  • @noneofyourbusiness47 great comment "creepazoid mutant loser twentysomethings" hahaha how about braindead video game monosylabic zombies, they are not all bad but they sure seem like it, god i'm getting old just watched breakfast club lol..sure took me back...take care

  • I liked "I Can't Wait" when it was new but ended up liking this song even better once it too was released as a single. I never understood why this didn't do better than "I Can't Wait". I definitely considered it to be the stronger song.

  • now i get the reference in the Cleveland Show when Cleveland buys shoes to "I cant wait"

  • so many shoes so many colors, cool song.

  • I definitely loved this song, and still do enjoy its music.

  • Oh, I've always been in love with Valerie Day. She is so incredibly cute. Valerie, I love you !!!!

  • There may have been sexual and graphic songs but the lyrics weren't straight in your face like it is now. It was overall more intelligently done and more cryptic at times. No comparison. Today's popular music is not only dumb down, but as comic13 states above, there were many layers of the instruments which could be appreciated and the melodies were more tastefully put together. Also, there were solos or instrumental brakes which you don't hear anymore. Man, I miss that!

  • I Remember that Sesame Street Used this kinda of Stop Motion stuff

  • @R2d233de NO THAT WAS GUMBY..LOL....AND POKEY SHOW..LOL

  • One of the best bands from Portland Ore,

  • this is a great song

  • That's some really cool animation going on there.

  • HOW DID WE GO FROM THIS....TO LADY CACA...OR J BEIBER...UGHHHHH

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX You mean Lady Goo Goo?

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX

Sin. Everyone else asks how it went from Elvis to ABBA...ha, you know? Im laughing with you, Man this gen has nothing and theyll curse you out on a response to a comment on you tube, just proves even more that they actually do have nothing

  • Oh What's the song that's ending just as this begins!

  • @NolanKevin7 Regina - Baby Love.

  • @NolanKevin7 - I Can't Wait - also Nu Shooz

  • This is some getting ready for the day intro to a 80's movie music.

  • Love the song and it wasn't easy to find it before Youtube existed. I wish it had a different kind of video though.

  • Oh my goodness Bridget Jones had a singing career at one point!

  • They don't make music like this anymore... except for 9th&Shunk. Check out our channel for NEW MUSIC like this great Nu Shooz one.

  • Has a "Sledgehammer" flavor to it. I wonder if the same people who made this video did Peter Gabriel's monster hit video.

  • this song rocked

  • People dress that same way now!

  • illuminati pyramid, stars pointing down like a pentagram,

  • Till 80's => Pursuit of happiness, 90's and beyond => Pursuit of money. Don't get me wrong, money is great if it is earned properly and it's used wisely, but still, happiness comes first.

  • I just realized why music and movies (forget about CGI) were so much better in the 80's. It's because they came from our hearts. Nowadays they come from numbers/currencies. That's it!!!

  • Love this Chick's energy & swag. Very Talented

  • she's so funky!

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard dance chart for 1 week on Sept 6, 1986

  • shit i thought that was MY phone at the end.

  • so. in case you haven't heard, i'm packing my things to head back to the 80's next week. i encourage you all to come with me! ^_^

  • @111Zadok

i've been working on going back since 1998, so far no luck, once the coordinates are a sure thing, ill let you know where the time rip is. long live the 80's.

  • 80's rule

  • who was that band that sang that one song..JAMES BROOOWN...JAMES BROOOOWN..??.

  • I love this song. I'm surprised it wasn't a bigger hit. I prefer this to "I can't wait".

  • @CartoonsAndGameShows I agree with you completely. It sucks iTunes doesn't have this released as a single. I have to subject myself to buying it in cd form. For years, I used to think Expose. Turns out, Expose sang a totally different version.

  • Was her tongue pierced???

  • @r8hitman ..No, I don't think so...tongue piercing appeared in the 80's but became a fashion in the mid 90's.

  • omg, the best times ever!!!!

  • omg! ..stop motion *shame

  • 7 people have old shooz lulz

  • Excellent song from the best decade ever. Memories of me and the lads on a lads holiday to Great Yarmouth when we were all 18. Great times.

  • EXPOSE sings this song also.

  • @MrMatto1 No they do not sing this song. They sing a song with the same title but the song itself is completely different.

  • Remember a time when artist actually put talent in their music?

  • i luv this song!

  • I was around 8 or 9 when I used to jam to this on the radio, still jammin' to it and so is my 4 year old son!

  • loved this video back in the day.

  • the best ever. roarin 1980's.

  • i was not aware of the song point of no return until years later i knew that nu shooz had only one hit song in 1986 i can't wait as soon as i heard it i went after the album i never followed their music very much back then valerie day has a great voice & she is very attractive her husband john smith is in this music video

  • Just one word in response to rush2745.....yes

  • I like that girl (now she's old but then wow) but the man's headdress is typical 80s. Yuk.

  • @setepenra0069 .....Val is still a hottie FYI..... And that guy? well, that's her hubby, Johnny......."Jagar"

  • LMAO haven't heard this song for a good 20 years

  • One of the coolest things I think,is to make good ass music, with the person you're actually in love with..Not JUST a simple ass duet, but actual LOVE..Dope songz Nu Shooz had..(in my Yoda voice)..

  • @Super7820: I can't think of anything cooler!!

  • I miss music like this.

  • i miss the synthesizer music of the 80's

  • Many songs that came out of the 80s were very happy musical pieces with great melodies...from the actual music to the lyrics! There were so many layers to the music of the 80s and so little in today's bland sound!

  • @mexicancomic13 Back in my day...

  • @weirdscience85 How can you say nobody in their 20's is mature? Look at Chloe Grace Moretz. Oh yeah, I forgot, she's only 14. my bad

  • What is her real name and did she write this song?

  • @quelita28 Valerie Day-Smith, and she is married. She and her husband wrote the lyrics of this song.

  • I like this better than "I Can't Wait". ^_^

  • I MISS THE FUCKIN 80'S!!! OL SCHOOL FLAVA

  • @weirdscience85

no. i was giving an example of how people in the 70s probably whinged about how they thought music in the 50s was better, ala people in the '00s complaining about how they thought music was better in the 80s, etc. its not unique, it happens with every generation. if you think there is no decent music being made today and its all 'gone to shit' then you are a complete gronk and probably dont deserve to hear anything decent anyway.

  • i would like it if i could watch at least one youtube clip featuring an '80s song where some obvious prick didn't rehash some kind of faux-expert 'music today is garbage, real music stopped in the 90s' nonsense speech that somehow warrants 20 thumbs up votes. do you not think that people have been saying this since pop music was created?! 'music in the 50s was so much better, the stuff we have now in the 70s is such over produced shit'. GET. A. GRIP.

  • Whatever happened to her ?

  • @quelita28 She has been a writer to other artists. Both are still married with a grown-up son.

  • @Supersweetguy: What an amazing love story!

  • @weirdscience85 yeah i could go back 25 or 30 years and be happy easily...

  • @jeromehazelwood its sooo true the 80's were so.......wonderful for music i call that decade the golden yrs !

  • @jeromehazelwood

    25 for me, and i'm only 30 now. i miss the 80's.

  • @weirdscience85 mayb u shud stop drinkin and watchin Garbage on TV and try Diff Clubs...get laid ppl ..plz..life is 2 short :)

P.S watch some Pick up Artist Episodes if u got time..its really helpful and Effective

  • Great Rare Video!

  • I miss this time in music. Why is happy well produced well sung music too much to ask for.

  • The first time I heard this song was from a cartoon by the name of Kidd Video! Good times!

  • It really shows peoples age when they trash current music for older music. The same stuff would have been said by our parents about the current generations music. These artists paved the way for the music we have today, do you realize how boring it would be to listen to the same exactly songs without any changes for 3 decades? I love 80s music, but anytime someone current remakes or tries to do something 80s they get trashed, let the 80s stay in the 80s, I love it that way! :)

  • Keep in mind I am speaking from someone who DJs both 80s music and current music. They are very different but that doesnt mean one is better or worse, why do people have this belief you can only like one thing, if you like more than one that makes you someone less loyal to a type... get over it.. 80s were great but dont disrespect the 80s but trashing current music to somehow validate the great songs that came out back then.

  • @weirdscience85 LOL you were like 5 years old in 1990 in which case you MIGHT have known what a ninja turtle is. Which basically means even the 90s cool shit was over with by the time you hit puberty, so yes I guess if you did start growing pubes when Nickelback was popular I can see why you focus on old shit and have narrow taste in trendy old shit. Not all 2000s shit is bad, but all the top 40s shit is bad.

  • @weirdscience85 alcahol? my man....you need to get with it old timer, get a few eee's down yr neck and go find an underground house/techno event. Who needs alcahol?

  • great song really shit video

  • @maxtek7 I don't think it's that bad. I love the use of the stop motion animation with the shoes.

  • @belledame3, Really crap, could have made more of an effort, as the song is great, doesnt do it justice.

  • @weirdscience85 If you didn't start clubbing til 2004 you dont have much background to begin with. Especially if ALL your musical taste is based on clubbing for the last 6 years, that means from birth the 19 years of age you had no taste at all? And you embraced popular Mall music from the 80s?

  • Well I love this but, the 80's had it's share of crap too like late 80's John Mellancamp, Perfect World by Huey Lewis & News, Who's That Girl by Madonna, Another Part of Me by Michael Jackson, I Need Love by L.L. Cool J etc but of course it's all relative on what you want to remember. in 2021 people will miss 2011 music wel..l somebody will

  • 80's music is still the best around none of the shit they play now can hold a candle to the music in the 80's

  • @weirdscience85 You sure its not because youre old now?

  • I was born and 88 and could this is how the music was

Music in the 80s: Great Upbeat music

Music in the 90s: Great More Diversified

Music in the 2000s: Poor silly effects to cover up their vocal imperfections.

    Music Now: WTF?

  • whats a good looking chick doing with a loser

  • @poohji80 Both are a husband-wife team, they are the core of Nu Shooz.

  • It's a shame that most of today's music is so overtly sexual and graphic. I guess it's a sign of the times. But those who grew up during the 80's know and remember a time when turning on the radio could turn a bad day into a good one. The music was just so much more alive and dynamic, compared to the unimaginative stuff that u hear now. The times have changed, and not for the better either. What a shame indeed.

  • @rush2745 I so agree with everything you said! It could not have been said better....

  • @rush2745 -I agree with ya. I'm 44 & i thought that the 60's-90's music would never end or go bad...was i wrong. after the 90's it turned into talentless people rapping or singing about bitches,ho's,money, cars, bling, houses, drank, strip clubs ect.. 98% of the time i'm playing my ipod with all the 60's-90's funk,soul,hip-hop,R&B,blues, & classic rock.100,200 years from now will be no different. the 60's-90's will never ever be duplicated or replaced. SUBSTANCE,PASSION,CREATIVITY,SOUL,LOVE we miss.

  • @rush2745 Eh, that kind of comment haunts all posts of songs, moaning about how today's music ain't the same as yesterday's. You may not like what kids like today, but people who grew up on '70s, '60s etc. music thought Nu Shooz were pure crapola, too. More specifically to your point, there were plenty of overtly sexual songs in the '80s (and before). "Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me..." etc. And you know, they would've been sexier then if the times had permitted it.

  • @rush2745 There is some truth to what you're saying. But there were tons of "sexual and graphic" music in the 80s. Case in point: Prince, Madonna, Motley Crue, Vanity 6, Rick James, Def Leppard...just to name a few.

  • @LAWoman323213

Yeah but that's like comparing Black Sabbath to thrash metal when it comes to speed. Those artists you listed cannot hold a candle to graphic oversexualized crap thats out now

  • @rush2745 Nothing changes from decade to decade; the 80's had hair metal, adult contemporary, Rockwell, Eddie Murphy, and other commercialized crap dominating the radio dial. Good music is always underground, that remains as true today as it did back in the 80's, the 70's, and further back to the popularization of music radio.

If you're looking for something legitimate with a throwback theme, look up Chromeo, !!!, and Chairlift for starters.

  • @Turtleproof CHROMEOOO :D

  • @rush2745 I dont think you couldve said it much better... i watch videos like this and all i can think is "god, i miss the 80s!"

  • @henryk2112 thanks @ mzwere1 thanks

  • heyy recuerdo que compre este disco cuando estaba en la secundaria y estaba mucho de moda esta cancion,,,,,padrisima todavia lo conservo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that Guy looks like Kenny G lol

  • POP Music.............as it should be!

  • There's a song that ends at the beginning of this song, can anyone tell me what's the name of it? Thanks

  • @Dappa1806 It's Nu Shooz's song "I Can't Wait".

  • @Dappa1806

    Nu Shooz - "I can't wait"

The song that they are best known for.

  • Nu Shooz - Point Of No Return

  • @paistekid-I agree with you on this! I was also 19yrs in 86. And this song was bomb back then and it is still the bomb. This is when dance music was dance music.

  • This sounds like some of Jeff Lorber's work!

  • I TOO WAS 19 IN 1986, IN 1984 WEN I WAS 17, ME AND MY CREW SCRAMBLIN FEET ROCKERS WOULD GO TO ROXYS IN NYC AND THEY WOULD PLAY THIS, LET THE MUSIC PLAY, TALKIN HEADS, SOUL SONIC SONIC FORCE, IT WAS A MIX OF ALL KIND OF MUSIK, HIPHOP, PREPPY, PUNK, DANCE, ELECTRO, ROCK, IT WAS A GOOD TIME. THE 80'S WAS THE BEST ERA :) THUMB UP IF U AGREE,,,,,,,,,,,

  • I miss the days where it was cool to wear suspenders if you were a chick.

  • @BlueberryWaffleOs if u like 'em wear 'em. so what if it isn't cool?

  • the 80s makes me feel good.

  • i can't sit still....sorry have. to. dance.

  • Bring out the dancing Keds...

  • fucken love nu shooz...beyonce who?

  • exxellent couple, great 80s music

  • i'm a shoe whore, love nu shooz

  • Damn....gotta tie my shoes....nice song though!!!

  • WOWWWW!!! i forgot about this track! damn they had hits lol

T_T my teenage years.... i miss em

  • Man! Now we know how low standards have become when '80s Pop is considered fresh and great! 80's Pop was mostly CHEESE and this song is no exception!

Yes, there was Michael Jackson and Prince and Rick James and Harold Faltermeyer, but every era and style has exceptional acts, even Disco.

  • @SamBlob Low standards?! So tell me, what would you consider "cool" or original without being "cheesy"? I'm curious.

And btw, yes ALL 80s music is better than today's crap and it will always be that way, whether some like you don't like it. That's not an opinion, it's reality.

  • @DreamWarrior87 My point is that today's crap is such crap that it makes all that Cyndi Lauper / Nu Shooz / Stacey Q / Samantha Fox crap look *great* by comparison. But that '80s bubblegum crap is *still* crap, as any comparison to Teddy Pendergrass, The Chi-Lites, The O'Jays, or Nat "King" Cole will show.

And I still challenge anyone to take any song at all from the last ten years and explain to me how it could be better than "The Boxer" by Simon and Garfunkel.

  • @SamBlob Well. Now I know what you're about. Like I thought, every musician you mentioned is black. You're one of those arrogant people that think that behind every great 80s singer there is a black woman or man. As if Whites couldn't have a great voice too. Well, you are wrong. And since I don't want this page to become a battlefield, I will pm you.

By the way, the 80s are the best, nothing will ever compare to it.

  • @DreamWarrior87 Simon and Garfunkel would be rather amazed to hear that they're black...

In terms of race, era, and great voices: Rick Astley had a great voice, which was mostly wasted on the same kind of crap music that's being referred to here. "Cry For Help" was a glimpse at the greatness that might have been.

I didn't mention Bing Crosby because someone your age would probably say "Who?"

The singer from Nu Shooz sings better than Bob Dylan (not hard) but I'd rather listen to Dylan.

  • makes me want some checkered vans. LoL

  • @mymusicvideos111 hahaha

but... but.... Amy Baby was a pretty Cutie Pie, and she had some very nice pop hits.

  • did they stop making Vans??

  • Wow. 80s music is just soo.... FRESH, all over again.

Next thing you know, I'll be checking out videos from Debbie Gibson. And Pebbles. Maybe even.... Amy Grant.

  • Another badass jam from those days!

  • them vintage vans are sick

  • This was a BIG hit in Trinidad! Summer of 86, the best of my life! i hope they don't take this off! Thanks for posting and keeping it on youtube.

  • cool stop in motion effects

  • Where is the singer from? She looks Australian.

  • @thecloudchamber She is from Portland, Oregon, USA.

  • The song is great !!... but the audio is very saturated

  • They wore Van's in the 80's, man you learn something new everyday huh!

  • itunes suck i cant find this song for my 80's collection, best song to start your 80's party

  • Lol...here we go again....more escapisms. Nu Shooz...where did u steal that rhythm from?....u don't even know the meaning of what inspired your own music. That's music people listen to before they commit suicide!

  • @newagecozaki No pun intended, but why disrespect this music? Wouldn't it be good if you were the one who would spread were Nu Shooz got their music?

  • @Supersweetguy I'm sorry if it came out as disrespectful, which if u understood how i understood the music, was an insightful comment on the inner genius of Nu Shooz. ofcourse, this is very original music, but i cant just say it's "good" without wondering how and where it came from.

  • Poof. Speakers? What speakers? I didn't like those speakers anyway.

  • holy cow I havent seen this since "Nick Rocks"

  • I'm so glad that I live through the 80's............Never again will life be like it was!

  • one of my favs :)

  • there is nothing like old school freestyle

its true todays music most does suck!!!

  • there is nothing like old school freestyle

  • LOL Renee Zelwiger twin! =D

  • awesome song just as good as i cant wait
