The bhava and bhakti of Smt Aruna Sai is so captivating and hypnotizing that even Karunanidhi would start thinking of Thyagaraja and Shri Rama coming as he does from aplace so close to Tiruvarur and Tiruvaiyaru
@subbanrasu I feel sad for you and for your referral to karunanidhi and thyagaraja and blah blah....aruna sairam has one of the most pathetic voices not to mention her face being contorted to look like that of a monkey when she sings....I was shocked to see that kind of crowd that gathered on this occasion to witness a truly God awful performance. I feel sad for you subbanarasu for your sad taste in music. Hope you look beyond aruna sairam and see that there are other more talented musicians.
@TheDr107 I feel sad for you too. All you see is the physical part of this artist. The voice is magnificent, What? you think you are the only enlightened one and the vast crowds that this artists draws are all ignorant? Your ears are so stopped up by your own egoism that you cannot hear the deep feelings and intense bhakti in her voice. Who cares if she contorts her face, in the end it is the finished product that captivates us. It is obvious you do not understand Carnatic music.
This is the Padam "Kuvalayakshiro" in Gaulipantu attributed to Kshetrayya. Sairam's rendition and gamakas follow those of Veena Dhanam's family (via Brinda-Muktha). The family traditionally begins with the Anupallavi, "kuvalayakshiro eppadi ma muvvagopala rayadu gade."
