I would have loved to see the face of the first guy to get 100% on the first Metroid game and found out Samus was a woman. Thats another thing about this game, it was the first to have a female protagonist.

SNES games do look good. They sure look better than GBA games and those are 32 bit and SNES games are 16-bit but yeah SNES games do look good, absolutely. More why something kicks ass videos. How 'bout Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time. I could go on for hours on why that game kick ass.
One thing I love is how each Metroid game looks amazing for its console. Even on the NES, it had an organic look. In particular, the Primes looked amazing. The environments were breathtaking. Of course, the gameplay is equally amazing.

I donot know, I do agree though it is comparing apples to oranges.....they are completely different style of game, not doubt about that...Personallyy I would compare the metroid series to the castlevania, particularly the post Symphony fo the night games, as they have a similiar style...but thats just me.
@GoldenTalesGeek yeah, i liked the new ideas and the multiplayer, but the control is awful, and Mario doesnt move faster like in the Original, and the touch screen is almost useless
