  • Pslam.

  • Psalms 109:8, why are you reading verse 9 if the verse is 8 and im sure if revelations was a little bit closer to the verse you would be using the chapter of the ten headed dragon.

  • Somebody should let these "Christians" know that criticizing the president is treason and anti-American. You can bet if someone "prayed" for Bush in this manner, they'd be screaming for blood.

  • All this coming from the KKK left who says to shoot Sarah Palin and lynch a black man,Clarence Thomas. LOL

Smoke some more pot like Loughner MSLSD.

  • wow good job msnbc taking the bible out of context congrats thats probably why your network is failing

  • @slimTHUGGA412 Now Fox is failing, FUCK YOU

  • Face it Frank, you are a hater.

  • JESUS, JESUS, JESUS

  • Are you kidding? Christian terrorists hate secularism, hate homosexuals, think the world is only a few thousand years old, believe in religious law, think women should stay at home, condemn sex before marriage and think it's okay to kill those who disagree with them. They also hate Washington, New York and Hollywood.

Same difference. I just spelled it better.

  • Let it be known that this is the first time in recorded history that liberals gave a damn about the context of a Bible verse.

Hey liberals, let me remind you of your own favorite out-of-context Bible verse:

"Judge not, lest ye be judged."

  • "Judge not, lest ye be judged" also isn't a threat.

Also, some people really will take it as "open season". Because... they're stupid. Or crazy.

  • @JMcH Hey idiot. Let me remind you, or inform you if you didn't already know. The gospel writers were not eyewitnesses and were anonymous. Mark, the first to be written was authored about 60 AD. These books were not written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, but were written anonymously and these names were inserted later. The original manuscripts have not even been found. These are copies of copies of copies. You conskervatives know less about your buy bull than non-believers. Pathetic.

  • @richwfd2002 - The sources for your information have a vested interest in asserting those claims to be true. Believe me -- I used to be an atheist who thought exactly as you do. Then I actually stopped mindlessly swallowing the lies, opened up my mind, did the research and found the facts and the Truth.

  • @JMcH I've considered the possibility that the "debunkers" might have a vested interest in spreading "lies" and found it to be untrue in many cases. There is often a grieving period for these people, as well as myself, when we come to the realization that the foundation for these beliefs is shaky at best. I believe that the preachers have a vested interest in validating their beliefs for emotional and financial reasons. Emotional attachment to belief does not make it true.....

  • @JMcH I have considered the possibility that "vested interest" might be a motivator for the debunkers, but I have also done research and read the bible. The truth is that these "debunkers", including myself, often go through a grieving process when they realize the shakiness of their previously heald beliefs. Emotional attachment to certain beliefs does not make them true. Emotional blackmail and appeal are bad motivators for so called "faith". What I said before is probably true.

  • MSNBC did a poll that compared president Bush to Satan. I guess they forgot about that one huh? stop using religion to promote your party!

  • imagine if a muslim came on and said the same thing, it would be doomsday. christian fundamentalists are by far the most dangerous to our freedoms.

  • nobody attacked or threatened his life. Could be referring to him being voted out in the next election or stepping down for personal reasons. Can anyone else blow this out of proportion? Anyone.

  • ## Pity the context shows that the death of the person is being sought.

What is *really* ironic is that the quotation may be part of a speech, by the Psalmist, complaining of the ill-will of his enemies, so that "Let his days..." may be *Psalmist's* quotation of *their* ill-will toward him.

The speaker would then - in modern terms - be *Obama*, complaining of the hate of his Christian enemies who want his death :) Instead of the words of his enemies calling for his death.

  • I'm actually really scared by religious extremism. The fact that doctors are killed as part of the "pro-life" movement and so-called christians are calling for the President's death makes it hard for me to sleep at night. All I can say is that these people are not following in the path of Christ. Anyone can use the Bible to conform it to their beliefs.

  • Look at this preemptive attack on the christians. Now we can see who will be targeted when it all goes down. John 8:44 America home of the theives built by the slaves I pledge allegiance to the bar code hail capitalism Rev 6:5-6 These people are so confused and think God ain't watching Isaiah 14:21 Psalm 58:10

  • You people use the bible like a prostitute, for your own personal en devours that leads to death,Churchs are to be leaders in life not death.God have mercy on the the person responsible for this shirt.Leave scripture in the bible not on some cheap 2 dollar shirt that promotes death.

  • Revelations isn't a how to

  • Evengelical Republicans want to turn America into a Christian version of Iran.

  • evengelical equals

radical terorists they are no difrent from alkida reinterpretation the koran they do the bible.

Evengelicals have pray for obamas death

Evengelicals want to kill gays so in no way are they pro life!

Evengelicals are retarded do to home schooling if they really knew anything would know repubs & bush caused the economy to fail deregulating banks a war of lies costing billions tax cuts to rich during war & failed Afghanistan god forgive these radicals idiots.

  • ...My book, patience with God...my book, patience with God...my book, patience with God... Oh and did I mention my new book?

  • I hope the right wing doesn't look the other way when extremism is on particular individuals of their religion and maybe for once stop focusing in on only muslim extremist by which can have extremists on every side of every religion that proclaims "peace" and doesn't care if it advocates the death of one or more to get the form of "peace" in their eyes. I would love to see at least one American conservative denounce this kind of behaviour.

  • i am a christian and it shocks me that no one from the pro-life movement has condemned the Dr. Tiller murder. I mean he wasn't murdered coz the guy wanted to steal his car? I hear this where are the moderate muslims denouncing violence. Now I ask where are the moderate christians denouncing violence???

  • Maybe those who are inciting violence by this type of rhetoric should first consider this:

    WWJT: What Would Jesus Think?

  • lol, maddow

  • It says Psalm 109:8 it does not say Psalm 109:8 through 109:9 you people are idiots. All that means is he should be impeached.

  • @TheObamaSocialism

"Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow."?

Hmm, that seems to call for more than impeachment.

  • Whether these people have quoted one or both of these scriptures, people who read the bible put two and two together, because they go together. I bet some of those fundamentalist right wings would have put both, but someone probably cautioned them.

No matter which way, they are no longer Christian if they pray for someone to fail, instead of praying for success.

They should read the whole bible. 1 John 4.

  • "Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow" is verse 109:9 not verse 109:8. Get it right, they just meant verse 109:8 and verse 109:8 alone, not 109:9. :)

  • Seeing as they are right next to each other, and still on the same subject, there is no use trying to split hairs.

Secondly, even if 109:9 did not exists, "Let his days be few", has enough of a dark tone as it is. Maybe it means days in office (as you want it to mean), but for the loonier among us, what is keeping it from meaning days on Earth?

  • @TheObamaSocialism

So, they should not have put it on there in the first place. It still means very similar things in the way they do not want the current president and they wish harm or him to fail.

That is the bottom line, ergo, that scripture is a slam against Jesus and Christianity. They are not christians as someone said, because Jesus is not about hating or wanting others to fail.

  • If it were a group of Muslims printing up t-shirts with similar passages and circumstances from the Koran about America's days being numbered, would you call people concerned about that message 'idiots'?

  • Do you even know the history of the passage? I suppose not, so yeah, shut up and do some research. =]

God I love my education, go GI Bill :)

  • The history of the passage has nothing to do with the meaning of the t-shirt. You admitted as much in an earlier message when you said that 109:8 was about impeachment. And you love your education... LMAO

  • We are in a holy war, period. You don't strike down the president, you pray for him. Pray that his heart would be yeilded to God. The truth is yes the scripture is being used however, they are claiming both Psalm 109:8 AND 109:9. That is not what's on the shirts, teddy bears, or any of the other merchandise. They found a way like always to manipulate their viewers to prove their point. Enough said.

  • Haha yeah, you're crazy.

  • Oh please ... Psalm 109:8 prays for impeachment.

Psalm 109:9 is being thrown in there by this dumb shit as an exaggeration to gain a one-up!

  • Yes probably in your view. But to someone else, it may mean something else.

  • The Secret Service MUST investigate anyone who wears this Pslams verse on a t-shirt or on a bumper sticker.

  • Frances they didn't ask God to kill obama that would be verse 9 Goober

  • This video is to Christian as Radical Islam is to Islam. It's two different extremes. This is just a democratic press trying to say that anyone who opposes Obama is a right wing radical. You don't have to be a right wing radical to oppose someone with Leftist viewpoints.

The few video segments they showed from Fox News channel were the only legitimate parts of this video.

  • This is going beyond the realm of opposing views. This is an indirect attack on the LIFE of the president using biblical text as justification for their actions.

  • 1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

The majority of the "religious right" is just that... religious... like the Pharisees that Jesus rebuked often, not truly knowing God nor having His Spirit within them!

Same goes for all "Christians" that preach hatre... they are either new Christians who are deceived or they are liars & manipulators who aren't real Christians to begin with!

1 John 4:8 - Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

  • @ChristianNewsWatch

I can actually agree with you.

  • People like this are the reason religion is becoming obsolete. no matter how hard you try, you wash over the hatred using a so called "loving god." Christians should practice what Jesus taught no act like the religious nuts of the day.

  • Agreed.... there is a revolution going on within Christianity with many believers rebelling against the hate/hell mongers who have hijacked mainstream Christianity and used it for political / religious oppression / gain.

    Peace be with you ;-)

  • You too.

That's good that many believers are rebelling against these hate mongers. Hatred has no place in the modern world. Without tolerance humanity could not move forward.

  • The phenomenon we are witnessing in these right-wing, religious extremists is the Antichrist--not a single person--but anyone who perverts Christianity by claiming its authority to justify their own hate & bigotry, their lust for power over others, and to do the work of their father the Devil. They demonstrate the complete opposite of a Christian demeanor.

  • True Christians would never kill a president. This is nothing but a set-up for a staged assassination which will be blamed on Christians. That is why Michelle Obama wore a black widow dress for her husband's presidential acceptance speech. The powers that be have the whole thing planned to frame the Christian right.

    Google:

    "Michele Obama's Black Widow Dress"

  • This is no joke.

We, as Christans, are called to "know your times" and be able to give a good answer for everything we believe, AND not get caught up in petty rivalries.

So, please consider what you are doing and saying in these times.

When Jesus REQUIRES us to LOVE our enemies, how can you pray for death of your enemy? What scripture are you using? I think it's sick and wrong. The facts show that the Bush administration invaded the wrong country for profit -did you pray for Bush's death?

  • How are these wackos any different than the Muslim terrorists they complain about?

  • Are you kidding? Muslim terrorists hate secularism, hate homosexuals, think the world is only a few thousand years old, believe in religious law, think women should stay at home, condemn sex before marriage and think its ok to kill those who disagree with them. They also hate washington, new york and holywood.

How dare you suggest the christian conservatives are similar!

  • Lol!

  • And like Islamic Fundies Christian Fundies hate modernity and want to take everyone back to a non-existent "Golden Age" of the past where supposedly society was ruled by religion and everyone "knew their place". Like Muslim Fundies Christian Fundies get a hard-on at the thought of war (particularly in the Middle East) because they think it brings us one step closer to Armageddon....which they want to happen.

  • hahahaha!

  • There is no difference between the two actually. A Christian fundamentalist criticizes a Muslim fundamentalist without realizing that they are looking at a reflection in the mirror.

  • @morganbath LOL. You're funny. At least I hope that was sarcasm, but you never know on here.........

  • @morganbath

Christian fundies and Islamists are exactly the same.

    Both groups hate freedom.

But that was never why WTC was attacked for in the 1st place...

  • They are no different A86

  • @A86 Yes I agree with you. Fundamentalism of any kind wether it's christian or moslim is dangerous. I hope the republican extremists don't kill this man. They might even harm his family.

  • @A86 They are not different....

  • 5:43 ....HOLY SHIT.

    He went there.

  • He is right. Christian extremists are just as bad as Muslim extremists. The only difference is that you see Muslim extremists all the time on the news and uneducated Americans believe that the majority of Muslims are this way.

  • Well...I wouldn't say a MAJORITY of Americans, but certainly a large group, and likely one that listens to people like R. Limbaugh and M. Savage. Those people get riled up, and even if they appear small, they are VERY vocal, which is just as much of a problem as if they were a majority.

  • i acutually talked to one of the bumper sticker users. apparently they're just palin fanatics. well at the one i spoke to was.

  • I swear if i see someone with a bumper sticker or a t-shit i would express my opinion. It would be hard to keep myself composed thats for sure.

  • i love this man! finally someone who is not totally illiterate, can speak about the reality many of us are living with daily. if you are a rational , liberal, living in a red state, you can feel this hate on the back of your neck at all times. this rapture crap is real.......the hate is real. and as someone living 5 miles from the okc bombing, it is incomprehenseable, but these people share the tim mcveigh belief system even more than he did!!!!...scary sh*t

  • it is a set up. freedom of religion is not gonna be around much longer

  • Tell that to the non-Christians, after you tell that to all the Christians who do not buy into the "bovine droppings" these right-wing hatefilled "christians" spew.

  • christianity has such a wonderful history of violence and hate, killing, stealing children, blowing people up, all in the name of a meat hungry god,

  • True. The past can not be undone nor made right. You can run, but you definitely can't hide.
