It should have been updated for the 2012 package I bought, a simple button assignment would have been nice so I can use xpadder to map the buttons to my wheel or joypad.

This might not sound as realistic as using pedals, but in fact the emphasis is on learning to perform drills in the right order rather than the mechanics, for example finding the biting point of your clutch pedal (although the software does include videos that demonstrate things like this).

Hi. Most PC steering wheels should work with it but aren't supported by Focus. You can't use pedals though. Practical Simulator only lets you drive on the left of the road as it's aimed at UK learner drivers.

I'm not blaming you guys for providing this video or anything, but I think it's honestly stupid, the legislation about driving, that is.
We all live in the 21st century, many of the laws and codes we follow in the highway code are many centuries old and are written with cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s in mind. You can fail on such stupid things (such as applying the handbrake when stopped on a perfectly level surface), and are forced to drive dangerously (shuffling the wheel, for one)
consider this....applying the handbrake on a level surface has nothing to do with rolling on a hill....if you stop at a crossing or junction and you get shunted from behind what do you think will happen?

Hi there, I think you mean the virtual driving test in Driving Test Success ALL TESTS, in which case you're looking for a video-based tutorial which you'll find in the Practical section of that product. The video on this web page shows Driving Test Success Practical Simulator in action. It's a different product which allows you to "drive" the car yourself in a 3D world, taking lessons from a virtual driving instructor.

I've heard that pedals don't work, you might as well play it with a joystick, leave the wheel for realistic driving simulator/games like RACE from simbin

You can drive as fast or as slow as you want. You cannot use pedals and gear sticks it is only keyboard and or mouse. Overall it is an ok simulator.

drive a bit with a camera on your dash, then play it back on the pc.. it looks just as slow. If you are used to driving on racing games then this will appear to be painfully slow to drive in.

Hi. Most PC steering wheels should work with it but aren't supported by Focus. You can't use pedals though. Practical Simulator only lets you drive on the left of the road as it's aimed at UK learner drivers.

Hi Aidan, it sounds like you have Driving Test Success ALL TESTS. You're right, it has the video tutorials but not the interactive driving simulator which is available separately. Hope this helps?

The title is Driving Test Success Practical Simulator. Due to the large file sizes (it includes a lot of video) then there is no download version but you can purchase it on PC DVD-ROM from Amazon UK or direct from focusmm-dot-co-dot-uk. It is also available as part of The Complete Learner Driver Kit.

Hi there. You could try your local PC World, WH Smith or Halfords. If you try their websites then they should have a list of stores and their phone numbers, so you can find one that's local to you and check if it's in stock (I'd recommend that you ask them to put one under the counter for you).

The discount code for free postage (DTSFREEPOST) is only valid on the Focus Multimedia website. Just add the product to the shopping basket, then you'll see a box at the top right called "Discount Coupon". Put the DTSFREEPOST code in there, then click on "Submit" and you'll see that your £2 postage charge has been changed to zero.

I'm not blaming you guys for providing this video or anything, but I think it's honestly stupid, the legislation about driving, that is.
We all live in the 21st century, many of the laws and codes we follow in the highway code are many centuries old and are written with cars from the 60s, 70s and 80s in mind. You can fail on such stupid things (such as applying the handbrake when stopped on a perfectly level surface), and are forced to drive dangerously (shuffling the wheel, for one)

consider this....applying the handbrake on a level surface has nothing to do with rolling on a hill....if you stop at a crossing or junction and you get shunted from behind what do you think will happen?

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! Exactly. I used Test Drive Unlimited, the original Driver and the public tarmac roads in Ulster, IoM and Jim Clark Rally in Mobil 1 Rally Championship as practice for my real driving.............a low real-road speeds of course!!!

You can buy the boxed product from focusmm-dot-co-dot-uk. There is no download available because it's several gigabytes in size (it comes on a PC DVD-ROM).
