Dit Is Het Beste Numer Van Alice Cooper - En Het Was Een Numer 1 Hit . .....en Het Was Niet Eens Een Singeltje Toen Der-Tijd .. Heb Het Singeltje Nog Steets.........

I brought this record to school when i was in grade two lol the whole class was like your weird i was like your weird im cool lol been rocking to Alice since five years old lol
i'm an old man now but this music takes me back to a time in the 1970's when life was great and we didn't give a fuck about anything except getting fucked up on a daily basis, jesus that was the life!!
I've see Alice 12 times. Last time in '06. Indeed WAY before his time. I have the entire "old school" library. Not too much into the newer stuff (Constrictor and such). Sit back, smoke a fattie, and enjoy!!
Sometimes I wonder if it's fair to describe music like this as "ahead of its time", when one considers that stuff like this simply isn't being made that much anymore, and if it is, it's way not mainstream. Also considering that the rock opera and mini opera are just about extinct outside the context of the rock musical. Stuff like Repo: The Genetic Opera is cool and all, but it's not this, nor would it exist with artists like Alice. Great post, thanks!!!
No Vid needed. Thanks for getting the song out there. Not enough people realize how important this song is. tI basically sets the blueprint for what was to become Metal. Listen closely, and see if you can't hear the influence this song had on bands like Metallica, among others.
I respect your 2 cents but if that was totally true there wouldnt have been tons of unbelievable songs that came after! So.....clearly the Coop is the major driving force in ummmmmmmm "Alice Cooper"! Go figure!
I listened the shit outta this one (as well as Fun House) during the 90s when all my friends were thinking that Nirvana and their ilk were something "special."
I've been bouncing around the web - this is on one of the most up to date discussions I've hit - Alice Cooper (the band) rocks !!! I thought I was the only one - it's a weird feeling ! Bands in their early stages always get it right naturally; it's when they "make it " that they blow it.
The original Alice Cooper band was amazing. Welcome to My Nightmare and on had it's moments, but love it to Death, Killer, Muscle of Love and Billion Dollar Babies is Alice's best work.
All the songs from this LP are timeless.Still have the original LP i stole from my brother. I used to listen to this all the time when i was a teenager. The great memories it brings back!!! The best!!! Thanks for posting.
@tgunner74 Man i'm sorry to hear that!! Definitely a serious loss!! I'm glad i still have my brothers,he also had a poster of Alice that was huge with a snake wrapped around him but who knows what happened to that it was so many years ago. Thanks for the reply!!!
@tgunner74 You are definitely right about it being the best album by far! You might come across it again sometime if you check out some used record shops or possibly a flea market. I hope you do find it because it is definitely a must have for a collector!!!
This is one truly underrated rock classic; it should be up there with Stairway to Heaven & Won't Get Fooled Again, & well above Smoke on the Water. This is my personal favourite Aiice track but the vast majority of my faves hark back to when the name was that of the band, not just the artist.
Not quite (for that second part). I would say that this song fits perfectly in its original time setting, as 1971 is in the middle of the wave of prog rock that was taking place in Europe in late 60s, early 70s. But that doesn't diminish any of this song's awesomeness, for sure!
This song is like traveling to a distant place, or lots of different places. The original band has always had the magic touch with their songs. I'm glad that the Hall Of Fame finally inducted them. Alice Cooper finally got the recognition that they've always deserved.
Alice Cooper is THE most revolutionary/evolutionary man that hit the American music scene...literally. The social satire that he used as his finely honed razor, is as keen and vicious today, as it ever was.
The one person who disliked this video needs to be shot at dawn. This is one of the best pieces of rock music organized...ever. They must hate music to dislike such a masterpiece as this.
When I was in junior high school Time Magazine did an article on Alice Cooper. My dad took it away from me, took it to work and he and his friends burned it. I grew my hair longer. He drank another martini. We both eventually got over it.
A masterpiece composition, with a fantastic arrangement and 4 of the BEST musicians backing a unique cultural & guttural voice. Some of America's best export.
...the Coop's voice is merely a novelty over the perfection of this music. Michael Bruce was the real creative force at this point in their history, and justifiably left the band disgruntled about not getting enough credit for his ideas. But sadly, none of their solo careers even came close to duplicating what they did on Killer and Love It To Death. No, not even the Coop in my opinion. Like the Beatles, their collective synergy was what made them great.....my 2 cents
@Enofrappini You can add my money on what you say too, The original Alice Cooper group was simply amazing, they sounded great, looked great and played great. What the fuck was the Coop thinking ditching these guys? To this day 75% of his set list is pre 1975. This song is a prog rock classic. Everything Alice Cooper has done since the band split has been cabaret!
@TheEDZEPPELINBAND thanks for reading.....maybe the best recorded scream by the Coop...about a minute into "Elected"...my vocal chords would have been sore for a week.....
Right about Alice and his melodic screaming. Morrison, too. My Eyes Have Seen You, for instance, and the epic When the Music's Over. But Halo of Flies is such a terrific rock anthem! So unknown..... the fools.
@Enofrappini And raising you two more 2¢. I totally agree. This was very special soundtrack music in my life when I was discovering who I was and where I fit in in this sometimes sick and twisted world.
@Enofrappini Well I sure dont share that sentiment ( though aparently 29 other folks do as of this posting ). I dont know what capacity Bruce continued in but I certainly continued to follow Coop's career with interest and fascination and found that he's made a number of cool albums since ( namely Welcome To My Nightmare, From the Inside, Da Da, Dragontown, Along Came A Spider ). And his distinctively grotesque and demonic vocals were always a crucial aspect the songs, including this one.
@Skulldini .....dude, that's what America was created for! A variety of opinions, and I respect yours. My take on the Coop's career is based on my values and listening preferences. To me, the sound, sincerity and originality of their initial music made the biggest impression on me in the beginning, for whatever reason. Their stuff since has left me wanting for more, though I truly enjoy stuff like Billion Dollar Babies, etc. I'm not a rock critic or even one of the biggest fans out there..
@Enofrappini It's my understanding that, during the days of A.C. the GROUP, Bruce was the main musical composer while Alice wrote alot of the lyrics and contributed mostly to the visual image and stage theatrics and probably gave it the element of macabre humor ( which has been definately present, to some degree, in just about all Coops work ). And Coop has always colaborated with other composers, even on his so called "solo" records.
The last 4 notes (especially after that 2 seconds of silence) played on this song is the most exciting single bar of music in rock history. Proof that Dunaway, Smith, Bruce, and GB were just as integral to the sound as Alice.

Great Alice Cooper Song Infact this was their best piece of music The Alblum cover was the best cover of all time A Boa. In the early seventies this is beyond any what any rock group could ever do.
@TheLoke666 Well, he's definitely one of my favorites at the least. His technical bass skills mixed with his creativity is just awesome. If you ever have a chance, listen to the song Guttercats vs the Jets, and youll see what i mean
damn,alice
what happened that you couldn't keep-up this great music.

I loved this when I was in primary school. Every other kid was like 'What the hell is this shit? Don't you know the backstreet boys?'
The teacher on the other hand: 'No, this kid's got style.'
Imagine the smile that puts on a eight year olds face.
