am i the only one who thinks that using a brush is rather easy if you just watch what you are doing? i don't see any diffuculty in this, but it is good art im not saying anything else. :)
@159tony Skilled people make stuff look easy. Is your opinion based on your experience? If it is and you get good results, great. If it's just from watching the video, try to actually do it and tell me how it goes. I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I just find it difficult as hell, and I have to do the opposite to get better results. Obsessing too much always render my lines wiggly and insecure.
@stereo123 Experience. Brushes are my strength on inking, but technical pens are kinda harder for me, because i cant really control the weight of the line that much
I hear you about the skill level, man. People today don't value hand-drawn work like they used to. Too much CGI. I will always draw by hand, and I will support others who do so as well.
OMG his hand moves so smoothly!!! unlike mine that shakes too much....but I can do that sometimes if I'm lucky...but with a pen. A brush needs more control in order to make a smooth line. That person really deserves respect!! I wish the vid could've been longer :-)
@zf4126 Probably just a decent sable brush...you get a really sharp point with a good one. If you trimmed a brush you're more likely to render it USELESS! Unless you're Milton Caniff...but that's another story...
I wish I could do clean line work like that, my stuff's sketchier. My hands aren't steady enough to do brushwork like that man, you're amazing with it.
I usually use a nib but I just got some new brushes, so this has inspired me, I use india ink, I want to try colored india ink though! FOr now I gotta stick to me color & design hw (I hate acrylic paints! ;P) until I have time for by own work.
@76ComicFan Hahaha I'VE TRIED A LOT! That's why I say it XD I just never get to control it appropriately no matter how hard I try :P And when it comes to hotties, I give up until they try to kill me XD
@Miganishi Cuase the hotties are getting the "I'm desperate" vibe from you. Just talk to them like you would your best friend. If she's interested, she'll let you know.
much respect n Im trying out brush inking. you sir are an inspiration to me. nice fem character. I also draw in computer with Wacom intuos 4 small but its still cool to draw n do things traditional wise.
The computer comment is agreeable, but not. Using the computer to make amazing art still takes skill, it doesn't do it for you. And why should it be a bad thing to make something easier?
im starting with ink drawings, always did in pencil.... its hard to have a steady hand as you said...do you know some tips for it? i mean , e.g. i heard that drinking coffee makes your hands be more like shaking so if youre gonna draw dont drink coffe.... is that true?
What brand of brush you use? What type of ink did you use? What kind of paper did you use? Sorry for all these questions lol.

HOT PICTURE MAN!
Great tutorial.
I just started inking with a brush a few weeks ago, and was looking for tutorials over the internet.
Also, what kind of ink do you use with your brush.
It would be great if you got back to me man! ( or if anyone els has any preferences of ink, I don't mind if you send me a reply!)

Very good demo.Two objections.
1.This is not a lost art.The industry is full of brushes and it's going to stay that way.
2.Sure it takes practice but not years. Not for me at least.
