  • who can hate this song?

  • haha used to play this on guitar when i was about 9

  • LA CANCION MAS PERFECTA DE PINK FLOYD

  • I'm tired of hearing how high you are.

Keep that shit to yourself. Shut the hell up. Damn.

  • @GreenGearMood im kinda high right now, im actually smoking a bowl right now and ill probably smoke another after this one!

  • transition from 'us and them' to 'any colour you like' is better than sex

  • weed percaset and keg stan plus this song = world fucking spinning

  • mine too. XO

  • my life has revolved around this song. X

  • @andrewcrts1

    so you're crazy?

  • pink floyd didnt even do drugs so why does everyone talk about weed on thier videos

  • @JAKETHEGREAT11100 Pink Floyd didn't do drugs? LOLOLOL!!! Funniest comment ever they we're, and probably still are, huge potheads and heavy users of pschyadelic drugs just like all the great bands of the 60's-90's. Lack of drug use is how you get shitty music like Nickleback and the shit today.

  • @GotAmmo21 I wouldn't say that, psychedelic rock is definately more powerful than most types of music, but music is about talent and expression, that can usually make a good song, drugs don't really have anything to do with it.

  • @12345ISIS12345 You've clearly never done drugs...

  • @GotAmmo21 Well yes, and I don't plan to, they are a waste of time and can damage your health. I didn't argue anything about drugs, all I said was that this music is good (a music that originates from drugs) is good but other music is good too, you don't need to have done drugs to appreciate psychedelic rock, I'm not arguing about listening to it while on drugs, but even then, it's the drug itself that makes it so good and not the music, this music is pretty basic stuff.

  • @GotAmmo21 no they didnt. roger waters did like acid or something and started being a dick and they pretty much kicked him out of the band. david gilmore and the others were not drug heads. im not saying they never tried weed or anything but they didnt do drugs and they definately didnt need drugs to make music, they are music geniuses.

  • @JAKETHEGREAT11100 He took acid and became a dick? You've clearly never done acid. Who ever told you this is full of shit.

  • @JAKETHEGREAT11100 They must have done LSD at least, for a start they're a psychedelic rock band, I have seen a music video and it's basically them videoing themselves while on Acid. I don't think they would have took weed, but talking about weed/acid on a psychedelic rock video is expected.

  • @12345ISIS12345 for my response just read the reply to gotammo21

  • @JAKETHEGREAT11100 Every single member of Pink Floyd did all sorts of drugs. One of their old members (Syd Barrett) used them to the point of insanity, and many of their songs are heavily inspired by drugs of all sorts. People talk about these drugs because they had such a heavy influence on the band and their music. Plus, drugs are 'fun'.

  • @FlyingTofuRAWWR I agree and Anybody who has a problem with drugs of any kind whatsoever should listen to THIRD EYE by tool (AEnima version not Salival).

  • there`s 21 sad people on this planet!

  • oh i get it if the sun is eclipsed by the moon were all on the dark side of the moon

  • Stop wasting your life with weed and try acid a couple of times. There's no need to stay high forever.

  • My math teacher brought me here.........:L:L

  • @DouchebagsOfficial63 Haha, my math teacher and I had an long conversation about Pink Floyd during class one day. The rest of the class were like 'WTF are they talking about?'

  • this is dangerously incredible on acids.

  • PINK FLOYD HAS BEEN MY LIFE SINCE I WAS A BABY IN MY MOMS STOMAC. MY HIPPIE DAD ROCKED OUT TO IT. AND NOW I LOVE PINK FLOYD. and yes drugs are a big part of my life now. but im successful and go to school so thats okay.

  • @Arnorith24 thanks for sharing

  • @Arnorith24

in " and yes drugs are a big part of my life now. but im successful and go to school so thats okay."

why do you say "so that's ok"? makes it seem like drugs are a bad part of your life.depends from person to person really, and how their bodies react to it.

  • @yofera50 your right, its doing nothing wrong. well i don't know maybe in the long run but im not thinking ahead at the moment. Living in the moment.

  • @Arnorith24 "and drugs are a big part of my life now, but im successful and go to school so thats okay"

    i lol'd

  • @Darkblossomxx hahahahah good.

  • @Arnorith24 you must be that one guy somewhere in the vagues of planet earth whose life is the exact same as mine.

  • why hasn't anybody mentioned that this song is about syd barrett.? Because everybody that's commenting about acid are too fried to know anything about him

  • My house is slowly falling apart and I'm in space with davids2kk. Seems legit to me

  • the guitar on the leslie speaker sounds amazing with this song

  • Comment removed

  • SO - SO - SO VERY TRUE...

  • they seem a little contrived without the acid

  • Drugs, Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd, Drugs. Who cares both are awesome

  • I see Eric Clapton - Cocaine and wonder...

What the fuck is this doing here, being related to Pink Floyd?

  • amazing song! Pink floyd is Great!

  • not the same 20+ years later

  • @mirnybarnes view australian pink floyd

  • :) This song is unexplainably amazing.

  • keep Pink Flod's Brain Damage above Emenem's :D

  • @SuperMatt31 oh stop

  • Don't know about you, but this song makes me hate everyone on Earth.

  • Dark Side of the Moon has a bigger and better climax than sex, and that's a fact.

  • @Becadefia Depende. ¿Sexo con quién?

  • @Medji07 Anyone!

  • @Becadefia especially on acid

  • @Becadefia HAHAHA

  • @Becadefia no doubt

  • Sorry for this question but I don't understand word

" forebodings " in brain dammage. Can someone explain me what it's mean ?

    Thanks

    Behache

  • @behache60

Foreboding is a strong feeling of something bad about to happen.

  • Uma das canções mais lindas que já ouvi.

    Marco

    Belo Horizonte

  • planets LOL what planets

  • @nkmcfrln what crawled up your ass and died?

  • what a great way to finish an album

  • suite of the century

  • @Dogfuckedthepope i always though the went to an asylum. but i'm not really sure so i'll take your word for it. Also you can't say that this song wasn't inspired at all by Syd. Anyway I was just trying to show the person in the original comment that this wasn't some shallow stoner band. they thought deeper than that.

  • Dear youtube, when i search "eclipse" I don't want to see twilight bullshit. I want to see pink floyd first, thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • why am i standing on a planet wtf !!!

  • @davids2kk dude genius i'm just really high and its a very good question to point out kudos too you my good man

  • Comment removed

  • first time i hear pink floyd and i have to say this is real music fuck rap that shit it crap

  • "thee lunatic is oon the grass" wtf!

  • Comment removed

  • @cookiemonster1990ily You realize that the person that this song is about wasn't on drugs right? it's about Syd Barret who was one of the original members of Pink Floyd. he even came up with there name. in there early years he had a mental breakdown and had to go to an insane asylum which he died in later. So obviously this song is dedicated to there friend who they lost. Are you that naive to think that a song like this is just about some cheap drug like pot? Its much deeper than that.

  • @jonnyboy741 I may want to correct you in some points. Syd Barret was indeed on drugs, and that was one of the reasons his brain was the way it become and the other members stopped doing drugs. That was years before this song, so, yes, this song is not about drugs.

Other fact is Syd Barret only died recently, in 2006, and this song was released in 1973, so the song at the time wasn't for a friend they lost, but rather to a friend that was passing through a hard moment.

  • @CrashRHCP i agree. i also remember when he died. what i meant was that they lost him to the mental institute. reading me post now i realize how it sounds. Also i did know that they did drugs i was just trying to show @cookiemonster1990ily that this isn't all about drugs. thanks for clearing it up though!

  • there's classical music at the very last few seconds if you turn it up REALLY loud

  • in case you get the idea that weed is always fun :)

  • If you've never tried coke, 4:00-5:17 is basically a mental timeline of doing a bump

  • Why did I have to decide to listen to Dark Side two years after quitting weed?

    *sigh* It's still amazing

  • @jhiller21 You can still enjoy music without weed. If you're going to hold on to the mentality that nothing is any good without being high you might as well start smoking again. If you want to quit, then take joy the way it is. And this song is a perfect place to start haha!

  • @jhiller21 here's a quick example of what smoking weed might be like right now:

    it is:

sad that you and I will likely be dead in 80 years.

sad that eventually no one will exist to remember the cool shit we did and saw.

sad that since brain states are private, misunderstandings and thus war are inevitable.

sad that there is no a priori reason or meaning that underlies existence.

sad that it is so hard to make people care about fundamental causes and explanations.

  • @chrisagehman

You can be educated without focus only on money. Some things can't be buy man, I guess one day you will realise it by yourself.

  • Ponies

  • @thejoj96 Confound these ponies, they drive me to post comments on videos having absolutely nothing to do with said confunding ponies!

    >_> <_< *brohoof* *runs away*

  • On the eighth day God created Pink Floyd.............

  • @craig50 Hahahahhahahahahahaha That's it!!! Rock on :)

  • The lunatic is on the grass? Is this next to A fool on a hill?

  • great floyd...what an album...

  • I find it rather ridiculous that the highest rated comment on this video is me schooling some wee troll. Someone needs to say something epic about pink floyd.

  • @hitthatperfectbeat I'll do that.

You don't need drugs to enjoy Pink Floyd. You need Pink Floyd to enjoy drugs.

  • hell yeah

  • questa è la canzone che preferisco! 19 non mi piace!!!!!!!!! ahahahah

  • Oh yea? ( Random person who comments on a video ) Well, I disagree with what you have to say because my opinions are the only ones who matter! AND HERE IS WHY! Now lets get into a completely egotistical argument about shit we know nothing about and waist time when what we should be doing is listening to music and pulling that nine inch rod out of our fucking asses.

  • @chrisagehmam

I am not saying that money is bad. But I think our society focus to much on it. You change computer and cell phone almost each year it's insane. I don't escape the real world by taking drug. But the real world could be a lot nicer.. anyway, it is not by posting comments on Youtube that it will Help :P

  • @ThePeacemakeur

Good for you. I, personally, love money and, admittedly, am obsessed with it. I look for every way to save, and often spend weekends on "profit outings."

Our society is't focused enough on money, higher education, and entrepreneurship. If you've gone to college, you know what I mean. If you've gone to middle school, you know what I mean. See what I'm saying?

  • I met my boyfriend because of Pink Floyd (L)

  • Wait - why do i care if America dies? Thats a liberating thought

  • @johnpotter26 oh that is so LIBERATING Take a few letters out of that and turn the I in to a Y and you can SEE the Liberty in that word....People these days, what can I say, MORONS?

  • by the way my nipples can cut diamonds right now! thats how epic this song is!!!!!!!

  • 19 people are Justin queeber fans.....and like one of you said have brain damage also lol

  • this is a perfect ending to a perfet album

  • Don't forget about "you're." It happens constantly!!

  • @chrisagehman man who cares? peice of paper with numbers on it don't worth a lot to me, Song like these one worth a lot to me, my family and friends worth a lot to me, art worth a lot to me, love worth a lot to me. Maybe our psychedelic world is not enough realistic for you, but I am happy in it. Sorry for possible spelling mistake My first language is french.

  • @ThePeacemakeur

Well, money in general don't mean a lot to yuh. For those of us who do care about our money, drugs are not an option. It's great that you can escape the real world with drugs, but we chose not to, and instead try to create a perfect world without substance abuse.

  • The transition from 'Brain Damage' to 'Eclipse' is just too amazing.

  • @SgtCrumpet It really is, it goes from this subdued, sort of controlled song, to just an explosion of energy. And this perfect piece of music ends amazingly, with that line "There is no dark side of the moon really... Matter of fact it's all dark". Some people think a song is good if you can't get enough of it, but I think this album actually gives you enough to be satisfied, to me that is musical perfection, when you're done you just come out of the realm of your mind and say "Wow....".

  • @SgtCrumpet Yes.

  • @chrisagehman If I may enter in this little argument for a moment. You are listening to a song by pink floyd and looking at a prism reflect light. Not one of your little political video's, so if i may ask could you please stop talking about politics and just listen to the song good sir?

  • @MrBBnumber9

It's not a little argument, it's the one that decides whether America will fail and fall into civil war or succeed and reclaim it's position as the greatest country in the world.

But I know, I get your point.

  • The Man and the Journey is the name of a unreleased conceptual music piece by Pink Floyd - We have our The (Vegetable) Man & The Journey

Airwaves lost in the labyrinth? Another vegetable. If you have a listen; Hope you like it

  • Huge fan, great song.

  • best song ever

  • 18 people have brain damage

  • wow .... all the childish comments sure take away from the music . thsi is why i have stopped scrolling down to read comments ......so much childish nannie nannie boo boo comments .........should have to .... show age on comments (not that i haven't seen some youngsters make good sense or the other way around too ....

  • One of my favorite songs.

  • Who could dislike these awesome songs ? WTF .

Great Music, Great Lyrics , Thank You !

  • dear youtube, when i search "brain damage" i dont want to see eminem bullshit. i want to see pink floyd first, thank you

  • @MrGemod EMINƎM isn't "bullshit" but you're ignorant, a dork, and you're not even musical along with anybody that gives you a thumbs up just the way you like it. Bullshit artists like Stevie Wonder and Elton John appreciate how good he is along with countless others musicians and artists of the same caliber.

"dear youtube" lol you're a pantywaist!

  • @nkmcfrln -_- please. STEVIE WONDER AND ELTON JOHN?!?!? shut the fuck up, they are amazing. alot better than the fucking whiny ass eminem who always talks about "I LOVE YOU KIM" "DRUGS AND KILLING ARA AWESOME!1" fuck you, you dont know what real music is -_-

  • @MrGemod Oh yeah, I don't know anything about music I'm not a musician and I don't even look like one and you're not a dork: Tell me all about Pink Floyd? Pigs on the Wing parts 1 and 2? What type of song was this originally? Name a German brand of microphone used by Pink Floyd that's known for their headphones? Gilmour is known for using what brand of amplifier on stage that boasts tons of headroom? What is meant by "headroom?" Where does Gilmour get his distortion from?

  • @MrGemod What's the connection between Pete Townshend and David Gilmour? What's the connection between Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Kiss and Nine Inch Nails? Who did the hand written lyrics and track listings for Animals? Gilmour is known for using what brand of amplifier that boasts tons of headroom? Hipgnosis album covers give you feeling if being where? There was a limited edition of Animals using what type of vinyl? Was the sex of the Pink Floyd Pig that was used for the 'In The Flesh Tour.?"

  • Comment removed

  • @MrGemod What type of fighter plane was used for for Pink Floyd's tour for The Wall? What's the sound you're hearing at the end of 'In The Flesh' part 1 and what does it have to do with Roger Waters father? What type of fighter plane was used for Roger Water's tour for The Wall? What studios were used for the recording of The Wall and what caused the band a great deal of anxiety? What is the connection between N.W.A. and Pink Floyd and R.E.O. Speedwagon?

  • @MrGemod In essence what is PINK FLOYD about? What is the equation between PINK AND FLOYD? What type of a rock n' roll band was Pink Floyd from their first album to their last and the answer is not progressive?

Was Stevie Wonder paid along with Elton John to praise his work. Why is Elton John a personal friend of the "homophobic" EMINƎM? He's achieved massive commercial critical success rapping about completely un-commercial subject matter i.e. hating his mother, girlfriend etc.

  • @MrGemod You tell me to shut up etc. and you're a fucking dork! I grew up in a house with somebody who had a classical record collection that was around 45,000 and a grand piano. I was taught at a conservatory. I'm a pure rock n' roll fan and a pro guitarist and I can can distinguish between what is brilliant and what's crap? I give credit where it's due and I appreciate that EMINƎM is Incredibly good at what he does and a creative genius. Tell me all about the crap that I collect on my channel?

  • all of you shut up and enjoy the music

  • And if europe collapse's..Ill see you on the Dark Side of the Moon...

  • @TheThingOfDestiny lol thats fucked up man, hope they get that Euro business settled.

  • @TheThingOfDestiny

    Same thing here:

And if Barack gets re-elected fou more years,

And if there are no brains upon the hill,

And if they pass tax hikes and regulations too,

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon!

  • The story of my life, in a song.

  • Never again, after this, has there ever been an album that nothing but perfect songs.

  • One of their ABSOLUTE most brilliant record , i saw them 3 times live , open air , and in the second half they play the whole "dark side of the moon" while the real sun going down behind the stage , it was the best concert , i was SOO HIGH ;-D

  • This is my dad's favorite band, and it's growing on me too. Pink Floyd is phenomenal, and so is this song.

  • "There is no dark side of the moon really...as a matter of fact its all dark"

  • @THTS1981 still makes most people think though,

  • @DDBSPDTTAH

@5.24 ...and turn the volume up a bit :)

  • looks like 16 deaf people decided to take a look at this song

  • @sprinbc Even deaf people have to enjoy this.

  • I dont care what its supposed to "mean".

Every person perceives and enjoys Pink Floyd in their own way.

For those who are true rockers- I salute you.

  • 16 People are known to the state of California to cause cancer and are considered as ignorant fuck-tards.

  • This song, on this album, is the pinnacle of modern music. It may be that someday something will surpass it, but not for some time.

  • The perfect end to a perfect album.

  • got to keep the loonies on the path, otherwise one gets off and starts giggling uncontrollably.

  • Why does Twlight come up before this in search?

  • lsd and pink floyd equals a great night

  • favourite part of the album

  • How am I supposed to be happy when the first thing that pops up when I type in eclipse is fricking twilight.

  • how the hell did i go 23 years without liking this?
