  • this gme literally beats the shit out of GoW and Halo.

  • you want to know how the hell is this game

just watch the intro the creepy music dead bodys and baby metroid in the midle

i finish the game and trus me i just said my god this is the best adventure game in the world

  • Oh yeh dude you hit the nail right on the head. This game is so freakin addicting it ain't even funny.

  • This was one of my favorite SNES titles. I'll never forget the fight with Mother Brain.

Have you ever seen the Metroid comics?

  • hell yea I agree with you on that, that final battle imo is epic....that battle is awesome agree with you there. As for the comic, I am afraid not, is it good though? I have not heard alot on it, but a metroid comic would be cool though to read...

  • I first found the Metroid comics back when they put them in the Nintendo Power magazines.

I've only read one comic and the one I read told of Samus's origins.

I would have loved to see the face of the first guy to get 100% on the first Metroid game and found out Samus was a woman. Thats another thing about this game, it was the first to have a female protagonist.

  • Oh yea I heard about those, and I may be wrong but I heard there was a manga too but Icould be wrong lol..

And yea lol I remember when I played Metroid as a kid, back then and that caught me off guard, of course I had help from my cousins to get 100% but yea that caught us off guard to find out Samus was a girl...Who is your favorite female protagnist in game?

  • I don't know about any Metroid Manga. If I hear anything I'll tell you.

My favorite female protagnist in a game? I can't really choose XD

I wish they had kept Metroid in its classic look...the 3D Metroid games aren't too good in my opinion.

  • Thats cool about you not having a favorite, its hard to choose, as for teh 3d metroids, in my opinion I really liked metroid prime alot, but could not get into the 2nd one...but thats cool you dig the 2d metroid I respect your opinion..to be honest I am the same way you are with metroid with castlevania, I am not big into the 3d ones, but love the 2d castlevanias to death though...

  • Requim for a dream at the start my favourite song!

  • mine too along with Here comes the king

  • Actually, it's SR388 :)

  • Hey this was one of my greatest best of all games ever out on SNES. I was always addicted to it. I laughed when I saw Super Metroid at the stores and the malls. I love to download it and play it again. Hehehe :-)

  • SNES games do look good. They sure look better than GBA games and those are 32 bit and SNES games are 16-bit but yeah SNES games do look good, absolutely. More why something kicks ass videos. How 'bout Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. I could go on for hours on why that game kick ass.

  • Favorite metroid game, next being metroid fusion for gba

  • One thing I love is how each Metroid game looks amazing for its console. Even on the NES, it had an organic look. In particular, the Primes looked amazing. The environments were breathtaking. Of course, the gameplay is equally amazing.

  • You are absolutely right about that, and when you make the transition to a different part of a planet it feels natural....great point!

  • It manages to look really good on the DS, too. Too bad the DS version is a piece of shit its single player.

  • Oh yea, the Metroid Prime hunters, I think MP is fun, but yea the SP is defintely not metroid....It was too levely for a metroid games, and thats one thing Metroid is not...

  • HELL YEAH< METROID!!!!! your right, it is beautiful, still is, and FUN

  • i loved this game. oh my god i got so into it. i was into everything metroid based, until the wii metroid prime 3. it didn't feel like metroid to me.

  • Hell yea my man, I have not played MP3 but why was it different fromthe other games???

  • gd review I was never good at the metroid series though found it puzzling.

  • I have both the game and pc, but in this case my capture stuff did not work so I used an emulator

  • wow great that u picked this game,it was brilliant and i must say it wasnt an easy ride,it was allso good value for money as the game was very big!!!!till today it still kicks ass even the nextgen ones!!!

  • Thank you Megus. I'm a big fan of the metroid series and I've played all the games in the original series except this one. Which really bugs me!!! So thank you for showing the first part of that game. Just from what you've shown (especially the space station turning as your trying to escape) it does look like the best in the series and I look forward to seeing your full play through with commentary.

P.S. Do you know anything about metroid 5? Or if there is even going to be one?

  • Magus, why are these people comparing Super Metroid to overrated mediocre games like the Halo series? That is just wrong.

  • I donot know, I do agree though it is comparing apples to oranges.....they are completely different style of game, not doubt about that...Personallyy I would compare the metroid series to the castlevania, particularly the post Symphony fo the night games, as they have a similiar style...but thats just me.

  • Dude, I totally agree. This game is a definitely a classic! I'd kill for an enhanced remake of this for the DS... :)

  • @GoldenTalesGeek never remake a classic. suer mario 64 ds prooves it.

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa I disagree. Super Mario 64 DS was awesome. I liked that we could play as Yoshi, Wario, and Luigi in addition of Mario.

  • @GoldenTalesGeek yeah, i liked the new ideas and the multiplayer, but the control is awful, and Mario doesnt move faster like in the Original, and the touch screen is almost useless

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa Ah, but Mario does move faster, you've just gotta press the Y button to do so. And honestly, I found the control scheme better in the DS version. Not as many buttons to memorize what does what.

  • Magus my friend you dont need to tell me this game kicks ass, I know it first hand lol. I've beaten this game countless times and love how badass it is even today. Its one of the best games ever, not just on the SNES :)

  • Yep, this is indeed one of the best games ever.

  • i fucking love this game man!one of my favorites on the snes!this is the best 2D metroid in my opinion.

  • Thanks for doing this video, I love Super Metroid, my favorite game in a series that I'm huge fan of. I'd also give this game a perfect score.

Probably among one of the best games I've ever played when I was a kid and it still holds up.

  • This is probably one of my favorite games! I still have the original SNES cartridge as well! I must've beaten this game like 10 times since I a got it for Christmas when it first came out in 1994!

Has any one ever tried speed running this game? I got around 1:12, but that was years ago.

  • Oh I forgot to add, the end sequence in this game is fucking intense! My first play through, my heart was beating extremely fast on that portion of the game!

  • I agree I love that opening sequence!

  • Hey Douglas, I am not good at all at Speed Runs but the fastest I completed the game was 1:30 but 1:12 is pretty impressive thoguh my man....

  • I agree, that's one of the best SNES games (and on VC),I love the Metroid games,I hope they make a new one for DS and/or Wii,but in 2-2,5D,maybe for WiiWare?

  • Maybe!

  • It really is one of the best games ever.

  • Definitely an incredible game, I just wish it was longer.

  • A classic, underrated game that more than holds up well today.

  • Correction. SNES game looks better than ALL 3D games ;)

Ofcourse i say that as a pixelartist :P

  • One of THE BEST SNES titles ever!

  • u no, i havnt beaten it yet

  • Awesome vid man!!! I love Super Metroid!!! Its my favorite SNES game!!

  • metroid always kicks ass never forget that

  • A friend of mine SesakaBlargh has a small collection of Super Metroid gameplay videos. Maybe you should watch them.

  • I definetly will my man!

  • Agree it does kickass XD

  • Yes, there are still many SNES games that are awesome, awesome to look at, awesome to listen to, etc. And lets not forget that a lot of 16-bit games are just plain fun. If I may give a slight request for a future look into the Megaman X games on SNES.

  • Well put my friend and thats an excellent idea, I love the MegamanX games....I think the X Series and the original Megaman series rock....ANd I will defintely do a metroid vid!

  • Metroid was the Halo of the 90s. A great game, and very enjoyable.

  • Yes I also see something different and better in SNES games than current gen games.

  • you are so right!

  • Yeah, Super Metroid was on of my #1 favorites as a kid.

  • Dude. I agree. Without Metroid, We won't have Halo, Half Life and other shooting games.

  • Apples and oranges.

  • I Do Agree With You Magus...Metroid Kicks ASS.
