I was at this concert.NEC in March 86.Remember it well.I can be seen in the audience at some stage of the origional tv footage in a "That ain't working" tee shirt (Dire Straits).I was all of 18 at the time. How the years fly!
All my favorite artist on the same stage The Beatles ( George Harrison) ELO (Jeff Lynne) Moody Blues( Justin Hayward) the only one missing is (Alan Parsons ) from the Alan Parsons Project. That would be my super group!!!!
Moody Blues and Denny Laine on the same stage with George and Jeff. I wonder if old and newer Moodies ever played together before or since. Denny sang the last verse second...
@MrDarwinsDog (Love your user name) I've always thought George's voice was best singing rock-a-billy with Carl Perkins or American standards like here - and of course, The Traveling Wilburys, his American country group!
Unreal Charity concert organisedby by Bev Bevan and his best friend Jasper Carrott, great seeing George Harrison, bev, Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, the Moody blues all on stage there at once, also did i happen to see Noddy Holder from Slade there as well????.
Didn't this star out as a E.L.O. concert? I ask because Jeff Lynne is wearing the same jacket he wears in theother 1986 'Do Ya' and 'Hold on Tight' vids. Can anybody clearify?
@Velocity9s No, this was a benefit show called Heartbeat '86 to help out Birmingham, England's childrens' charities. ELO were going to be the headline act, but that spot was given to the Moody Blues, who felt that since they (and not ELO) had more recently had a couple of hits in the charts, felt that they were more deserving of that spot. In the end, they probably wished they hadn't, as ELO wound up blowing everyone away. Fans who were there say there were ppl leaving after MB went on.
It's so sad, what happened with George getting stabbed by that lunatic, and then several years later dying of cancer. He deserved much better end to his life, (as did John), esp. since he was such a classy and talented guy. RIP George!
Gosh my mom loves this song!

George a his most 'American'. With Orbison/Winter black he looks as though he could be from Amarillo.
