Don't take offense to the following since I give you did excellent by acing every section.

I think it's also possible to play it in slow motion, full combo it, grab an audio of the vocals play since it won't sound any different between 0% and 100% (As demonstrated by RockBandContent), then speed it up (If they have a number like 25% or 50% as an option, that would make it easier). If you can't do that, cutting out a little more of the "blank" precisely and accurately would work.

Well, you gotta think about how the song is graphed. If half the song isn't guitar, drums, or bass, and if they hold the rights to mix and crop the song, then they could make the song shorter than have the player wait through 4 or 5 minutes, not doing anything. Plus, they could only have the rights to SOME of the song, not all of it. It's complicated to get music.
