  • 70 lumems jt

  • get the teralux upgrade led, for AA and C & D cell gives 140 lumens or D cell giving 700 lumen (pricey though)

  • I love the fact that the latest version of this ALREADY HAS A LANYARD HOLE!!! But be careful, both kinds(the one with and without lanyard hole) have identical packaging so don't forget to check the tailcap if it has a lanyard hole so you know it's the latest version. I got mine DEC. 24, 2010 in Manila, Philippines for Php2,300 and that's $52 and it's a bit pricey because it is imported and taxes are added. But im really impressed they included the lanyard hole and I won't have to worry :)

  • This is the 2nd generation of the LED mini maglite 2AA. The 3rd generation HAS A LANYARD HOLE and yours doesnt have. Both 2nd and 3rd generations have multimode. The first generation has no multimode and has a 3watt led.

  • I've got loads of flashlights now but I can't help but want this little classic. :)

  • Yo JT about the LUMENS it is 69LUMENS stand on the website and their is a new maglite the XL50 can you do a review of that one Plzz reply

  • @AlfonsFromAtech ...thanks for the info but, everyone knows I don't do requests...

  • @HELLZZARMY hey does the holster it comes with have a belt loop? thanks

  • @Mightylite94 ...yes it does about 1 1/2"...not designed to fit wide belts like that Blackhawk "last resort" belt I showed in my recent EDC video.

  • @HELLZZARMY thanks

  • This Mini LED MagLite is 69 Lumens, it says on the package, I just bought one, RLLY bright, I was quite surprised!

  • do you you know how many lumens is the normal mini?

  • @yonatantt ...just ran a search in google...15.2 lumens.

  • @yonatantt about 11 lumens dion't get the minimag led get the Fenix e21 much better

  • i go camping alot and was gonna get a mini mag light and saw the led and didnt know 2 much about it. which one is brighter and which one lights up the furthest? what do u recomend

  • @xXxjoemanxXx ...It's been a while since I did this video and haven't carried this Mini Maglite LED for about (6) months now. But, if I remember correctly the LED version is brighter.

I would recommend this light be kept in a pack as a back-up light. and suggest you look into Fenix brand lights. I got three-LD20 (2AA) $69.00, TK11 (2 Lithium surefire batteries) (4) settings $89.00 and TA21 (2 Lithium Batteries)$119.00

  • @xXxjoemanxXx ...If money is tight nothing wrong with sticking with Maglites 2D or 3D's. Always have back-ups.

  • @xXxjoemanxXx , LED is brighter, has more features, and is much more energy efficient. It's a no-brainer.

  • i git the some Maglite and a Solitaire for $9.45 at walmart

  • @theLonesoldier18 ...you get the regular mini Maglite not the LED one.

  • Pearl ridge Hawaii? Great video...

  • Dude, for almost 30 bucks the Mini Mag is so outdated. For that price and maybe 8 bucks more you can get a Quark mini 123 flashlight that has more than 150 lumen turbo mode and is less than half the size of a mini mag. Will fit in your pocket. Maglite really needs to catch up to the rest of the industry...

  • @spiritsword83 ...it's just another option fo my viewers.

    I myself am a die-hard Surefire guy...but, latley I prefer Fenix...LD20, TK-11, or TA-21.

  • Thanks, i just got one and was wondering how to use it. Video explained it perfectly!!!

  • I have a mini maglite LED that came with my large maglite in a set, but the battery cap is stuck on. I've tried heavy-duty vice grips trying to twist it off to no prevail.

    Wat do? :D

  • how do you switch the modes?

  • By turning the head on then off to get the next mode...

  • I got one with a green tinted LED, its awesome, they went from blue which washed everything out, to green which made colour regocnition at night so much easier, You will find these on RCMP (Canadian federal LE) duty belts, I find they crap out after a while, I've had one being used for about a year now, and its not 100% relaible anymore, could just be a serial nuber thing though

  • hey what do u think of the AA maglite as a kubotan or tactical impact device?

  • It's perfect as a improvised impact weapon...

  • @HELLZZARMY couldn't agree more

  • Got mine for $9.95 at Home Depot, also!

  • @ MikeShepBama Mini Maglite cost $72 in Singapore.

  • @MrQuackism holy shit 72$?

  • LOL i got mine at home depo for 9.88

  • Cutlerylover just put up a review if you wanna see btw. Nice short review. Short and to the point. Thanks.

  • I recommend to you the Maratac AAA from countycomm. Goes 80 lumens on max mode. 0.75 oz and goes off 1 aaa battery. Around 22 bucks.

  • Good review. Not too long, like some other reviewers.....lol.

Just a FYI; Lowes has them on sale right now at 20% off. That brings it to $16.00 and change. This is a must purchase for me. Heading there now ; )

  • yeah, $16.00 is better than $19.99.

  • Yep, was even better on black friday, but they sold out pretty dem quick. Last thing, these come in two versions, the one HZ is showing in video is 2nd generation. First gen did not have the low/high/pulse features and used a different manufaturer of LED.

  • Great find thx for sharing. awesome light for not much money, unlike those expensive tac lights like surefire and inova.

  • Awesome little flashlight J.T or as we brits call them - Torches, lol.

    5 stars.

    Mike

  • thanks...

  • LOL

If you call flashlights torches, what do you call torches? You know, the one they used in which hunts. A stick with a piece of cloth soaked in flammable liquid on the end?

    LOL

  • a stick on fire

  • If your in the military or law enforcement, etc. it makes sense, you need a reliable light source.

But if your not....its a bit pricey. I can get a $4.00 LED at the dollar store that will light up a whole fuckin room.

  • Too each their own huh. I normally carry a Surefire 9P or 6P Defender...and most recently a Fenix LD20.

  • Yeah...LED not just attached...it is a whole new/iimproved flashlight (model)...

Sorry as stated in the video I don't know how many lumens or millicandelas.

  • Attached to what???

This is a NEW product to the Maglite line...Mini maglite LED...

  • nice sounds good but a lot more than regular mini-mag

  • The old Mini Mags worked great. I bet if I go digging in an old gear bag I'll find one or two. Nice to see them come back in LED. Need to pick a few up, check them out, and drop a few in stockings for Xmas. Tks!

  • Hey man id you buy a normal mini mag an the led upgrade its cheaper. You can pick up a normal minimag for like 8 bucks at wal-mart an the led for about 12-20 pending on where you find it.

Theres also a switch upgrade to put in place of the butt cap to give it multi power options aswell as 2 flash modes.

  • For about the same price total...$19.99 ...I have a production quality light already made...lol!

  • I'll stick with my customized one.

  • good buy!

  • 10-4...looked cool...it should be attached.

  • Good vid. 5/5* JT you doing any new gun reviews soon? Or EDC vid?

  • thanks...yeah I got to do an EDC update and I still need to do one on my Browning Hi-Power...I showed it in my Account Update...

  • 10-4

  • Another great video. maglite also has the l.e.d. conversion kits also..

  • glad to see the vid jt guess i got lucky i got mine for $10 @ lowes hardare last weekend there good lights

  • I knew Mag made LED's(I have one and love it), but I haven't seen the multiple settings. I need to try the "Lamp" feature on mine,,,Yep, It can work as a lamp too!!! But now I have "burns" in my eyes LOL That thing puts out some good light!!!

  • 10-4...

  • It's great to see Maglite embracing the newer LED lighting technologies, as well as the development of these technologies in general. They're tougher, as well as more versatile and efficient. Your average guy on the street probably isn't going to own a Surefire, or even a Fenix for that matter, but you can get some pretty decent lights at places like Wal-Mart and Target these days.

  • I have the original and it's good as it is. Can't imagine the led.keep up the good vids

  • it suppose to be a 25% improvement...so says the literature and the website...

  • LEDs are measured in lumens too. I've a lot of time looking at light and have never seen the word milllicandela until this video.

  • Yeah I'm no expert came upon that term while researching for another video.

The brightness of LEDs is measured in millicandela (mcd), or thousandths of a candela. Indicator LEDs are typically in the 50 mcd range; "ultra-bright" LEDs can reach 15,000 mcd, or higher (the 617 nm Luxeon Star (part number LXHL-NH94) can reach 825,000 mcd).

  • means yes

  • Whats 10-4?

  • Roger or Understand or Copy.

  • Radio code for 'affirmative', 'understood' etc.

  • Hey man! the mini maglite is also a very good makeshift kubotan. great video. 5/5

  • 10-4...

  • thanks...

  • great video i have the old 1 now i have to get this 1

  • i love maglights. i give them as stocking stuffers to lots of people i know.
