@LILTATE33 Pm what does that mean? I live in Michigan so if it is a Florida term do not know what it means. Oh my nephew also set a HR record he domlished it it was like 7 for the season he hit like 10 or 11 almost 1 a game.
when you throw have your glove tucked in when finishing and make sure you follow through all the way instead of stopping half way. youll get more velocity if you finish with you hand lower and your leg up
I'm pretty sure no one gives a shit how fast you can throw, you have no proof anyway so shut the hell up kids, I doubt any of you are telling the truth anyway.
@veitbeast123 Well for 10 that is pretty good 50-55 better then most. My 10 yr old nephew is a freak they finally put a radar gun on him & was throwing in warmups 63. You can check it out if you like in florida west seminole lake all-star team his name is Rese. They figure in games he is throwing about 65.
@pttxjack biggest fuckin lie ever. you play on a short field so everything seems fast. no need to lie to kids on youtube. i used to say the same kinds of things. you dont throw 65 so get over yourself
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I see a number of technical errors in the kids balance position, hand break, ball position, stride and release that if corrected would help him continue to be a "good" pitcher. If he is actually getting 50mph with his current technique, he could add another 7 or 8 miles and hour with some advanced technical coaching. In my 20 years of experience as a pitching coach, I tend to see the good pitchers fall as they get older because they never learn the right tech.
Bad technique of seperation (taking ball out of glove), dropping hia arm too low, should be up more, other fundamentals are good, if you do not fix this it may lead to should/arm surgery later.
pretty good. just make sure to get a better follow through and when he brings the ball back he doesnt really have a "loop", just kinda quickly brings it up like a catcher. when throwing through the zone, arm mechanics and stride is good.
also make sure he is not throwing too many breaking balls i saw at the end of the video that he was throwing one if he does throw too many then he will have some issues with his elbow
good arm whip, in time with proper lower body mechanics he should be good. (timing is slightly off). also get his lead arm to not "flail" keep it tight like a karate punch.
His glove hand should tuck in along with his arm and elbow . He's throwing across his body as a result which makes his arm slot too far out to the side. I bet when he misses, he misses high and in or low and out to right handed batters... right?
wat chu talkin bout willis! tim wkefield can throw 78 TOPS on his 4seam, n cood barely hit 80 at age 30! n it just dosent seem like hes throwin a 4 seam becuz its so dam slow! (he has a GREAT knuckleball tho so it makes up for it
connorcharger, ur telling me that ur 12 and can throw 80 m.p.h? ya, i dont think so. TIM WAKEFIELD CANT THROW 80! and for all the people that say o im 8 and i can trow a 72 mile per hour curveball, im sure some of you are good players, but y brag, on stufff u probly cant even do!
i am 10 and i throw 54-62 and my pitching coach has some kind of gun thingy and it said 56 the first time then 60 the second then 62 and when you pitch try using all of your body shift your weight
@baseballfreek722 my arm action hurt the frist time but i did my motion every day and it didn't hurt anymore and it came natural to me i didn't have to think about were to move every thing but i think i need to work on posture
the thing that matters the most is accuracy and changing speeds effectively. i am a sophomore in high school and i throw around 77-80 mph but my change-up and curveball are both clocked around 65-67 mph
i could throw 65 when 12 and prolly 55 when 10... it's not that fast, and anyways, get him to not whip his arm so much. That causes injury... make it so he uses his body and comes a tiny bit over the top. It'll increase his accuracy and prevent injury.
Its funny to read the comments of all these "amazing kid pitcher" videos, it appears that EVERYONE can throw better and faster or have a brother or cousin that can do it right. I encourage you guys to upload your own video so we can see how good you are... or if you are too much of a pussy to show us... GO FUCK A GOAT hahahahahaha
im 16 and i have a brother who has a cousin whos has a dogs who has an owners sons fathers uncles grandpas second cousin twice removed that pitches on the same traveling team
dude no one wants to know what you or your brother can do. and just cause you might be better than some one else dosn't mean you have to put them down !!! a** hole
First thing that I notice right away is that he is standing straight up and down. You have to use your entire body to pitch, not just legs & arm... it's the back, hips, everything. His shoulders never get parallel to the ground and so his release point will always be a bit high, especially when he gets a little tired...
You look good but your landing foot is landing way too much toward first base. If you get your front foot to land almost in front of you back leg you could get the ball out faster. In slow mo it looks like your body is over rotating. Keep it up
Bah, forget these kids talking about velocity. ORIOLES403's right... in the balance he's late... There's no trunk/hip seperation. Work on his stride, it's a little too short.
please have him work on two things: 1. He separates too late in balnace position. what i mean he gets ball out as he going forward to the plate. shortens his arm circle and doesn't allow his throwing arm to get in high launch position. 2. dead front side. Needs to lead much more agressively with glove side, would improve his velocity.
Way too much drag on the backleg that reveals that there is little to no rotation in the hips. You have a good base already, but find a new pitching instructor fast, you need to form new muscle memory. My son is 12 and is pitching at 66-70mph with alot of rotation. See his batting--12 year old canadian kid hitting in 75-80mph cage.
I think your mechanics are solid. Your follow through is good, you are ready to field your position. Keep it up. My son was throwing 53mph at league age 10. Be careful, take care of your arm. See some of his action, click on my site...
@LILTATE33 Pm what does that mean? I live in Michigan so if it is a Florida term do not know what it means. Oh my nephew also set a HR record he domlished it it was like 7 for the season he hit like 10 or 11 almost 1 a game.
