Guys if its saved as a sound send it to yourself as a text message, then open it and click options and save it as a ringtone. But keep it as a sound to so you can resend it to a friend if you want. Cause you cant send ringtones only sounds. Good luck.

my cousin did this exact thing with same program and i used my sd card and it went only to my sounds and i cant use my sounds as a ringtone HELP =/

send them to yourself then open the message hit save as ringtone and all set :)

when i try to save it i can bcause a window pops up and says audacity does not expot mp3 files direct, but instead use freely avaible LAME library. so i still need to download that so i can save it? need help.

i suppose that would work on phones that have micro sd card slots, but not all of them have that luxury, such as, for example, the LG VX5400 MENTIONED IN THE ARTICLE!!

As long as it fits into the data size limit I suppose it could be the whole song, but your phone most likely will only play 30 seconds or so before going to voicemail.
