the saints had more musicality than most of the punk acts of the day, up there with the clash. that's why they got bored with punk and went in a more r&b direction...then broke up :( sorry that's my spew but it's fairly obvious kevinherbert dosent know shit about this band.

Opinions on the quality of Music are purely subjective but I love the raw energy of bands like the Saint's, their contemporaries like the Ramones and their predecessors like the Stooges. You attack them for being "school boys" wanting to hit the stage. I personally can't see anything wrong with that and love the DIY music concept. Whether it be music or sport, I am more entertained by an amateur with passion than a pro going through the motions.

Nobody can really be to fucking sure anyway.. either way you look at it these guys wrote a lot of great songs and who wouldn't be an angry motherfucker in Brisbane in the late 70s.. it was (and is starting to become again) a police state. Gah. I think they are an important band.
