The anime is great, but the manga is even better if you're willing to dig a little. It's not online anywhere and even though they sell it in bookstores, two volumes (7 and 8) are out of print.

I swear it's worth it, though! It's an ongoing series with an actual honest to god plot and character development. The anime, by comparison, starts off based on volumes 1 to 4 or so, and then sort of just becomes its own thing, hence the "Quack Experimental Anime" label.
