Is it bad to rotate the whole cube in F2L?

do it as little as possible. When rotating the cube, it takes more time than doing a turn. Also, a problem is recognizing the new set up of the cube after the rotation.

all you really need to do, well, what i did, is take it apart completely, then pop off a center piece CAREFULLY! then unscrew the rest of the center piece and adjust the tension of the cube, then put it back togather, u dont relly need to unscrew it, just loosen it a little, then lube it for EXTRA speed, moves VERY SMOOTHLY, i reccommend that.

i put silicon lubricant spray stuff in mine and it works like a charm!

vaseline doesnt eat away the plastic vaseline has been in my cube for like a year and vaseline comes in a plastic bottle retards wow you are stupid

yea same is happening to me, i tried to add more in a few days ago and some black stuff got on me so o.O

all that is is just dirt build up and part of the cube grinding on itself, mine does the same thing, i just clean it and relube it

its just the cube rubbing off on you, you can buy a brand new cube and not lube it and itll still do that...

I could do that but this is the only cube I have and I don't want to ruin it. I hear if you get vasaline or silicone lube inside the screws if fucks them up.

nah my mate silliconed mine at the weekend it spins so much easier and as long as u solve it once a week its quicker and quicker

after the week its a bit stiff bt a couple of solves sorts it out and its fast again

dont use vaseline it will eat away at the plastic

how do you get a standard black cube to rotate so well?

Take it apart, sand down the edges (you'll see what you need to sand once you look closely at the inside) then lube it with vaseline or something like that.. (my friends and I use chapstick) :]
