I got to Admit, the Publice Rail system in the United state is a P.O.S, because in L.A. they had a deadly train crash involving the Metro Link commuter rail, and the freight trains. and on July 5, Walt Disney World had a deadly train crash involving the two Monorail train.

@sideslide23 the DC Metro has ATC system. the track controls the speed and movement of the entire train. the metrolink accident happened because the idiot was texting.

Notice how the death toll was at 9 then backed down to 7? maybe they wanted to hide the deaths of the General and His Wife "for NATIONAL SECURITY" but it was too late, it already got out. I guess the General will never be called to the Witness Stand if Obama had the Balls to investigate 911 and what really happened. We all know the generals GPS on cell could never let somebody in Virginia see where he was for a convieniant "accident".

Just because of this, it doesn't mean you should stop taking the metro. Your still safer on a metro than a car.

There's something wrong with the design of this car. Anti climbers R supposed to prevent this kind of thing( telescoping). What about the signaling system? It should hv stopped the train long before it hit the lead train.She was zipping along when she shouldn't hv been able to move at all.

From my observation, it looks like the trailing train is apart of Metro's 1000 series (Rohr Industries). Those are the oldest in Metro's fleet, which date back to 1976. It really is surreal seeing another train literally sitting on another. My condolences go out to the victims. I'm just gutted right now.

As somebody who rides the Metro system every day, I have this to say: DC Metro really needs to get its act together. Their response to this was atrocious, and there was no plan of action after the fact, just chaos. What a disaster for everybody involved, including us commuters.

I always ride on the red line, I never imagined somethings of this magnitud could have happened.

My condolences to the family of the victims.

I sure hope the dc metro system prevents this types of accidents for the future.

This is terrible. I take the red line, and this exact route all the time. I can't remember anything like this happening in a while, I think the death count is up to 4. A sad day in DC.
