  • This song gives me shivers.

  • This show just came in my netflix... is it good?

  • Thanks a lot for the OST. I love Dune books and just saw the movie. Maybe a little far for the book but... this soundtrack broke my heart. Thanks for giving a fan of Frank Herbert 4 great minutes ^^

    See you!

  • this is poetry.it's an invented language,but it's poetry.

  • Youtube now offers the option of providing a button to download the video in MP4 format. It would be awesome if you would enable this button. :)

  • @nonstopdrivel look at the description.. there you got the entire soundtrack if you like =)

  • @nicochueco the link doesnt work sadly

  • Ooh, this is sung by Azam Ali, I love her!!! Stunningly beautiful song.

  • Among the many things Frank Herbert created the language of the fremen was one of them. It is a real language and can be learned like many of the other languages of litriture such as elfish and klingon.

  • THIS ROCKS!!!

  • Inama nushif (She is eternal) Al asir hiy ayish (No malice can touch) Lia-anni (Singular and ageless) Zaratha zarati (Perpetually bound) Hatt al-hudad (Through the tempest) Al-maahn al-baiid (be it deluge or sand) Ay-yah idare (A singular voice) Adamm malum (speaks through the torrent) Hatt al-hudad (Through the tempest) Al-maahn al-baiid (be it deluge or sand) Ay-yah idare (A singular voice) Adamm malum (speaks through the torrent)

  • @mariusbigb

... and you ROCK even more!!!!!!!!

  • this song always gives me goosebumps. something about it resonates within me, as though the ten millenia preceding me and the ten yet to be lived were somehow condensed into this very moment. bai lal kaifa,

  • @nicoelhombre yes and the sequence in the mini-series where Muad'Dib decides enough is enough and clears the board of all the major players that hold a grudge against his family, is wonderful in a rather chilling way.

  • Heavenly.

  • Oh man Alia was sexy in this movie as is Leto II's sister. This is a movie that did Dune right and i think God Emperor of Dune could have been great if it continued but i can't wait for the next big screen Dune movie. Besides Avatar is already the same thing as Dune.

  • Beautiful song. Brian Tyler is a genius. The whole Children of Dune soundtrack is awesome. I recommend getting it.

  • This is a beautiful song. It really brings in the feeling of greatness Dune brought to its readers. It's one of those feelings that just can't be described in words.

  • @CarlosMarti123

It captures the spirit of the book.

  • @Johnlindsey289 We need to do what the film adaptation of Lord of the Rings did to its novels, perhaps even better. It brings great stories like these to the public eye.

  • @CarlosMarti123

I know they need to do a LOTR style approach on 3 or 4 movies to do the first book justice and maybe it will ignore that Lynch trainwreck.

  • @CarlosMarti123

    ... exactly!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song gives me an entire ocean of emotions.

  • Inama nushif (She is eternal)

  • One of the best songs...

  • @diedonski no doubt

  • @diedonski I agree!!!

  • @diedonski i agree

  • @diedonski i agree the best song ever

  • dune would be great as a t.v series, look at the special effects on new battlestar galactica n stargate universe, its pretty good,a dune t.v series would be the right thing coz dune universe is huge, hbo is creating a t.v series based on song of fire n ice novels,so why not dune get a t.v series of its own.

  • OMG you should def. post the original Fremen lyrics to this song with the english translations. They can be found on many sites. What is actually being said in Fremen is beautiful and haunting to no end. Gawd does this song give me the chills.

  • This song and the scene it was in gave me the biggest chills. The fact that Children of Dune was such a great movie was a very pleasant surprise!

  • Yes this is a great song. The minute I heard this soundtrack I made a point of getting it. It is one of the great strengths of the TV series, which together with the first was by far the best attempt at filming these books (I agree the Lynch version was diabolical).

The music perfectly fits the story.

  • I love how Paul kills all his opponents and has his children during this song. The birth scene is the most realistic I have ever seen. The passion, the pain, the love, its just too great to full describe. I <3 Barbora Kodetová

  • fantastic song

  • يحيا الشهداء!

    (Long live the fighters!)

  • Bless the Maker and His water.

Bless the coming and going of Him.

May His passage cleanse the world.

May He keep the world for His people.

  • are the freeman Arabs?

  • @gilchris112 Its 'Fremen.' A name which developed over time to describe 'the free man of Arrakis.' Those 'Zensunni' settlers who after settling on Arrakis, went out into the wild desert to live as bedouins. It is strenuously hinted by Herbert that they are in fact the descendants of Arabs in the far-flung future. Their religion sounds like a cross between Zen Budhism and Sunni Islam(Arabia.) Their culture is that of Arabs. Except women have far more rights and influence lol.

  • You can find actual lyrics along with english translation on brian's website. Just go to discography and credits section of his website then follow Children of dune link. Lyrics are at the end of that page.

Amazing song btw. Brian Tyler really outdone himself this time.

  • @nameless0193 Wow, thank you so much. I love this song. My son has the soundtrack, and he said that it was the language of the novel. I never thought there was an actual translation.

  • Music is similar to Gladiator. Love it! I'd love to see Brian Tyler to the music to the new Dune. If not, I would settle for Jablonsky or Giacchino

  • @bennihana123

    Jablonsky would be perfect.

  • in love with this soundtrack!

    IN. LOVE!

  • this song is so damn awesome, thanks for uploading it man

  • i always cry by hearing this beautiful song.

  • wow its beautiful song :)

  • Great song but the lyrics are mostly real Arabic and from The Dune Encyclopedia (p.237). The tale about Tyler going through the books for the words is "fabricated" or a misunderstanding by Greg Yaitanes. Some bits of the lyrics are gibberish, and the translation unrelated.

    Though we deem

    the captive dead,

    yet does she live.

For her seed is my seed

and her voice is my voice.

And she sees unto the farthest reaches of possibility.

    Yea, unto the vale

    of the unknowable

does she see because of me.

  • Yeah this music would have been perfect for the film Avatar. Thats what Avatar was lacking - THAT soundtrack that all great fims have had. The music Tyler wrote for this mini-series was awesome. I hope when the new Dune film gets made they get the soundtrack right. Thats one thing Lynch got right with his version using Toto and Brian Eno - the music. Can't have a Dune film coming out thats spot on but with none-descript music...

  • @sidious76

Avatar would have been better if Steve jablonsky had composed for it. I know horner has way more work to his name, but SJ is honestly a very talented musician. Too bad he almost always gets tied to a michael bay movie, which usually calls for a certain niche of music that wont let him explore. Gears of war 2 had some fantastic and varied peices. He can match music to the "tone" of a scene perfectly.

  • @Jarsia

Yes I know. One of the things I really liked about Transformers (I didn't like the sequel at all though) was the music. That film should have won the Oscars for best visual effects, best original score, best sound mixing and best sound editing. But they decided to give them all to lesser films because the academy hate Michael Bay. Unfair, especially on Jablonsky. I believe he was Hans Zimmer's student prior to Transformers wasn't he? The music to The Dark Knight was very similar.

  • @Jarsia The fact is they were wrong about Transformers. It was a good film. Transformers 2 however, was a perfect example of why they can't stand Bay-style movies. It was a commercialised, cheesy, over-done, overly long, unfunny film. The storyline was a complete mess, with silly nods towards the 'Afrocentrism' movement of african Americans, geopolitical nonsense, plugging Jordan/Jordanians etc with the WOT. Anyway, Jablonsky's great and i think he would be good for the new Dune too.

  • @Jarsia Come on, the Avatar soundtrack is pretty amazing as well, so much work went into coming up with all the ethnic stuff in it, not to mention the detailed language. It's simpler overall (few themes, simple melodies) but it's still pretty good.

  • @metabog

Well thats kinda the problem, its actually a very standard soundtrack. Yes, it is well composed and pleasant to listen to, but to me it just didnt stand out(and Horners work usually does). I like Jablonsky because he makes soundtracks that mesh perfectly with a movie or game but still sound original and unique(even if the themes in the content arent).

  • @metabog

Well Avatar and Dune are similar don't you think? i mean both are Sci-fi fantasy stories of outcast guys who are on strange exotic planets, alien creatures, a precious substance, main guy in love with a unlikely girl, rebelious tribes, training, taming of creatures and fighting against a corporal greedy person.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yeah, but Dune is a lot deeper than Avatar, mostly because it's like 12 books, with a deep mythology and hard sci-fi. Avatar was cool and fun as a movie but it doesn't hold a candle to the Dune universe. Dune, the original books, set the foundations for a lot of what is considered sci-fi today, even Avatar.

  • @sidious76 why would they ever make a new dune film?

  • @nikheizen Well a lot of people weren't happy with Lynch's original (including himself.) The producers of both the mini-series' wanted a bigger budget really and they are back to produce the new film in 2011, which is good news. I think it can be done bigger and better(Peter Jackson's LOTR films are a perfect example of how to do this right.) I understand your concerns though, that they'll probably just fuck it all up again. If they do, then there won't ever be another attempt...

  • @sidious76 I agree with that, but still. I watched both version, the 1984 one and the sci-fi one before I read any of the books. I must say though the sci-fi did a very good job in recreating the book. I was actually amazed that both Messiah and Children of Dune came out the way they did.

  • @sidious76 I have seen some Horrible fuckups in my day, but I would not put the sci-fi versions of any of the dunes ANYWHERE near them. I loved the books, Loves the movies and would LOVE to see the series go on..... but your right, they would fuck them up. The Tryant Worm!!!!!!

  • @nikheizen Unfortuanately (and i'm sorry to say this because i'm not some neo-nazi or anything,) i don't believe this book can be accurately converted into a film at this present time due to present-day politics/sensibilities. Whichever studio/financiers are putting the money up for this will undoubtedely be Jewish. Probably with strong 'Zionist' beliefs. There is no way they will allow any director from Europe/of European descent, to glorify the Arabs' struggle for freedom in the Middle East.

  • @sidious76

Lol no, i meant, I loved these movies, but the other books, really dont make the cut.

    Lynch's version was trash.

  • @nikheizen Ah. Right you are. Yeah the later books (4 - 6) would not really translate to film in my opinion anyway. I'll be kind and say they became 'overly cerebral?'

  • @sidious76 Hahaha, that's definitely the kindest way to put it. I could think of a few other descriptors for 4-5 (especially 4). ;)

  • @Johnlindsey289 They're more than 'similar.' Dune was definitely the inspiration for Cameron's Avatar. But there's nothing wrong with that. Dune is just 'too much' for your average person. Cameron saw a niche there. Avatar is basically Dune for the proles. It doesn't generate any complex thought or discussion in my opinion, but it was great fun. I have had no desire to watch it a second time either, which is always the case with very 'obvious' and 'simple' stories.

  • Comment removed

  • @Johnlindsey289 Lynch screwed it up in my opinion too. Basically, he got the 'atmosphere' right (Toto's music + fantastic desert/worm scenes + dream sequences.) That and some great acting are all the film has really. Thats what has given it a cult fan base i think. If the guys behind the 2 sets of mini series had been given a modern equivalent of Lynch's budget their work would have been definitive i think. All they needed was better effects/sets and more expensive/talented actors.

  • @sidious76

I wish Lynch never touched Dune because the studios were dumb to hire him when it could have been Ridley Scott. Thank god The Terminator destroyed Dune in 1984, well Dune 2000 and Children of Dune would have made Herbert very happy unlike Lynch's piece of junk. Besides you can't have dune on film because it's too difficult! but there is hope for a new 4-part big screen extravaganza from some quality French director who loves the books, maybe hire someone like Redcliffe for Paul.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I'd love to see a full adaptation of all the original books, with good actors and a decent budget. The Dune universe is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • @Johnlindsey289 You do realise Frank Herbert worked on David Lynch's Dune with him, and he was actually pretty happy with how it turned out? Weirding module aside, it was actually very faithful to the book, with all the extended scenes.

  • @Coillscath

No way, i hated Lynch's abortion of a adaptation. A real disgusting film, Lynch was a miscast director for such a project and one of the worst movies i've ever seen in my life despite a great soundtrack which is better than the overlong, ugly, boring and senseless adaptation. The real Dune movie will come out in 2013 which will rock the boat as a 4 part movie

  • @Johnlindsey289 You're being unnecessarily harsh to David Lynch. He filmed everything true to the book as he could with all of the unnecessary pressure from the film studio, and he wanted the final cut to be around 3 hours minimum, to which the studio told him no it has to be no more than 2.

After reading Dune and watching both versions, the miniseries had a much nicer aesthetic, yes, but they changed many of the characters and setpieces. David Lynch was very faithful.

  • @Coillscath

Lynch's misfire is one of the worst movies i've ever seen in my life and it's as fun as watching dust grow. Lynch didn't know jackshit of the novel at first as the film was Dune for dummies. The only great Dune movie was Children of Dune, that was the only true great Dune movie. Faithful my ass, since when does the Baron look like a diseased freak? that's what Lynch's garbage was, a freakshow that costed 47 million dollars and glad it flopped and hated watching it.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I find it a bit sickening personally that you take your personal opinions of a book to this extent of language. When I read the Dune I imagined the BAron to look very much like it was portrayed in the miniseries instead of what I saw in the older movie version. He was a BIG guy that had to use a hover device to be able to move. Hello what about that is not fat and ugly loking. Frankly this version made him look nicer than the movie version. Also no jumping around the plot in this

  • @simon80fi

I know he's a mildy fat intelligent politican with a clean face and nothing like that zit-faced laughing Joker of a slob from David Lynch's 1984 monstrosity.

  • "being unnecessarily harsh to David Lynch." I agree. Lynch was undermined to such a degree that even today he won't talk about it, other than to say he felt it was a disaster. (He actually behaves as if it was some kind of traumatic experience--and given his commitment to his creative endeavors, being undermined with "Dune" likely was traumatic). Lynch isn't out there saying this was a masterpiece, exactly what he wanted, etc, but rather the opposite...at least to the degree he says anything.

  • @greyeyed123 Exactly. He doesn't even want his name associated with the movie, poor guy. Even before it released, he knew it wasn't going to be what he wanted it to be at all.

  • @greyeyed123

He was the wrong man for a Dune movie when it should have been Alejandro Jorodowsky or Ridley Scott as intended and those would have been sweet even to have an 8 hour movie. Lynch was a gun-for-hire who knows nothing of the books but wrote the script based on a couple of rejected screenplays but Lynch disowned the film because he considers it a painful memory that he wishes to forget and would walk out of interviews if Dune is ever mentioned because he hates it that much.

  • Comment removed

  • @Johnlindsey289 I agree, it ended up being just a Lynch movie and he was definitely the wrong man for the job. I've never understood the studio's decision to give him the job to this day. He's definitley NOT a sci-fi guy. But he can create an amazing atmosphere (he did the same in Twin Peaks initially.) He then proceeded to ruin Dune by 'editing' one of the greatest storylines ever written. The original Matrix always made me think of the Butlerian Jihad until the Legend prequel books came out.

  • @sidious76

Well Dune and The Matrix are the same as Neo was like Paul Atredis as Neo was prophecized to save a civilazation, going on mind trips, and fighting against an enemy. Even Stargate, The Fifth Element and Dark City are similar movies to Dune right?

  • I love soundtrack of Dune too and Children of D. is great also p.s. yes, it seem to bee clear, fremens are like an arab nation but sobe quotes in first book are gypsy :o))

  • this is real music.

    beautiful :D

  • i find it dosent matter what she is saying, cus you can feel it within her voice.

Id like to see britney spears try to ever be this beautyful.

  • Whats funny is that new fans don't know that she is signing in the freman language. It sounds like if it was a real language would like to find were to learn it.

  • First off how bored are you to start a pointless argument from a 2 month old comment. What you not getting enough attention in the outside world you gotta pick fights here. And second I have the Soundtrack and the composer inside the cover said he made the woman sing it in the Freeman dialect. A dialect which is fake but made to sound almost similar to Arabic dialect. So before you go insulating people for no reason next time do your research.

  • And I have googled it long time ago and it says the fremen language is a descendent from arabic language from earth and when they moved to the planet arrakis it changed and evolved. So that's why you confuse it to the real thing it may have some arabic words in it so it can give the fake language a believably that it has history behind it.

  • @greyfox129 I think Herbert's 'Fremen' language was a cross between Arabic and Gypsy wasn't it? Could be wrong actually.

  • @greyfox129

Well yes it is freman but freman is a mix of various Arabic languages. So if you really want to learn now you know how. ;)

    And yes, it's really beautiful.

  • @diedonski

Even a bit of Yiddish is thrown in it

  • @greyfox129 true that. Though the style of the language sounds like it has influences from Farsi.

  • @greyfox129 it's because Frank Herbert based the languages in Dune on rudimentary language rules, And if by fans you mean those who have only seen the movies then I personally wouldn't count that.

  • @greyfox129 the dune wiki has a well done article on this fictional language, grammar, pronounciation, many things are there.if you know arabic too,the rest, what isn't told in the article, comes from itself.i'm sending you a private message with the page ;-)

  • Has Inama Nushif with the original montage

of Chani in labor, the avenging executions etc

been taken off of Youtube? I cannot find it.

  • Love the track, but why did they make the blue eyes the way they did? Completely wrong! 5 stars though.

  • i get goose bumps :} xxx

  • love it

  • I just came across it, and I love it to death already. The closest thing to it, that I can think of is 'Now We are Free' on the Gladiator soundtrack but even that is rather different.

The music and the singer are both fantastic, and I wish I knew where to find more of this style.

  • Pandora radio would help... Just make a station based on the name or artist and it play music like it... it's very cool!

  • The singer's name is Azam Ali. You should listen to some of her songs. There are a few which are similar to this one

  • It's wonderful to see (hear) how the universe, and atmosphere of Dune can affect to people. Without it this wonderful song could have never been born... :)

  • I Agree! This and "My skin is not my own".

  • Thank you :)

  • Such a beautiful song. Thank you for posting!!
