I remember Sparks performing this song on the UK children's show "Multi-Coloured Swap Shop" in 1978. Russ had cut his long bushy locks off and I remember he jumped on top of Ron's piano at the end of the song. Don't know if the footage still exists.
reallyfullomyself: I could have made the exact same comment! I have been inmeshed in my rediscovered sparks world for several months and now that I've found it, i don't want to EVER leave.
i want my original Sparks LP'S back!! Where are they gone?? (crying blood..... :(,,,, ) Oh gosh i miss that time of my life..and everyone thinking i'm soo cool cos i have like the best LP's around that no-ones parents will buy them.. i loved this band SOOO much, and i JUST fell in love again! epic!! GENIOUS!!
@tenthweb Yes Web, i think it is Hitmen! Nicely done! And did you notice that the occupations are (mostly) in alphabetical order? So I think the second one is Bombers (not plumbers). And HOTEL keepers (not motel keepers). and QUIZ show hosts (not game show)...If you crank the volume and listen to the very very end, you can make out Yes Men and Zoo keepers...Still trying to wrap my ears around the Cocaine Druggists bit, not sure about that one......
Classic Sparks Album..this was Sparks first On the Columbia Label back in 1977..the Promo radio station copys were in RED Vinyl ( i've got one)....and this LP was designed Re-Ignite Sparks career..thus calling it "Introducing Sparks".........as Sparks had MANY LPS released prior this this Lp...................This was good LP for them..............
Amazing ,so many great songs of their i dont know besides this town,i predict, mickey mouse, eaten by ,#11 song n heaven,ANGST n my pants! These are classics and covered al da time but their catalogue extends for over 35 years !Amazing band !

One of my favorite Sparks songs! I have been trying to decipher the lyrics starting at 4:10. Any help is appreciated!
Actors, Plumbers, ??? (can it be Cocaine Druggists?), Donut Makers, Elephant Trainers!
Greyhound Drivers, Motel Keepers, ??? Knights & Dukes of Earle!
Lady Killers, Maids & Nuns, Orson Welles' Promo Men! (love that one!)
Game Show Hosts & Royal Family, Sailors, Trollops, Undertakers!
Werewolves, Witches, X-Rated Actors...
Can anyone help me fill in the blanks? :)

@sparksfan
I think it's "Greyhound drivers, motel keepers, hitmen, knights and Dukes of Earl!"
Not sure about the other one; all I can hear now at that line is "cocaine druggists!"

@raelnine you can't get a tan behind glass. They get time off to lie in the sun for a discount... That's why they are tanned.

We cowboys are a hardy bread, we need our beans and tumbleweed. We're good on horses, good with guns. We smell but so does everyone.
We doctors are important men, We'll make you feel well again. You open wide and we look in, and throw in several aspirin.
We athletes run around and round, we moan and groan and hit the ground. And when we get to 35, we sell cosmetics and survive.

pilots... we pilots take you anywhere; we'll be your father in the air! We'll try to look calm and cool... but we're as scared as all of you! Ha—Ha!
