wow, this is also a timbre like max emanuel cencic has. its a little bit like callas. so round and vibratolike. but your range should be more with balance. keep on!
Very nice! Some vowel shapes are a bit strange, but on the whole very good!
I am however intrigued by your choice of ornamentation in the B section! What made you choose such a level of ornamentation, almost to the point of distorting the tune in this section?
Put plainly: the words. Besides, compared to other specialists, this ornamentation is actually fairly tame in a harmonic context. Many modern interpretations have become increasingly classical, a "minimalistic" approach to the baroque, merely a few apoggiature and a trill here and there. The repeated declamation of "I can only bear (my sorrows) with you beside me" merited more than this, in my humble opinion.
i still can't actually believe how well you sing it. but this song is so sad it makes me cry! :( especially as i now learn italian and i can understand it better.
OH MY GOD. WOW. that is actually amazing. You have such a beautiful voice! I ADORE this song and you sing it so beautifully. like an angel. How long have you trained for?
thank you very much. i too adore this aria of heartbreak and longing. it took me a little over ten years to find my own voice, but you never truly finish learning.
You have a wonderful voice. I am currently a tenor 2, Baritone, Base 2. I wish to become a countertenor. My falsetto is quite strong what should I do if i want to peruse this path?
Thank you for your comment. As for your question, that is something you should pursue with a countertenor-friendly teacher. Are you in or near New York City? I wouldn't know what to tell you without hearing you or knowing your voice. Best of luck in your endeavor.
my apologies to the last commenter (Oct. 12), i deleted your comment by mistake, meaning to reply to it. thank you for your kind words, i needed them. sadly i did not catch your username.
Where is the orchestra ? Why are you filmed from so far away ? Why would you open that much to sing the e in vieni ? (that's a lot of questions i know lol)
pues me entrene como tenor, y tuve excelentes maestros en Puerto Rico y Estados Unidos. como contratenor me entrene yo mismo hasta recientemente. gracias por escuchar.
I am indeed in awe...where can I see you..I am wirth Portland Stage...as an actor an my play on Longfellow is in workshop there....I would kill to be on the same stage as you my friend! amazing...
HOly shiznat! That's amazing! YOu can go higher then me, and I'm a girl! XXXDD I sing alto, no musical training though, just good old school choir. I tend more towards jazz style anyways. But absolutely lovely. Wonderful, keep up the singing!
thank you very much. range wise I have a usable low A2 up to a cantabile C#6. i have sang D6 in performance once or twice, but it's a little nerve wrecking, lol.
Very nice line to your singing. Rich overtones. Quite satisfying. I shall watch for a recording with less echo on it so that I may better appreciate your upper range.
WOW... what a magnificent performance. Unfortunately can´t have any recordings from you. My best wishes for the future... very sensitive interpretation.
i can't hear what you are singing, it sounds like u sing all in the back of your mouth. u have very much vibrato, i prefer less. But you have a strong voice.
I dont think it sounds like Scholl at all... Scholl is a countertenor with a light voice... Benjamin sounds very much like a mezzo soprano rather than a countertenor... Great voice...Keep working on it!
I just wanna say I agree. Far away from Andreas Scholl. Especially for the highest notes. But it's good keep your style you dont have to sound like someone else.
Bellissimo!!!!
Roberto.

Regarding the deletion of the comment, it was probaly mine. I don't see it.
Anyways, I wanted to express my admiration for such a beautiful voice.
In my comment I mentioned that:
God created Humans as image of him-her self and the Angels to delight them both, with their songs. Your voice belongs to this third category.
Thank you for the experience.
I hope to hear your own recordings soon.
