I think I heard - the water has abrasive particles in - wondered if they could use edible particles - so I could make a machine to trim the crusts off my toast

As I don't want my toast all soggy I thought of using a air instead of water

Air doesn't have the mass to cut metal. You must have inertia to drive a particle of something through metal plate.
