I own a Suzuki Swift 1.5 GLS manual. It's a solidly built and very reliable little commuter - not to mention being the cheapest way to buy a Toyota (yes, they use Toyota engines!).
The only downside is the name "Swift". I found the performance on this car rather disappointing. The car does well on level surfaces but really struggles at altitude; particularly on hills due to the Torque being produced too high in the rev range. You have to push that engine to squeeze those Kw's out!
i bought one of these. it's pretty fun to drive. everytime there's someone in front of you, you just wanna drop it down a few gears and overtake

I wouldn't consider the Sport a hot hatch. More of a warm hatch. I think it's the best value-for-money warm hatch on the market.
