  • I've been doing these for years now but someone at the gym interrupted my work out saying that this exercise was actually bad for the obliques and that one should start out in a neutral position and do almost a standing crunch towards the side without the weight. Any idea what he was talking about?... is this exercise dangerous?

  • This exercise just looks stupid. I tried it the other day, and felt like a total asshole. I see girls doing it all the time, but for me I just think people are laughing at me when I try it. I know I smirk at people I see doing them. What are they supposed to exercise anyways. Especially with light weights.

  • At the gym I work at, the majority of people who perform this exercise are extremely overweight and lack any core stability. Posting videos with exercises like this may have good intentions, but in my opinion you are fueling the "spot reduction" fire. People believe they can eat whatever and do 6 sets of side bends and reduce the fat being stored in those areas which is not true

  • @jgroove33 lol they deserve to be fat

  • can i see your body ??

  • Can you confirm if this is a push or pull workout? I suspect it is pull because gravity is pulling your dumbbell hand down to the ground.

  • @mrturnips It is a pull movement but the reason you stated has nothing to do with it. It's because you "pull" the dumbbell up with your obliques.

  • clean instructions and i can actually see how you're doing it - thanks! :)

  • thank you

  • gr8 video thnks
