  • great book horrible movie

  • @MrTent Kinda like in the book the sphere is silver, but in the movie it is gold.

THE MANY ENTITIES WHO MADE THIS MOVIE ARE WRONG.

    -Jerry

  • The moment they show the size of the squid is the most tense and suspenseful part.

It like you're shouting to the actors GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!!!!

  • this movie is awesome on a projector in your basement with all the lights off

  • Name of this song?

  • "What the hell makes eggs this size?" Exactly, what does? That scared the hell out of me. "80 yards and closing" "60 yards" "40 yards move move move" shit. Talk about tension "20 yards MOVE!!""

  • I liked this movie, but not everything made sense. They should have explained more.

  • Had they been smart, they would have ditched the body when the squid came along like they did in the book.

  • You can tell by the foot that they used a different dummy for the scene where they're dragging Edmunds' body back to the habitat.

  • the monsters name is jerry lmao

  • In the book, weren't their helmets yellow? Still a GREAT MOVIE.

  • @Fisharecool11 I think so. There are some major differences. But that's why I like to watch the movie first. Makes the book so much more phenomenal =)

  • Excuse the language but HOW THE FUCK CAN A SQUID PULVERISE SOMEONE???

  • @danielkronos like how does it have the strength or how can it without just ripping a person apart?

  • @MrTrent Both, if possible,i mean that lady´s face was messed up in the movie, how did it cut her foot considering her boot was still on, did the squid choke her like hulk or something?

  • @danielkronos haha yeah it really didn't make too much sense for her to have her feat messed up but have her shoes be alright... giant squid have teeth on their suckers so that could account for the cuts...

  • I cant stop watching the movie anyhow, its so disturbing, yet after the scene is over you just want to replay it.

  • @MrTrent it's almost like its a movie!

  • @MrTrent No, most likely the squid held her in its tentacles and crushed her such that her bones shattered and caused flesh wounds.

In the book, the woman who'd been killed had the back of her suit torn open and her back chewed up by the squid's beak and radula.

  • @MrTrent

well even if they didnt have razorsharp teeth, he would have just immagined that on them.

its his fear thoughts beeing manifested. so if he thinks squid have nasty teeth, they do =)

  • @danielkronos ummm... do you know what a squid is?

  • @josh18207 Yes, i do know what a squid is

  • @danielkronos that squid was frickin huge,,,easily pulverise

  • In the book, it showed up on the sonar and caused a ruckus, and then they turned down the settings so the sonar would ignore anything that large.

    Smart move, huh?

  • In the novel the viewpoint is that of Norman Johnson, the psychologist. He was knocked out at the end of the attack, along with Harry Adams. I can't remember what happens in the movie, but there you go.

  • thats because we all read the book fag

  • I just finished the book...haven't seen the movie...but it was awesome.

  • awe. advice for those who have not read the book: watch the movie first. its always better to love the movie, then read and be IN love with the book rather than love the book, then watch and hate the movie

  • i might have liked "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy hadn't i read the books first. but then i couldn't imagine anything myself and it would all be an image of what i saw in the movies (hobits are thin? Ents don't have tree-tops? cave trolls and what not - all imagination would be lost). and, thinking of the director's (Peter Jackson's) next movie (King Kong) i'm glad i read before watching.

  • 1. are the orbs eggs? do squids constanstly laiy eggs like that?

    2. if i had to die from an animal, this would be my least fav pic

  • haha yes they are eggs. Squid lay hundregs off eggs and like other animals that do that, only a few survive.

Squids are one of the most vicious animals out there! i dont know why a god would make such a horrible creature! Its tentacles have suckers that are lined with razor teeth or hooks, a beak the size of your head, and its tongue is lined with teeth as well as well.

  • Sounds like that film...Called squid or something. Scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.

Like watching Jaws when your 7 and trying to go into the sea... Haha!

  • That movie is called "The Beast", and it's based off a book by Peter Benchley, who wrote "Jaws".

  • Maybe that's why it lives deep under the sea and we live on land.

  • the bookis ten times scarier than the movie. and much more intense

  • if any one wants the soundtrack to this movie then click on to my profile.

  • I'm in the process of reading the book right now. Almost at the end. For some reason I am always forgetting how much I enjoy Michael Crichton's writing.

The movie came on Space last Sunday. That calming piano music which plays during the frightening scenes sends chills down my spine. :)

  • the book is great i just finished reading it today

  • Of Sphere? Yeah. It's amazing and makes you think more and fear more.

  • That is very true. They could have shown it ( even with great CGI) but it wouldnt have made it scarier than just feeling its presence.

  • wish they would have made the entering the spaceship part really scary somehow

  • This is the best movie of all time! I LOVE IT! Never read the book but I would like to. This love this movie so much I would splooge on it. mmmm

  • This film scared the shit out of me the first time I saw it.

  • @lonerook860 yeah, i was like 8

  • "I didn't feel like an easter egg hunt."

  • his books are cool...my faves are jp and the lost world...

  • I saw it when I was 8 or 9, and I started going back 2 sleep at 13 8|

  • the book is cool.

  • yay im readen it right now michel chritons books are awsome lol think i spelt his name wrong

  • @bassfishinfever Michael Crichton

  • i saw shere the same day i saw twentythousand leages under the sea
