Thank you, thank you... hey, where'd everybody go? Oh well, guess I'll split too... THUD! How do you get outta here? Hey, which way do I go? Nope... that ain't it... Over here?....No, nope! Hey, how do I get outta here?! Help! HELP!!
Wow, judging by the comments, most of you were bothered by the whole thing and tried to analyze it instead of accepting it for what it really is: A hilarious skit about a singer not taking his own advice in his song.
It looks like the audience didn't enjoy Little Chrissy and his Alphabeats singing which might be why they walked out through the "exit" without listening to them sing. Or, maybe the audience was not sure which door they were supposed to walk out to leave which could be the reason why Little Chrissy and his Alphabeats were singing to them which was the correct door to leave. So, while it was still fresh in the audiences minds, they probably wanted to exit out the door before they forget.
I noticed that while Little Chrissy was singing, his face was bright blue but, as soon as he finished the song, his whole face became very dark. I wonder if someone turned out one of the lights in the room which made his face dark but, I'm not sure if that really did happen or not because everyone in the room (including the Alphabeats) walked out through the "exit" leaving Little Chrissy singing alone in the room.
This song is way, way, way, way out! I also thought it was kind of funny that he apparently didn't pay attention to his own song because he couldn't find the exit.
Yes, I also thought it was funny how Little Chrissy got lost in the room not knowing where the "exit" was. Maybe the "exit" door was locked because at 3:06 you can hear the door knob turning, so he probably felt locked inside and couldn't find another "exit" door. If the "exit" door really was locked, he could've exited out through the "enter" door. I wonder maybe if one of his Alphabeat members locked the "exit" door since both Alphabeat members were the last two to go out the "exit" door.
Good thoughts. On the other hand, notice how he tried simply to walk through the wall right next to the door? I don't think Little Chrissy is blind, so it's fun just watching him wander around in a hopeless daze.
Yes, I saw how he walked really hard on the wall next to the "exit" door. I thought it was also funny how he was lost walking around the room not knowing which door to exit. I wonder why Little Chrissy's Alphabeat members walked out through the exit without him leaving him alone in the room singing. I'm sure those Alphabeats are his friends, not just his band members, and if they're his friends, they should've told him to stop singing since the audience left, and not just sneak out on him.
Maybe they don't realize he's Directionally Dyslexic. I speak from experience, my mother, older daughter and only son are exactly the same way. No doubt one of them heard him yelling, and went back. "Hey Little Chrissy, here's the Way Way Way Out!'
That's true that, he probably would've been more focusing on singing that he probably wouldn't of heard his alphabeats talking to him. However, they could've tapped him on the back where I'm sure he would've felt that and it would've got his attention to stop singing, then his alphabets would've been able to tell him that they all should stop singing since everyone left. (It did look like the alphabeats didn't care leaving him alone since the lavender alphabeat shrugged then left).
I wonder why Little Chrissy's Alphabeat band members walked out through the "exit" in the middle of the song without Little Chrissy. That probably wasn't a very polite thing for them to do to just sneak out on him(especially if they have always considered Little Chrissy as a friend and not just a band member). If they wanted to leave, they should've told Little Chrissy that everyone left, and that all three of them should stop singing since there is no one left in the room to sing too.
Maybe Little Chrissy didn't know that, that door behind him was the "exit." (He must've thought it was probably a door to go backstage since he was on stage). Also, since he didn't see anyone walk out through the "exit", he probably thought they went out through a door away from him and his Alphabeats. Although at 3:06 you could hear a sound of a door knob turning, so maybe he thought the "exit" was locked and couldn't find another door to leave (he should've gone out the door he came in).
A little known fact for all of you: this song was featured on a Sesame Street album from the '70s called "signs". It also featured Northern Calloway (David) singing "wet paint" and the Temptations' Eddie Kendricks singing "Cross at the Green."
What happened to the video you made with Little Chrissy singing I'm Blue?

Well even if they did try to tell him that everyone left, he probably wouldn't listen.

All the way thru the song you can sense the impending doom the guy's going to get. The song is very dark, almost spooky.

He doesen't know where the exit is, and meanwhile he sang about it, that doesen't make much sense and could it be scarry for kids?

Also on that same album was an oddly mellow cover version of Little Jerry's "Danger" song, sung by Prairie Dawn!

Other tracks included "One Way", "Bus Stop", and "Subway." I cannot remember the artists, but I remember those tracks being on the albumn.
