  • where can i find a dealership in nyc

can anyone give me some info ZPaul!

  • @Fenderj2 Try contacting Roketa roketa.com

  • I passed the MSF class and got my license Tuesday. I put about 90 miles on it in two days, lol. Very fun. I'll work on mounting my little keychain camera to a helmet and getting some ride videos made up.

My plan was pretty much to use one of these Chinese scoots to learn about them and see if I like them enough to get something like a Suzuki Burgman. I do. I also will have enough confidence to buy used and know I can fix mine. No rush on that, the Roketa/Jonway works great for me for now.

  • @frigginjoe Congratulations and we're looking forward to the videos.

  • I just got my 250B today. Same color, I just liked the blue when I seen it on your vid and in a pic. I'll hopefully get around to replacing my hoses and whatever else I feel should be done by the weekend.

Very comfortable scooter, too. Bigger than I expected but it's great that way.

  • @frigginjoe Congratulations to you. Did you take the motorcycle safety course?. Remember, ride as though you're invisible.

  • @Nieves57 Yes, the wait time on the course is months however, but I've heard nothing but good things about it even from experienced riders.

  • @frigginjoe Also, we're looking forward to a video showing your new scoot.

  • @Nieves57 Try #1, video of my dashboard during a night ride.

Try #2, video of he sky during a night ride.

Also this little keychain camera doesn't like dark. I'll find a good angle to add that velcro tape to my helmet tomorrow and try in the daylight. :P

  • Wife and I each have one we can't wait to get on them again when the weather warms up here in North East Ohio. The 250's are enough for us. We have a blue and a silver one. If I had to be picky , the radiios no longer work but we fixxed that by getting bike 2 bike head sets with radios and blue tooth have fun this summer and be safe Good riding to you

  • @roccet2115 That's great and I was out riding today for a bit. Thanks for your kind words.

  • @Nieves57 you still ride the same bike? so roketas bikes are durable with regular maintenance?

  • @carllos25 Yes, I do. They're great fun. Because of what I read in 08, I thought I'd be tossing it after the first year. So far so good with maintenance and tweaks. Very low cost.

  • how much did you pay for it?

  • @slamnsky6 Thanks for your comment. The cost was $2,300.00 plus gear. I'm looking forward to riding in the warmer weather soon.

  • did you have to order this? its pretty sweet

  • @1220Bman Thanks and yes, I purchased the scooter online. Nice guitar by the way let's hear you play.

  • @Nieves57 hahahaha when money allows me to get some good recording gear, i want to start putting up vids. What site did you order from? Im kinda nervous about ordering something like this online....i hear a lot of bad reviews of sites.....

  • @1220Bman ScooterNitro they are out of business. But, you may check into family-motorsports in Pittsburgh, PA. Call or visit them in person.

  • @Nieves57 alrighty thanks. ill check them out

  • @1220Bman superior power sports. c o m its a BBB better business bureau company and it has been in bussns for a long time.. check them out cause im planning on buying one online two since they are so cheap and durable :)

  • @carllos25 Be careful with online dealers they come and go. Here's one that's been around for a while: family-motorsports

  • @carllos25 Importantly, if this is your first ride, take a motorcycle safety class. Ride like you're invisible. Ask other motorcyclists about all this--seriously. .

  • powersportmax, check the shanghai shenke 250 cc scooter aka roketa 250, jonway, etc but in cali calls shanghai shenke 250cc cause pass the carb.

i got mine for less than 1500 on 2010 for 2008 model with full warranty

  • With 5,700 miles, the scooter is still running fine as a commuter.

  • @Nieves57 which dealer did you get that at

  • Scooter Nitro they are out of business. I deal with Roketa.

  • @Nieves57 Yea I went to there site but I'm not sure if they will sell to u unless u r a dealer do u no at least that's what I think I read on there site

  • Yes, that's right. But, this is where to get parts and perhaps a referral to a dealer.

  • how many miles u have on it and any problems

  • county imports search them at go to ripoffreportcom and see for yourselves

  • power rangers jajaja

  • About 23 hundred a year ago.

  • I bought a Roketa that looks exactly like this. The title lists as a 2008 Roketa Roadmaster. I cannot find anything on line under that name. Where do I look on my bike to see if I have an A or B model. I found the weight, the manufacturer, etc, but not the engine type/name/model.

  • How much did yours cost?

  • The 250 trunk (Honda) has plenty of space enough for a bag of groceries or the helmet. The "B" is the Yamaha clone engine and the 250 is the Honda clone. Be very careful with online dealers they come, go, and many are not reliable.

  • So Nieves, I noticed that the trunk you have is the smaller of the two I see advertised for this scooter. I want to make sure I get the larger trunk-does that mean I need to get the MC-54-250B? Is that what the B represents? If not, who'd you order from, (so I don't order from them) cuz I want to order one that has the extra large trunk. Your help would be appreciated.-Mike

  • I gotta ask. What are the interior dimensions of the cargo box that sits up high behind the driver? Wonderin' because I just bought one online and I'm wonderin' in my laptop 'll fit in it

  • I am considering purchasing a scooter such as this one, however, I have read many e-mails giving them bad reviews due to poor quality. The dealer here in El Paso, TX is only offering 30 day warranty. HAs there been any issues minor/major that I should be aware of before dropping $2700 for this scooter?

  • my neighbor got the same one a couple months ago,he told me don't buy this brand,it's a piece of crap,it has many problems.

  • I'm not surprised the radio is not that great. The dealer calls them a novelty. Someday, I'll upgrade the sound system.

  • One thin I can't stress enough, if you get a chinese scooter, be ready to do your own upkeep and fixes. A shop will take weeks to do what you could do in minutes, to perhaps an hour, and be a much sturdier fix for it. They are not hard machines to work on. I learned mine inside & out in an evening. :-D

  • hey man cool scooter ,am planing to buy one this week but i dont know which web site buy it from....do u suggest any?

  • stay away from county motorsports in clovis ca. They are very bad in delivery time and they are 99% automated phone wise. Once they get the sale they have the could care less when u want it attitude and come up with 1000 excuses and no of them hold water. The whole transaction went from 5/29-7/19/2008 and all this time I had to just look at my purchase.

  • Does anyone know any muffler mods, specifically the model of a leo vince exhaust that will fit this bike? I have the same model and am trying to upgrade the exhaust without much luck finding parts that match.

  • Hi, I also hava a roketa 250 and my remote has three buttons unlock, lock, and lightning. If I press the lightning button twice it turns the motorcycle on. To turn it off I press the unlock button.

  • Hi Nieves57. I just got my new Roketa 250 and I couldn't figure out how to use the remote. It has 4 buttons - lock, unlock, lightning, and bell. Do you know which button does wahat? Thank you.

  • Good question because I couldn't either. However, if you send a message instead of a comment with your e-mail address, I'll reply and send you the instruction manual as an attachment. By the way, this is one of those items they leave disconnected. I'll be getting mine to work next week while it's in the shop.

  • Also, the cost of replacing parts such as the motor is not a great deal and mechanics talk about how easy they are to install. There you go, do your research and find out for yourself.

  • I appreciate your feedback as I am carfully considering whether or not to buy one of these.

  • Still, consider the dealer employees that use them every day as commuters. So, if you're mechanically inclined, or willing to pay a little more to have a dealer test everything in advance, they are a good value considering the cost of other high-end brands. My dealer as do others talk about the quality Roketa engines, cooling systems, and drive train, thus they gave a free 36-month warranty. If there is a major failure of any sort, I will post it here.

  • I started to consider buying one of these until I started hearing some negative comments as to the quality of chinese-made scooters. So far Nieve57 doesn't seem to have had any issues. Maybe they are not so bad afterall.

  • For the price, Roketa is a good deal. However, they are not dealer prepped, ship directly, and may require some tinkering. Some minor issues are body panel nicks, and components not working because of detached or loose wiring such as the alarm, turn single, taillights, and such. Some dealers Scooternitro for example will replace defective parts. Dealers will advise replacing the cheap batteries and all fluids sometime soon after purchase and they are correct.

  • FLUID CHANGES ARE VERY IMPORTANT....!! AFTER YOUR FIRST 300 TO 500 MILES, and after that every 1000 miles and your bike will run perfectly

  • your vids are great, what do you know about the sound system i have the roketa 250 (2007) the radio & mp3 player was very bad at loud volumes, until i got rained on in a thunder storm..now it doesn't work at all

  • chek out my vids on how to change your own motor and gear (transmision) oil..... step by step very easy...

  • What is the price? And what is the max.speed?

  • Hey thanks. I've been looking at the mc54 and the Bali trying to decide. How do you find out whether it is street legal?

  • The dealer will tell you.

  • What dealer? I am buying this week.

  • It runs great and the MPG improves after break in. Supposed to get up to 80 MPG but around town its getting 62 or so. Recently, I took a long cruise and noticed that the millage is improved greatly but haven't filled it up yet to know for sure. Normally, the tank would be half full, but it is still showing over the top of the fill line.

  • Nice ride! Do you have a headset to go in your helmet for the music?

  • Hi,

No headset but the helmet is designed for one.

The radio is...well very basic you may consider upgrading. Thanks

  • Nice im buying a 2008 49cc Roketa for $675 its mi first one

  • hows the performance? what is the gas mileage? Would you recommend the place you bought it from to me?

  • Forgot to mention, but yea the dealer gives a 36 month warranty.

  • Update: The dealer is out of business.

  • @Nieves1957 but its still a good bike it maybe the up dated dealer but its a good bike

  • Performance is great nice pickup and cruises fine on the expressway. Around town the MPG is about 62 and after only two days of highway travel got 67 MPG. I'm sure, that this scoot will get up to 80 MPG as stated. The dealer / mechanic likes the drive train and motor so well, that they give a free 36 month warranty. So...for the money it's not bad really--so far. I only have 500+ miles
