  • It's a cool car and the mileage is great that's what we need. My motorcycle get less mileage and it has no protection from rain or crashing.

  • If the crash don't kill ya the airbags will.

  • I don't get why people are so afraid of the hard plastic. If it is there, it is always mentioned.

  • Action movie inspired car, to escape while cruising.. lol

    Very nice review!

  • I just go carbuyers for reviews not that I have anything against Americans but they just see the speed and stats rather than the practicality as well.

  • I think this a good review but I think The Smoking Tire should do a review on the new Volkswagen Jetta TDI.

  • Very nice job with this review. Lots of good information presented in a fun clear way (which is not actually that easy to do). Refreshing change from what I normally see on YouTube.

  • It's called child locks Matt.... child locks. Check near the locking mechanism on the back doors next time you open them up, when the child locks are on the kids/grandma/dog in the back won't be able to open the door from the inside

  • i like this guy..

  • Awww finally Fiesta beats my Yaris as my future car XD

  • Thanks for the demo Smoking Tire. Man.... Open a or any door at any speed, for sure it is a safety issue. This car is of my list.

  • I like how in the end the camera man said "its a sad life"

  • Good think I won't have kids in my car

  • Its a pretty cool little car, hopefully it runs a long time unlike most Fords which a huge headeaches.

  • how the F did you get to get ken blocks car without someone breathing down your back

  • so if you want to have fun with you you can still get better than 25mpg.... seems worth it to me.

  • I got 44 mpg on the highway in my 5 door hatchback SES. A great car!

  • Took mine to daytona, 3 others and full luggage mpg on interstate 40-42

  • @Davegpmoto21 fgt ngr

  • @Davegpmoto21

lol your dumb shit mind is a death trap the only thing i've ever hit with a ford was a black bear with my 2000 escape and that was at 45 mph and it only broke the grill and bumper so if it was a death trap the suv would have exploded.

  • @Davegpmoto21

yep they're all ive ever driven and ive yet to buy a bad one

  • @Davegpmoto21

okay you're belief is that fords are unsafe yet many survive impacts that may have totaled a different brand car and they have a high percentage of products with five star crash test results.

  • @Davegpmoto21

I still can't understand why someone would have "no brain" to buy this car 14k with an automatic and rear seats that open into the trunk also a standard auxiliary input for an ipod and 36 or more mpg. I'd go with the 4x4 escape myself 22 mpg and only 12k more than this little car.

  • @Davegpmoto21

True i was saying for the hatch but i'd probably buy the sedan anyway because after seeing inside the truck wow for the size of the car you can fit a lot in there. But once im in the market for a new small car in might be the focus vs fiesta nearly identical mpg and much better interior room and acceleration.

  • @Davegpmoto21

yeah for 15k not a bad decision

  • Good one

  • 120 hp like a just like 78 ford mustang

  • I want ken block's fiesta..

  • lol @ the doors opening when "locked" and car in motion, that could be an easy fix though

  • nice review!

  • cool

  • The door issue isnt that big of a deal. If you have kids just put the child locks on and as a teenager or adult you should know not to open the doors while in motion.

  • im so glad my dads buying me 1 to bad i got 2 put the work in my self body kit and paints gonna be a pain but gonna be worth it

  • good review !!

  • On the other hand if you can open a locked door in an emergency then it could be a life saver

  • nice.... yes i cant believe the doors r opening when on the move i dont like that at all though i am going to buy ford..

  • @Reddylion the doors open while moving on every car unless you have the child lock thing on

  • I'm looking into getting my first car. I need something with affordability, reliability, and efficiency. I also want something that's compact. Should I choose this, the Honda Civic, the Toyota Corola, the Smart ForTwo, or something else?

  • @Blackthorne2011 Get a Carolla and put an HKS Turbo charger on that bitch.

  • My sister got this car and I loved it. The only thing is that it seemed uncomfortably small, but I guess that's fine I suppose. Anyways, very close to calling a car dealership... :]

  • I'm still doing research on what car to get. The latest car I've been looking at is the Honda Fit but I went to a forum of Fit owners and read a lot about it that turned me off. Not very good gas milage, paint chips super easily, horrible carpet, noisy at hi-way speed, next to zero front seat adjustment, weak AC, crummy stereo, etc. Sooo I guess I'll give the Fiesta another look-over.:-)

  • @guyNbluejeans try looking for mazda 3 2011 u might like it

  • I'm looking for an economical car, that I can take to college and this seems perfect. I saw a lancer last night, but was not impressed.

  • umm don't open the door then

  • @sirrisracing lol

  • @sirrisracing hahaha exactly

  • @sirrisracing people have kids dumbass

  • @sirrisracing what if u had kids thow

  • @Kevine3000Videos they should have child locks. most cars do. otherwise you would have to teach your kids to not open the door

  • @sirrisracing i think his biggest concern was Children.

  • @sirrisracing he's talkin about stupid lil kids could open it in the back

  • @sirrisracing u must not have kids

  • great review, but I do have to say. I have had three people in my fiesta and power has not been an issue. I have the 6spd auto and merging on the highway is never a big deal. It is not a fast car by any means but it is not under powered!!

  • I agree with everything except the doors opening part...I could not open the back doors when my gf was test driving it. The center unlock button...great idea...in small cars like my accord coupe I sometimes hit unlock by mistake. Comparing it to BMW is not a negative to me.

2 negatives...1- no volume control on steering wheel...everything else except the one used most....2- no auto headlights which just sucks.

Best part besides mpg...its sooo much fun to drive, feels bigger, great car!

  • @vicmackey1268 auto headlights? i hate those, are you too lazy to turn a knob?

  • haha at the end of the video you can hear a camera man say "sad life"

  • How can you open the doors when they are locked?

  • @shoppinggirl125 Most of the Fords I've ever owned will unlock if you try to open the door from the inside (Unless it's a rear door with the child lock enabled).

Matt doesn't like that, but eh, I've never had an issue with that in all the years I've driven a vehicle that does that.

  • I bought mine a couple of months ago and you pull the door handle from the inside while in the back seat twice and door will open. in the driver seat just one pull to open :s but i love the car overall.. :D

  • nice review! keep it up, you'll get a TV show sometime!

  • Anybody notice if you put the word "anal" in front of any Ford vehicle it'll make you laugh?

i.e. Anal Fiesta, Anal Ranger, ect.

  • @mackieflann been playing too much wow.

  • @jamiecypher ...No? I don't even have a WoW account. I just thought that was a funny coincidence

  • 3:13 to 15 bad driving!!!

  • comparing to nissan micra, fiesta is not such a smaaalll car! americans are just too fat! McDonalds ftw right? xD

  • i was looking foward to this then the commercial hit :(

  • Nice review, sir. Thanks!

  • your like guy fierro.... just with cars

  • i will buy kia koup sx 2000 more but alot of thing 170 hp sunroof ect

  • Lmao "I would measure the 0-60 time... but I left my sun dial at home."

  • As an American who has been living in Europe 4 years now, the American car companies here are way better than in the states. The models are way nicer, for example here i drive a Chevrolet Captiva. Overall its better than any Tahoe.

  • @pimpninja1985

You get access to the Diesel Fiesta too. I'm a bit jealous...

  • It depends on a person, i guess. I rent alot of different cars. So it is very easy to compare to other cars. I think if many people would feel that automatic is not shifting correctly, they might just upgrade the software which would adjust it.

I always like to listen to engine, and never turn on the stereo system when I drive( yes, I am crazy) You have to try it for yourself.

  • @immobile2 i understand you. fiesta has a pretty good noise. I drove one year ago and i think it has a nice revy engine which has nice sound for 1.4 l engine.

  • Was driving it today as a Budget rental. It had 3000 KM so it's broken in. Didn't like it. Main reason - Automatic. It seems like one company was building a car and another the transmission. It was THE worst automatic transmission I've experienced in my 20 year driving experience. It just doesn't know when to shift. RMP goes nuts and engine is making too much noise. And when I decided to use a "L" gear while driving around 60 km I thought engine would blow due to high RPM.

    GO WITH 5 SPEED

  • @immobile2 I havnt driven one, but the automatic transmission is supposed to be one of the best out there. It is a dual clutch transmission like most $80,000 european cars have.

  • @immobile2

You have no idea what you are talking about. RMP is ROgue/Mage/Priest and its warcraft. You went to Budget to play WOW? no wonder you didnt like it. RMP is nuts though. very hard to beat.

  • Mazda2.

  • nice presentation man

  • Si cabemos los 5 - #FiestaEnChile

  • I was going to buy one...until I learned we won't get the 3-door hatch.

Fuck you, Ford. I have waited years for you to bring the U.S. this great car, and now you've done fucked it up!

  • Grip through the corners very impressive.lol thats because it can,t pull skin off a rice pudding.

  • "I would measure the 0-60 time, but I left my sundial at home"

Spoiled twat. So if a car can't achieve light speed, even if it's only driven in town, it's slow??

Americans are spoiled by waste. There are some countries where this would be considered a "big" car - but noooo, America wants its 4-ton bully SUV that can climb buildings - even if the only thing Ms. Fat-ass Housewife climbs is the occasional curb at the mall.

And yet we wonder why 2/3 of our car companies are in the shitter...

  • @USAon3 Your fucked in the head bro.

  • @TheRagePassion

Aw, what's the matter? Did I insult you and your SUV and your big dinner spooon?

Reality's a bitch, ain't it. Deal or duck.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRagePassion

You're Canuckian, and you admit it? What has your country done except take up space and lean on the US for help?

Do you cruise gay bars in your Mustang? Do you ask the guys to give up for a motel room because your Mustang has no room in the back seat?

How does it feel to know that you'll never drive a domestic automobile?

6'1" and 157? Jesus Christ, eat something! Get some government help for a hamburger, you anorexic bitch!

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRagePassion

European ROFL! I'm on the same continent you are. Difference is, I'm not standing on tundra.

I don't know what your country has done either other than take up space. My country? Let's see, saved the world from several tyrants, invented or perfected nearly everything you use in daily life (other than back bacon and toques, of course), been to the moon, perfected weather and storm casting.

YOU live as a subject of a QUEEN, fercrissakes! You still belong to ENGLAND and speak FRENCH!

  • Comment removed

  • @TheRagePassion

"If i wanted a domestic automobile I could have anyone I want."

No you can't. Name one vehicle that Canada produces domestically. Just one - and Zambonis don't count. GM isn't headquartered in Canada. Neither is Chrysler. Neither is Ford. Starting to get this now?

Judging by your use of the word, you don't even know what "domestic" means. I suggest you use some of your "millions" and buy a fucking Maybe if it were spelled "domestique"? Would you understand it then, Froggy?

  • @USAon3 Fact is bro, I don't give a fuck.

Because my life will always be better. Your nothing buddy.

Your right I didn't take the word to concept I thought you meant European cars. My mistake guess I should go to university, EH? The truth is I still could own any fucking car I want.

  • @TheRagePassion millions at 22? lol. Face it USAon3 ruined your shit ehh? Since when do Canadians move out of their parents house before age 30?

  • @Warpath2198 Sure, I moved out at 17 into my girlfriends..

  • @TheRagePassion is that suppose to be manly? Here in the U.S. that is called a bitch moved.

  • @Warpath2198 Moving out of my parents? To get sex when ever the fuck i want? Yeah, so bitch.

  • @TheRagePassion dude u already showed u are unmanly. Trading sex for food. That it what housewives do. Manly people buy their own shit and get laid on their own terms.

  • @Warpath2198 No not really, I've already mentioned. My family is very rich. So i get everything i want and me and my girlfriend moved into a very nice house down the street from my parents. SO i didn't really trade shit but being with my girlfriend.

  • Comment removed

  • @USAon3 lol hilarious. I'm glad to see other Americans telling these idiot Euro's and Canadians off. Their ignorance and lack of research is astounding.

  • @USAon3 people like their pickup trucks with back seats and cup holders though lol.

  • @Warpath2198

As fat as some of them are, now they're demanding pizza and wing holders on the options list.

Soon it'll just be Crisco can holders, just to save time.

  • what if you put a mazdaspeed 3 engine in it o.O

  • Also, forgot to mention that the European Ford Fiesta is made in Germany by Germans who have a history of making great cars. The North American Ford Fiesta is made in Mexico by Mexicans who have a strong history in making great tacos, err or is that nachos?

  • @tubefoou

Mexicans make good cars, just look at Chevy Silverados, Ford Fusion, Nissan Sentra, Nissan Versa, VW Jetta and New Beetle, Cadillac Escalade EXT, Ford F-650, Honda CR-V, and Toyota Tacoma.

Mexican labour is good quality but cheaper, that´s why some automakers decide to manufacture cars there. A german made Fiesta would be easily over 20K.

  • @luisinhoens90 are you some kind of idiot? lol. Do you even know how outsourcing works? They didn't move plants to your nation because you "build" it better like Americans can't work an assembly line (that we invented) lol. They moved it there because your money is worth jack shit and they are paying pennies to do the same work Americans would be doing. Silly foreigners.

  • @Warpath2198

No I´m not an idiot, I don´t need to take economics classes, that´s not my business I prefer to build and design, that´s why I´m an engineer.

And don´t tell me we don´t build equally as good as you Americans. I respect people from other countries, you don´t and that pisses my off. You think you are superior just because you´re American. Really? I enjoy going to your country and buy your products and I don´t say a fuck about your people. The only silly person here is you.

  • @luisinhoens90 dude the arrogance you foreigners show is offensive. You build things better really? You are some kind of engineer now? Top ten schools in the world are not Mexican so let's not pretend you are a towering intellect when you dont even know ho outsourcing works.

  • @Warpath2198

I´m not being arrogant. And learn to read well dude. Even I can read better than you and I´m a foreigner. I´ve never said we build things better. But we can build as good as most countries do. Do you find any difference in build quality comparing a Chevy Silverado made in Mexico and another one made in USA? I bet you won´t. You know, all depends on the investments from the companies that pretend to build a particular product here or anywere. Cars aren´t handmade anymore.

  • @luisinhoens90 Uhh no shit dude. The automotive industry uses a lot of automation. So now you read better then I do? Sigh another arrogant foreigner. No wonder your nation is in civil war and poverty.

  • @Warpath2198

That´s what I was saying, but you as always misunderstanding everything I post. All depends on the investments. So that way we can have all the machines used to build a car or any other product.

You always look for something no matter what insignificant it could be to begin a war. Another ambitious and offensive American.

  • @Warpath2198

Do you know that more than 50% of the 90s and newer models from M-B are built in Mexico? C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLS just to name a few.

I´m pretty sure if you have been inside one of these cars you have never complained about build quality. And because you´re Mr. Educated and Mr. economics you know how it feels to be in an E-Class at least.

Move on dude, you generalize so much, the only one looking silly is you.

  • @luisinhoens90 generalize my ass. Your nation is a source of drug cartels, corruption, and crime yet you are arrogant enough to act like working on an assembly line that Henry ford designed for idiots is some kind of show of skill when Americans taught you how to do it and enforce your standards. Let's face it if the U.S. didn't enforce your standards you do things like throw heavy metals and other pollutants in food and materials like Mexico has done before.

  • @Warpath2198

Oh so your country is trouble free with no crime, no corruption and no drug dealers. Oh yeah!! the perfect country!!!

You know, if you do some research about the first reply you put about my first comment you could understand that I´ve never looked to bring this discussion way further like it´s now. I just made a comment about the build quality here and you can´t complain about that. You (Americans) put the standards and we follow them. So? I don´t have any problem with that.

  • @luisinhoens90 perfect? Maybe not but Americans are not flocking to Mexico by the millions either. You don't want to take it here? lol. Don't be mad because you pulled that typical smug arrogance out of your ass I raised the bullshit flag on it. Its very annoying when you foreigners use my American internet and act as if you are superior whn your nation like man others will starve if I decide not to buy something on payday.

  • @Warpath2198

No I don´t need to take it there by that way. I have a passport and I go to your country whenever I want and I don´t go there for work or live there, just for pleasure and to buy some products that here are more expensive (specially electronics).

Come on you look childish when you act like you own everything. Everyone uses internet even if an american invented. A Mexican invented the color TV and I´m not saying stop watching my Mexican TV. You Americans think you know everything

  • @luisinhoens90 wow your dumber then I thought. An inventor named John Baird invented the color TV. You might want to do more research. Lets not pretend the Mexicans invent a lot of world changing things mmkay? The U.S. had more patents then Mexico has tacks.

  • Why would I need to tell lies? Here´s the info.

    Here´s the info:

The world's first patent for a color TV was granted to a young Mexican inventor.

Guillermo González Camarena was just 23 years old in 1940 when he submitted his application in Mexico for a US Patent. He was granted Patent No. 2,296,019 protecting his development of an "improved chromoscopic adapter" using the "Trichromatic" system for color television transmissions.

  • And I´ve never said we invent lots of things, you´re so dramatic Mr. You-know-it-all. or should I say: Mr. Drama?

The fact is you should never make people to look inferior just because their nationality.

    Another fact:

US has more pattents than any other country, however that doesn´t mean all of those inventors are/were american but because US have the resources and sometimes their countries don´t give them the support they need.

  • @tubefoou wow you are guys are uneducated. They make the cars there because of laws and to avoid stiff taxes and tariffs. Just like Japan, Korea, European companies have auto plants here for the same reason lol. You foreigners need to take an economics class.

  • Comment removed

  • @tubefoou

Just look at every european manufacturer selling cars in North America (M-B, BMW, VW, Volvo, Audi ,etc) and their cars aren´s struggling or breaking down. Do you think Japan has the same streets as US?? and their cars manage to survive US roads. don´t compare a 5 year old model Honda Civic (which btw is a compact) to an all new and more equipped subcompact car. I could say get a 2010 Fusion S or a Mazda 6 over a civic EX and it´s the same price.

  • Comment removed

  • You're talking and I can hear much road and engine nose. Also add what should be standard features like Power Windows, A/C and you're up over the cost of a Honda Civic automatic DX-G, which makes the Fiesta a very expensive sub compact car. There are fewer pot holes in most European nations, and they do more flat street city driving, thus the reason for so many small cars. Wait 3 years to see how the struggling Fiesta engine handles North American salt, increase hwy driving, hilly streets.

  • I just bought my 2011 fiesta, 5 speed as well, It's remarkable. As for the door lock feature if you look in the manual it shows that there is a child safety switch when you open the door, all you have to do is flip it up and there you go problem solved. He is right when he said it is slow, really slow, but regardless is just fun as hell to drive.

  • Excelent preview..!! 5 star to your preview about the ford fiesta..

  • Thank You very much Matt, I am about to get one of those but I wanted to keep looking for more reviews that are not from Ford people. Nice video

  • When I first saw Matt I thought : am I having a Soundgarden flashback ?

But - His review style is excellent - obviously competent - I hope to see more.

  • Excellent job.

  • hahahah "all i have is this little internet tv show, and you people."

  • really good review. this is the first of many that actually taught me something about the car.

  • This is what I can call a review. Well done.

  • @Supercooled I don't know why the doors open or if its just the driver door or all doors. I don't know why they made the car that way I'm not an engineer. I do know that Ford is not the only car company that does this BMW is just one other company that does. I also know that In my 12 years as a drive I have never been dumb enough to accidentally open the door while I am driving.

  • @emusignu

Yeah, that feature is common in European Fords. My 2009 Ford Focus II does the same, no matter what speed I´m driving I can open any door even if they´re locked.

I think those cars are for mature people that won´t put their life at risk. Otherwise put the child rear door locks.

  • @emusignu I think it's a safety feature when you get into an accident may be? I suppose if in an accident your external handles are obliterated you can still open from the inside provided your doors aren't caved in. Haha I didn't think very hard on that one but there you go.

  • one of the best small cars i have seen so far

  • LIke your shows however some constructive criticism. More film of car (dash, exterior, seats, person in back), better mic to lessen road noise during guy talking, shot of engine with hood up, more camera shots of car going through road (towards and away). Just had too much of him driving, which is fine, but need more of the other shots too.

I really liked the amount of information, person talking is good, overall good.

  • I just barley ordered my Fiesta Sedan SE with the SYNC, Sound, and Sport package for $15,590. This is my first car and it will be here in 6-8 weeks. Subscribe to see a detailed review and tour of the car when it arrives!

  • @vMercurialz

Wow that´s a good amount of time, I´d be desperated to get it right now.

But I think you made a good deal. Fair price and good features.

Did you order with the 5spd manual or 6 spd auto?

  • @luisinhoens90 Yeah..still isn't here. They are built in Mexico and shipped up on a train. There expecting it Oct. 13-18. I ordered the manuel. I had to stay pretty low on budget. Ill do a full review and tour once I get it! SUbscribe!

  • @vMercurialz

I know that, I´m Mexican and a proud Ford owner (but I have an European Focus II, not the Fiesta).

I´m looking forward to see your review

  • man...... this review was excellent!

well done guys whoever you are

  • finally a good review i real hope you get your own show

  • beating the Yaris and Fit in a track course is like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.

  • @umbc91 hahahahahahahahahaha

  • @umbc91 go to fuelly.com, the average of the 5 2001 fiesta mpg figures is 33.3. then go look at the yaris average mpg.....37-38.

  • @brgroom your missing the point. either way i would never be caught dead in any of those cars.

  • nice review

  • I own a 2011 Fiesta and I am averaging 37 MPG I love it, and it was only $26 to fill up the tank (at 2.75 a gallon) when the low fuel lite came on. I live in south eastern Michigan so I am excited to see how this little car handles in the snow.

  • @emusignu Why does the door open when it's lcoked? Is that so you don't accidentally lock yourself in your car when you've dropped your keys or something? What... it doesn't make sense to me why Ford would still allow the door to open when the lock is engaged.

  • @supercooled

that´s a common feature in European Fords. My 2009 Ford Focus II does the same, no matter what speed I´m driving I can open any door even if they´re locked.

I think those cars are for mature people that won´t put their life at risk. Otherwise put the child rear door locks.

Anyway I think if Ford made some changes to bring the Fiesta to North America (New 6 spd auto, LED parking lights, etc) it would be very easy to put real door locks from the inside, not just the outside.

  • @luisinhoens90 all cars here in the U.S. have auto locking doors. Exports are going to only follow the laws of the host nation. When I lived in Japan the cars were way more unsafe then their Japanese counterparts in the U.S.

  • @Warpath2198. if you have owned one car for 150,000 how can you comment on how good/bad other makes of cars are? i comment from what i,ve owned and had trouble with. if your a FORD fuck boy don,t bother commenting back.

  • @santclause1 we don't live on a small island. It take 5 days of constant driving to get across the U.S. People take road trips here and its not uncommon to own more then one vehicle and drive 30+ miles each way to work. With that being said Ford and its sub companies make a great product. I only hear complaints about their trucks.

  • @Warpath2198. do i sound like a retard? america is not a small island eerrrr deeerrrr. you lot get shafted with hatches. best at the moment= 200CUP,FOCUS RS,MEGANE RS, and your country won,t see any[ maybe megane ] if you cry enough.

  • Great review, great car. The Fit and the Yaris are just in the segment to be there to make some money....now they'll actually have to make the car worth driving once the fiesta really hits the street. Cars like this are nothing but good for us consumers !

  • Its still a ford I give it 1 year before they start breaking down

  • @chevelle454ss1 lol really? are you just being a troll or have facts to back it up?

  • @BetterDayz19 fact is its a ford and yeah about a year and they're gonna be getting recalled or defective

  • @chevelle454ss1

Yeah, whatever dude. Your comments won´t stop people to buy this great car.

  • "they're gonna be getting recalled or defective"

which is still better than the whole fucking company going under for being defective and having to be bailed out by billions of taxpayer dollars we'll never see again. Not to mention taxation without representation for the people not stupid enough to own a GM (Great Mistake) vehicle.

I've owned both GM and Ford. The GM was in the shop every other week. I had a Ford last 12 YEARS without needing major repair work.

    You can keep your Barrymobile.

  • @USAon3 All cars do that you dipshit son of a bitch
