can I ask u something, from 2:11 to you practically double the other rhythm guitar that goes the same way but only untill 2:52 right ? Is it 100% correct?
@Perocg They actually double each other until the end of the song, 2:52 is just another part that comes in on top of the other 2 rhythm guitars, and I combined it into this video because there's really no point in playing the same part all the way to the end in 2 different videos.
@astatslpvids ok then, i see.. but still strange how they double that part, very special song.. nice videos by the way, I' m doing an instrumental cover of TLTGA so this would help me a lot, tnx ;)
o_O You're the second person to ask me that same question in 2 days, weird.
Anyway, just because there are so many guitars in the song doesn't mean they're all playing at the same time. It's rather easy to play this live with 2 guitar players, one just has to switch from acoustic to electric before the solo, which is what Mike does live.
I don't really see a difference here. Both guitars are pretty much the same and how could there be two rhythm guitars when there's only two guitarists??
Lots of layering, there's a total of 5 guitar tracks in this song. Rhythm Guitar #1 plays powerchords and comes in earlier, #2 plays octaves and comes in a little later. During and after the solo, they play the same thing, and then when the outro vocal part comes in, a 3rd rhythm guitar comes in with the distorted powerchords. I'm actually combining guitars 2 and 3 here.
actually 3 chester plays rarley and pheonix plays guitar rarley so 4 basically COULD have been playin in the studio version and they could have ask for help from another guitarist or mike could have switched during recording like he does live
They don't record the songs live in the studio, they go one part at a time, i.e. Rob records drums, then they do all the bass and guitar tracks one at a time, then they add strings/DJ effects/anything else, and then they do vocals last. They experimented with recording 2 songs live in the studio (No More Sorrow and No Roads Left), but this wasn't one of them.

You do a great job on all of your songs.
Maybe you should cross connect all of the 5 guitar parts of TLTGYA and see what it looks like. That would be incredible.
