Paul Motian, a drummer, bandleader, composer and one of the most influential jazz musicians of the last 50 years, died on Tuesday Nov 22.2011 in Manhattan. He was 80 and lived in Manhattan .
The cause was complications of myelodysplastic syndrome, a blood and bone-marrow disorder, said his niece, Cindy McGuirl
is it just be or is this Jakob Bro guy trying very hard to be Kurt Rosenwinkel :P? It's all over his physical appearance .. could be wrong though, don't know the guy.
@larkydozer Tay Zonday wrote Brilliant Corners if he went by the name Thelonius Monk and faked his own death in 1982. Because for more than 50 years the world has - including his music publisher - been under the impression that Monk wrote the tune. That was also everybody's impression when my group opened for him in Palo Alto CA in 1967.
@esolarceoaol Sorry, forgot to put my name to previous post: Keni Washington

@larkydozer Yeah and Tay is on the sax as we can clearly see. Although I guess he's using a stage name.

I was joking around.
Jazzers can be so humorless at times.

@larkydozer
Ho Ho. And you are so humorous.
There are problems enough for jazz musicians getting credit for their work, without stupid misinformation on the internet.
