whahaha I was interested in the ideas behind the Seasteading project. But how can I take this show serious when his into has a picture of Putin an a text "the evil empire".
I thought he was going to mention the terms "private-law society" or "polycentric law" for a second there. I'd like to see that though, I don't think those terms have ever been used on TV. Or at least talking about voluntarism in more economic terms.
Two idiots talking. A typical lie of the Civil War is this notion of tariffs. These come from the tired angry sentiments over the scorched earth policies of General Sherman. The whole beginnings of the Civil War is based on the Declaration of the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union was caused by the facts that the Federal Government refused to enforce the Fugitive Slave Act and clauses in the US Constitution that merited the abolishing of Slavery.
@verymaddog - WAS a motherfucking neocon. He is slowly creeping his way further and further from that agenda as time goes by. He knows Bush was a big spender, and over time he continues to adopt a more small-government streak.
But I highly doubt he will ever join the ranks of Rothbard or David Friedman.
I suggest libertarian seasteads right outside wealthy, nanny-state countries. That way the seastead could simply begin as a gambling resort, which could be a profitable venture. And grow from there.
Heck, there are tonnes of things that come to mind. Gambling, prostitution, drugs, certtain medical procedures, certain violent entertainment, etc. Sin City :D
This is so sad that FREEDOM has been pushed out to sea. I think it is way past time that THE PEOPLE start physically taking over their state capitals and show them what a COUP really is.

Glenn Beck hates America.
Glenn Beck loves disseminating fear.
But most of all...Glenn Beck loves money. Lots of it. And it doesn't matter how it gets to him.

Multiple seasteads, each governed by their own laws? Sounds interesting. It'd be scary if these seasteads decide to collapse into the ocean :/

While I find the idea a bit out there, I wish these guys the best of luck.
Though I get the feeling we'll see some Seasteads pop up that aren't exactly what Lonsdale would approve of...Communist oil rigs, anyone? XD

Beck can't talk about anything without his patented simultaneous praise and mockery technique.
He reminds me of that Kevin Nealon SNL character, the subliminal guy,
who says one thing out loud and then another under his breath. Except
Beck does his schizo routine all out loud.
Beck will claim to be "libertarian" and then proceed to mock "those
crazy libertarians". He's alarmist and then nonchalant about an issue
at the same time.
I'd build an ocean city and then bar him from entry.
