be seen stumbling about the mall.

Do you mean the West Acres mall in Fargo? I've only been to that mall 2 or 3 times in my life.

firstly, does anyone else find those two kids playing in the dressing room sorta weird? secondly, when the "ef" did the mall have a meat case?
andreak1892 5 years ago
I think the meat case was from the Hickory Farms shop on the way to Target.
